This is why people say never challenge a boxer in a one on one fight, they spend most of their lives training for combat without weapons and you think you gonna stand a chance without a gun? Fuck outta here😂
Using boxing is not ideal in a real fight because it will break your hand. Tyson broke his hand in that fight and was injured for a bit. The hand did however also break Mitch's face.

I mean true its impressive but its also pretty obvious Mike let him go the distance. Im confident if Iron Mike actually dug into him it would have been a round 1 k o
Punching power is momentum, surprise and precision(really imparted momentum or impulse). All these physical concepts depends on speed. So no, no one was unaware that Tyson was a speed monster.
ain't nothing weird about it, when you grow up in the streets looking over your shoulder it's a habit to always watch your back and since he is a celebrity with crazy people out there in the world, cant really trust nobody cuz you don't know who coming after you. It's normal for him to be cautious among strangers.

Tyson has protagonist vibes. Especially with how he went from being a monster who scared himself to a wise old man taking trips like the magi did. Greatest growth arc ever told. From warrior to sage.
Many can fight, but what made Mike Tyson great was he went about boxing with a technical level that was unmatched in those years. I've been a Tyson fan for many years and he definitely was one of the most dominant champions. However; what most people fail to realize is that the killer version of Mike Tyson who was ferocious and dominant had only lasted during the 1st 4-5 years of his 20 + years career. One major factor was that 95% of his opponents didn't come to fight but to survive. During that time, Tyson did not sustain any significant damage or injuries. The 5 years he spent in prison allowed his body to rest and recuperate while other active boxers were accumulating more and more physical damage. Those who claim that Tyson was past his prime during his fight with Holyfield clearly do not understand the sport. Becoming the youngest, most dominant champion a such a young age made him overly confident and unmotivated to train like he used to.
Yeah but isn’t that the fall of a lot of great athletes? They get great at what they do, their ego can take over and they feel like they don’t have to work as hard. Still a reason someone can fall out of their prime.

The force that Tyson can throw hook punches at is impressive, he really is able to swing his body mass into it. Some people think he is small because of height, however if you look at his body is very wide and thick and very muscular, he is 240lbs. He is essentially built like a Samoan.
Yeah hes average height but not small or average in anyway besides height. Hes very stocky and muscular. He has big hands and joints. Overall maybe below average size for heavyweight standards but compared to the general population hes a big powerful stout man.
Finally someone who realizes this. Tyson was maybe "small" compared on height to other heavyweights, but in terms of thickness and muscle , he was nowhere near small.
It's not his weight or his body that gave him power...it was his Movement. His drastic Slips are putting him in position for Power Punches each time. His Left Hook he Slips Left and uses that to explode into that Left Hook. He also doesn't just pivot on the Left Foot for the Hook, he launches himself forward into it with his pivot to where it is damn near a Hook version of a Superman Punch
In retrospect, it's almost unbelievable that someone would try to start such a beef with young and prime Mike Tyson. Wanting to fight Tyson in the ring is one thing, but to talk so much and piss him off too?! Even with his size and strength, Green was lucky to be walking after getting in it with Mike.
I wouldn't go that far. A gangster isn't someone who can beat a man up in a boxing ring. Okay, I haven't seen anyone mention how he straight up pummeled a giant of a man who was high on pcp. Angel dust can make people go insane or irrational, being able to withstand enormous amounts of pain and keep going with ease, since the adrenaline and effects are so powerful. Mike Tyson was incredibly skilled in every facet of the game. People don’t understand the insane amount of time he spent drilling footwork and watching film. He was a well oiled machine of boxing destruction. Mike Tyson-for a certain amount of time -was the perfect combination of natural punching power-unparalleled commitment to training-and focused homicidal rage. There has never been someone so dangerous in a boxing ring. He eventually lost his commitment to training and his mental anguish overcame his talent-but for a certain period of time - there has never been a man alive that would have came out of that ring with a win against Mike Tyson.

I've been reliability informed that Cus hadn't just died,( I got that wrong) BUT my point still stands,Mike was now in the Don King camp, with the money, the girls, the massive entourage, he just started believing his own hype, thinking he was invincible without having to train. Cus kept him grounded, would have worked him harder, kept him away from all the bloodsuckers like Don King. He didn't go round kissing his arse telling him he's the greatest, all you have to do is turn up and you've won etc etc Cus made Mike through hard work,an ethic that got lost once he was with King,if Cus hadn't died Mike would never have lost that fight,as we would have seen a much more focused fighter, who trained harder and wanted it more
@@festeezy this is not true, both testosterone and estrogen are known to cause increased anger and irritibality, chemicals like serotonin and cortisol act against these hormones (coritsol ofc being more associated with negative effects while serotonin is associated with positive effects). You can also clearly see this in other non-human animals such as many birds and mammals that become way more aggressive during breeding season because they begin to rapidly increase their production of testosterone for competing with other males, like for example elephants during Musth (when they're ready to mate) become very aggressive and irritiable because of their testosterone increasing by up to 60 times!
I remember as a kid that people used to complain about Tyson fights because he would knock people out with in few minutes,. With the cost of pay per views and the awful undercards alot of people felt cheated. If you were ever lucky enough to see Tyson as it happened you would understand how magical he was. Invincible.
Nah it was because he never fought any decent boxers. The fights should have lasted longer if they were actually meant to last longer. Once Tyson actually fought decent boxers (Douglas, Holyfield, etc) the fights lasts 10+ rounds and ended with Tyson on the canvas or being DQ's for biting people's ears off
I remember one fight- Probably it was 1988, and it was like $50 to watch the fight (which is like $150 today) and it lasted 90 seconds. Plus, because it was so short, they showed the entire fight on the news later for free.
You could tell Tyson was really holding back in the ring. He wasn't exaggerating when he said he was purposely trying NOT to knock him out. I think Tyson could've ended him in a few rounds if went for real with him.
Yup, exactly. in a 15 second street fight, Tyson literally broke his face and knocked him the fuck out. I firmly believe he was toying with him in the ring to punish him for being a fuck.
Everybody talks about the mad power Tyson had, but his skill to avoid being hit is what should be most admired.
His weave, duck, then sling a punishing hook, knocked many a man down. And several of them, didn’t stand back up.

I think losing Cus did that to him

Cus kept him grounded, would have worked him harder, kept him away from all the bloodsuckers like Don King.

Once Tyson actually fought decent boxers (Douglas, Holyfield, etc) the fights lasts 10+ rounds and ended with Tyson on the canvas or being DQ's for biting people's ears off
@@philwalters3579 yeah and Muhammad Ali was the same too but they was most definitely the greatest boxers of times even the ones you mentioned 💯
imagine how the other boxer felt....
I remember one fight- Probably it was 1988, and it was like $50 to watch the fight (which is like $150 today) and it lasted 90 seconds. Plus, because it was so short, they showed the entire fight on the news later for free.
that ending were they both laughed after all those years and everything that happened between them was amazing
It was truly wholesome, puts a good smile to my face and makes me reminisce how beef has dropped between me and my bullies.
Understanding and empathy is the key to healing!
You could tell Tyson was really holding back in the ring. He wasn't exaggerating when he said he was purposely trying NOT to knock him out. I think Tyson could've ended him in a few rounds if went for real with him.
The street fight Tyson had with him proves you are correct
Shit happens
Tyson was punishing him, didn't try to get the KO.
Yup, exactly. in a 15 second street fight, Tyson literally broke his face and knocked him the fuck out. I firmly believe he was toying with him in the ring to punish him for being a fuck.
Totally agree, 100% legit. Even if he decided to plank old boy in the tenth, Mike would've had to deal with dem"Bloods"!
Everytime mike got hit mike hit him way harder 😂
