99.9% of people would have been dead by the end of this fight. Ribalta’s toughness is incredible. He gritted his teeth and ate some of the strongest punches that pro boxing has ever seen. And the best part is that he was never knocked out. He was knocked on his ass multiple times, but he refused to lose consciousness. Insane physical and mental fortitude.
The fact that Ribalta was able to walk away without brain damage after getting pummeled like that is a testament to his toughness. Tyson was pounding him like he wanted him dead for 10 rounds.
Cuban boxers are known for their toughness. Nobody does better than them in Olympics and AIBA. Its a shame they dont get the opportunity to make money in the pros.
Amen. I'm sure there's permanent damage from that bout. Ribaltas brain feels it now. CTE. Sometimes better for it to end quick vs. get battered like that.
Mad respect for Ribalta here. He did what very few humans on earth could do, go 10 ten rounds with Tyson in his prime. the strength and resiliency it took to do this is off the charts.
The fact that Tyson could keep his foot on the gas for 10 rounds and not slow down is insane. Hitting with that much power and maintaining the agility he did, the greatest heavyweight of all time.
@@tbl5138 tyson in his absolute prime would have destroyed both holyfield and lewis. those women, prison, losses and stupid life choices killed the heavyweight mike tyson. i guess we will never know what could have been, but mike was at his weakest when he fought lewis and holyfield.
Tyson was the fastest heavyweight ever Definitely not the hardest hitting though When he fought really skilled big heavyweights and the fight wasn’t fixed that weren’t scared of him If he wasn’t on his A game he would lose easily
@John Dough Snoring anything before the fight not gonna help you to have energy on the 10th round... you can snore something to burn the energy faster but that gonna also make you look even more tired after 9 rounds... That was all about the hard work that Tyson did before the fight in the gym.
He’s so compact man, not the biggest boxing fan but Mike fighting style has always fascinated me. The power and burst with each punch. They land like flying meteors.
Fully motivated 20yr old Tyson was invincible. Not only was Mike an offensive machine but his defense was just as good. Shout-out to Ribalta for enduring one of the harshest beatdowns I have ever witnessed. It's a pleasure binge watching Mike Tyson's legendary fights through 'BLTV Classic'
Yes he was considering that the heavyweight division was full of cupcakes. His record is full of bums and guys past their prime. Yet when he fights legit fighters he lost. Had he continued to fight the way Cus taught him it might have been different. From his loss to Buster which he got out boxed he was a head hunter and nothing more. I know buster was counted out…but boxing is crooked and they didn’t call it so it’s a mute point.
After Tyson came back from Jail.. None of it is Prime Tyson. He changed his fighting style completely. You look at it like Tyson couldn't beat legit Legends... I look at it like Legit Legends never fought 1980s Tyson.
@@papag5433 Tyson only started to loose after he passed his prime. He was never the same when he became older. It also seems like the problems in his marriage with Robin Givens was affecting his mentality. After he came out of jail he was never the same again.
I was one brother.. I'm 43.. as a teenager..my uncle's use to go by my cousin's house because this fight was one you had to order..and have pay per view.. Only my older cousin had that .so all my uncle's and friends piled up in the house to watch the pre coverage, and arena entrance of Iron Mike Tyson ..man let me tell you even as a 14 year old when the lights dimmed and Tyson walked in the atmosphere in the building changed as if a Lion or Pitbull was in there.. Tyson had a formidable presence no like any other...to this day no fighter captured the mind and made you awe at the walk to the ring like Tyson... But nothing about his entrance disappointed what he did in the ring...his fights were intense and savage... Though some of his fights lasted only a few rounds he had you thinking out of 2000 men in that arena no one could match him...1 man vs 2000 men..one by one that is...all would get killed by Tyson..dude was something to behold in his prime...yes you have RUclips...and I'm glad you smart enough and able to know and appreciate how good of a fighter Mike Tyson was...all of the old heads today know he filled up seats back in the days..even Donald Trump made a debut in a few of his fights before the fight
I saw some of them on TV when I was very little as I was born in 86 and am 36 years old now. Tyson was the most famous person on the planet for a while, and the most beloved too. He was terrifying, but seemed like such a genuine guy too. You can just tell watching a person whether they are genuine or not, and even with all the stuff Tyson went through I always had a feeling Mike Tyson wasn't a bad guy, even when the whole world hated him in the late 90's/early 2000's era. Now everyone loves him again thank goodness, and its nice to see people appreciate his legacy too.
Iam 48. I was 12 in 86. UK, My dad and bros all followed the boxing . I remember watching Mike doing what he does and being genuinely scared of there being such a ferocious human on the planet. ( The media obviously pumped him as such too of course). After watching him destroy some giant I'd lay in bed scared. It felt like he was some kind of immortal unstoppable beast. A different species from a different world. Man was a living T-Rex to me when I was young.
@@casedistorted I was always sad he went to prison. It might have been a message from God, or the universe, but it seemed to have helped him find his center because we was far less angry at the world then. Some may say that's a downfall but, I like to think it was his path to finding himself and not ending up doing something horrible to someone else out of anger. But at the time the world did lose a lot of love for him and he really didn't have a voice. I love seeing the love he has today compared to back then.
You've got to respect anyone who can go (almost) 10 rounds with Mike Tyson in his prime. Absolutely insane. It must have been something to see in person!

This post fight interview proves how professional and classy Mike Tyson was in the early stages of his career. Don King and the boxing industry broke him; that's when all the crazy talk and ear biting comes from. If Gus could have lived throughout Tyson's career, we'd be talking about Mike like Ali pt II; people want Mike to sound silly, but he's been a wise man.
Oh my lord the sound of those THUDDING punches are just unreal! The endurance to fight like that for 10 rounds..i see so many boxers today struggling with not even 10% of what mike did back then..the output, the cardio, the movement, the freakish power. I just love to watch tysons 80s fights man! 🔥🔥🔥

It's amazing watching reels from fights from a time I wasn't even alive in. Had me standing out of my seat, I couldn't believe my eyes. The power, speed, stamina and concentration was like something out of legend. Watching Tyson fight in his prime motivates me like nothing else, impeccable.
I feel you...in my opinion this version of Tyson was the best heavyweight of all time. The power, stamina, combos, speed etc its just unmatched until this day.
A lot of people remember Tyson in his prime for aggression and early knockdowns. But he was a far far more skilful boxer than he’s usually given credit for. He got the early knockdowns because he usually chose the right punch/combination. Had fantastic instincts and knew when to go for the kill. As fast as he was powerful too.
@@jaybee4288 well jheeeze are you a professional critic? You really thought outside the box on this one. 🙄. No one knew Mike had skill before you just said it tbh
I can't believe this guy didn't get more credit for being the only living punching bag for Mike Tyson. The sound of those hits were insane. Mike's sparring partners didn't want to spar with him but this guy took 10 rounds of Tysons strongest. Unreal.
There's a certain moment in Mike's matches where his opponents realize they've entered the ring with Death. You can see it in Ribalta's eyes early on. But the man just kept getting back up over and over again. Can't give enough props to the man with that much physical and mental toughness.
The heat on the shots at 4:50 and 6:20 is truly why boxing died. No one could top this level of intensity. He literally fought like he was gonna get executed if he lost every time out. Nobody does that now.
True that. People like Mike fought because they truly loved boxing. Nowadays, people fight because they love the pay pack that comes from a boxing match and then they make contracts so there's always a rematch with all the money involved. There's no passion for boxing anymore and those Fury clowns are the biggest reason boxing has gone to shit
Tyson was INSANE!! The most aggressive, vicious figher ever, and it's not even close. He was a human pitbull. But you gotta give Ribalta props for lasting so many rounds.
Actually he once said that himself. He was interviewed once where he basically was saying he is the the most Ruthless vicious aggressive etc etc fighter in history.
It really demonstrates Tyson's freakish level of fitness that throughout the fight he was relentlessly throwing power punches. A single 3 minute round of punching mitts in boxing classes can stuff lots of people and those aren't punches that could knock out a heavyweight. Big punching, time after time after time, for 10 rounds is unbelievably grueling, but Tyson didn't even look puffed. What an incredible athlete.
It stuffs most people. Even moving around for three minutes while keeping one's arms up the entire time and not throwing a single punch, but just making a conscious effort to keep the arms up and moving them from side to side and moving one's head in different directions at the same time is taxing when one hasn't practiced it frequently. Boxers are great endurance athletes.
What gets me is the sound of a whiffed punch, that I'd argue is actually really telling not to mention terrifying. At 5:03 it sounds like a speeding car, every impact of a landed punch is the crash, but with the whiff you get such a sense of how insane his momentum is.
Ya, and it's a funny thing about every generations heroes... My dad is a huge Ali fan (aren't we all), but I mentioned that prime Tyson would have destroyed Ali, but he just can't hear it. He said that Tyson wouldn't be able to hit Ali. Ya right. Ali would be out in round 1. No question. It's just a different game. In Ali's day, it definitely was a sport... Tyson took it to a different level of wanting to completely fuck you up, pardon my french.
I remember watching this video a year ago when I was struggling.. Seeing this has brought tears to my eyes. I live much different life now and this video is still here to remind me of how far I have come. Never give up in life. No condition is permanent

The fact that Tyson kept up the ferocity in the closing rounds is astounding. With the speed, power and aggression displayed from the get-go, you'd imagine he'd be drained after 3 rounds, but he keeps on going. An absolute monster of a fighter.
@@willhooke yeah it's insane. Did a bit of sparring in the military, and was surprised by just how tiring it was. Normally we'd all be pretty drained after 4 or 5 two minute rounds. It's excellent cardio to say thr least.
Mike Tyson used a new boxing training system, wich included working and focusing more on speed and endurance, that´s why he is fresh on round 10 and moves like Bruce Lee. Even Tyson had a special neck training to prevent knock out... Check his Neck size and compared it with his oponents... Tyson was ahead at its time, thats why is called the best boxer of all history. 😁
his short reach makes his punches be thrown extremely rapidly. and you can't stop him from getting inside. him being so close, hard to see him... it's like being ravaged by a hurricane.
To be punching that hard with that pace in the 10th round is incredible. Especially after absorbing a lot of blows from a giant like Ribalta. Compare that to the way that late career Tyson faded after the first 3-4 rounds, it's the difference between a dangerous fighter and an all-time great.
Right. That's why I stay true to my belief that Mike was the very best the sport has seen. He took his disadvantages and made them into assets in the ring. As far as entertainment value, he took that one too. Nobody is more fun to watch IMO,
@@noahcarver6072 Well the thing is, imagine being a major part of Tyson's highlight reel, and most importantly the pinnacle of his own career is losing to the biggest name in the heavy weight division as "the guy that could do the impossible".

The Ribalta fight, for me, is Tyson's most-underappreciated and one of my favorites. It showcases all of Tyson's strengths: combos, slipping, countering. If you want the best fight to watch to analyze Tyson in-depth, I think Ribalta is top 3.
Wow. I've seen Tyson's fights before, but when he got frustrated that his opponent was so tough, he really put on an impressive display. There's nothing you can do against a man like that, no matter what size you are. Delivering some of the world's most powerful blows and being able to do it all match.
No body I mean absolutely no body beats this version of Mike Tyson .. He had it all power, stamina, head movement, combination punching, an absolute beast …. If Tyson would have took he training more serious & never left Rooney & Atlas he would have been the best heavyweight ever.
Mad respect to Ribalta for jumping up after that massive uppercut that would have ended most opponents. The fact he made it through so many rounds with Mike in his prime is a testament in itself. Even Tyson gave him the respect he deserved after the match.
Never seen this fight before. The amount of punishment absorbed by Ribalta and he still came back for more is just staggering. Holy crap! Just one of those punches would have sent me to an alternative universe.

Man, you’ve got to really appreciate seeing Tyson at the tip top of his reign. I was 10 years old when this fight took place and can remember me and my dad watching it together. That was a great time to be a fan of sports, with people like Tyson and Michael Jordon performing at god-tier lol.
I love how you hear the sound of the punches and the hits with the low amount of background noise from the crowd. It sounds so raw, so intimidating. I love it!
That uppercut would break an average person's neck. This is one of Tyson's best fights to showcase just how great a boxer he was. His skills are still underrated by a lot of people.
don't believe his skill is underrated by anyone who know boxing, Tyson was a beast with skills. Sadly, ruined by bad greedy assholes who only wanted to fill their pockets. Yes, you too Don King.
It's always funny when poeple say Tyson Fury would stand a chance against Mike, Iron mike in this match was a destroyer of men, his ferociousness was unrivalled and nobody has come close to this man ever since.
Holy crap... i have never seen such a brutal display of Tysons power and endurance, i truly was bewildered with how 8 rounds in he can throw such thunderous right hooks and combos so fast and powerful. What you said about how the first upcut would knock out 99.99% of the human race was chilling and that wasnt anything special for tyson. GOAT.
You can't say in on advertised RUclips video channels anymore, but BLTV alluded to death, the uppercut would kill 99.99% of the population through brain hemorrhage or a broken neck, not knock them out.
That was brutal. I was a teenager then and I was terrified of Mike Tyson and watching these now I''m even more impressed. Mike one of the greatest of all time.
That is one insane dude just eating shots like nothing. A couple of those were KO's on a lot of boxers. Mike was just unstoppable. He didn't start sweating until the post fight interview.

How does one not simply pass away after getting hit like Ribalta did at 04:37, that uppercut/bodyshot combo has to be one of the most devestating I have ever seen.
Credit due to Ribalta. But it should be noted that many experts often wondered what type of stamina Tyson had since his very early fights didn’t go too far. This fight showed them his impressive stamina strength and cardio endurance. Great fight.
I don't think I've ever seen anyone take that many power punches and live, especially from Tyson. got to give Ribalta credit, he definitely has heart and a good chin, but props to Tyson for remaining professional post fight.
Damn, Mike was an absolute monster in his prime. That uppercut in round 2 was nasty! Good fight from ribalta, that man took those shots for 10 straight rounds. Much respect.
BIG TIME!...Tyson crumbled many a man with lesser shots...Never saw this fight but, it's one of Tyson's best and Ribalta is a BEAST for taking those bombs...
For any heavyweight with talent and potential (like Ribalta) who hit their prime between 1986-90, it was just bad luck. In Tyson’s era, everyone else was an afterthought
I never seen him throw combos like this his sppedvwas insane.Mike seeed to hold back against other fighters but as this guy kept getting up mike knew he needed to stop playing.he dominated the entire fight but the guy was made of steel.i never seen mike ever use combinations like that with such speed.every connection made the entire ring shake.
I think it's just as likely that this is phony, and that man was paid to get beat up. I mean come on, that beast could practically have put one hand on Mike's forehead, and use the other to toy with him. Phony.
Agreed. Somebody help me out... I see the mouthpiece get knocked out at 6:24... what was that getting knocked out of his mouth at 6:35? Looks like a bottom denture or something...
@Zoran ...Yes. Heck, he might be DIAMOND Jaw. Cuz i counted at least 10 punches in the 8th round alone that would have put any other fighter to sleep...and Jose STILL wasn't out, he was ready for more. Did any other fighter ever take that many straight shots from Mike and still be standing in the end?

Tyson, the speed of a middleweight and power of a heavyweight. He was the perfect storm, storming the heavyweight division with noting no one has seen, nor has seen since. ☝️😎
Evander Holyfield was WAY better than tyson . Tyson ducked Holyfield for five years (turned down multiple offers) , waiting until he thought Evander was “past his prime” and still badly lost 2x’s ,and then there’s buster douglas TRUTH . And the rest is marketing
@@guysumpthin2974 the truth is when Tyson met Douglas………he was in no mental shape or mindset to fight. Robin Givens destroyed Mike emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. Tyson was so in love with Robin Givens and she totally ruined his head before that fight. Mike was going through the divorce or started the proceedings? Look at Mike’s face while he was walking out of the locker room toward the ring against Douglas……….his mind was blank about fighting. He wasn’t focused at all. And Douglas was more focused on this fight more than any other. Douglas mother had passed and he was focused on winning for his mother. Tyson wasn’t focused on winning or fighting or nothing. Tyson was defeated mentally before entering the ring. And Holyfield? Tyson was already starting to decline at this point of his career. His skills weren’t as sharp like they were while he was under Kevin Rooney, his coach. Kevin Rooney was fired by Tyson because Rooney was minding Mike’s business too much about his marriage with Robin Givens. Rooney knew what was best for Tyson and Rooney knew Givens was ruining Tyson’s head and that she was trash. But Tyson was p whooped and didn’t listen to Rooney and didn’t like Rooney telling him what to do, so Tyson fired Rooney. Kevin Rooney kept Tyson’s skills sharp under everything Cus D Amato taught Tyson. Kevin kept Tyson under Cus’s coaching in head movement and slipping and pivoting movements…….but when Tyson fired Rooney he shot himself in the foot without realizing it. Tyson slowly devolved with less slipping and head movements to becoming more of just a brawler and puncher. If you watch Tyson against in his series of fights against Razor Ruddock…………you’ll see he was just going out there and slugging it out with a lot less defense and slipping punches……….then when he met Holyfield……….he was even worse……….And besides, Holyfield was clinching too many times in both fights………he was afraid too exchange with Mike………so he clinched and waited for Mike to tire out before he started punching or spending himself. I didn’t give Holyfield credit for those wins, he mostly clinched Tyson. That’s why Tyson bit his ear due to the frustration of the clinching. If Holyfield wanted to fight instead of hugging Tyson would of had no anger or opportunity to bite his ear 👂. Tyson did it out of frustration due to all the clinching Holyfield did.
Two observations from a boxing novice: 1. Tyson has some sort of ESP that allowed him to dodge on an inhuman level. It's hard to tell Ribalta's power when he doesn't land any solid shots. 2. The amount of abuse Ribalta took is absolutely insane! The liver punches, the uppercuts that would break the average man's neck, total carnage. And he stayed standing. Just incredible endurance there.
Yea most people don’t understand how fragile we are, mike Tyson could easily and I mean easily could kill you with one solid punch. And these guys just are suppose to live like it never happened 😂
Not to take anything from Tysons left hand but I don't think he was attacking the liver as much as trying to open up the face. However that right hand to the body... Ouuuuch
If Tyson in his prime had trouble knocking out Ribalta (although it was a TKO) and despite the fact that he hit him with all his power, combinations, and gave it his all in that fight (said by himself) and still Ribalta kept getting up and giving battle, imagine Mike facing Muhammad Ali. Ribalta is not even 20% of what Ali was, and Tyson himself said that he was his toughest opponent. I love Tyson, but if in his prime he couldn't knock out boxers like Tony tucker, James smith, James tillis or Mitch green, there was little he could have done against a boxer as intelligent as Ali and who faced rivals like Liston x2, Frazier and Norton x3, Foreman, Ron Lyle, Shavers, Jerry Quarry etc.
It wasn't ESP. It was training. Tyson went through lengthy sessions in the gym where he did nothing but defensive moves. It looks magical because he was so good. Ali was also great at dodging punches when he was young. As he got older he wasn't so good and started clenching his opponents. You saw what happened with Tyson when he got older and slower. He resorted to dirty tricks.
This video is not 9 minutes long - I can’t imagine a single person here didn’t rewind to see those devastating combos many times. Class videos as per usual.
At 6:20 Mikes opening combination is just a complete destruction. How that man was still standing after this attack is incredible. Any normal man would be dead.
Exactly had I not been boxing for 11 years that shit would have looked like straight blurs lol even, still I can barely keep up the man is a different breed. Like the power+speed+stamina? Few could say they ever beat iron Mike.
For the life of me, I will never understand how anyone walked away from a punch by Tyson. Boxer or not. His punches always looked murderous. I hurt just watching. I’m shocked he even had losses on his record. So quick and violent.
The average person would get knocked out and have brain damage but I doubt they’d die from a single punch from him unless they hit their head on the way down, I do think it could be possible tho Idk
His punches look like hydraulic industrial equipment. I don't understand how anyone could have walked away from that, much less got back up to continue the fight.
Watching Mike Tyson in his Prime swinging and hitting someone who doesn't just get sent immediately to the Shadow Realm is impressive. Though you can start to see the fear in that man's eyes when he realizes just how fast and accurate Tyson is. This is the scariest and most fearsome boxer on the planet during this time. Tyson is still my favorite, getting to see him live on TV when I was a child was such an amazing experience. The part that makes Tyson so terrifying is he is still hitting just as fast and hard in the late rounds as he was in the first round, with deadly accuracy. Those punches are so fast you barely have time to react too. I really respect Tyson too for what he says at the end of the fight at 7:30. You can tell he has respect for the man for going the distance with him and taking such insane punches. When he finally knocks the guy out in the 10th round the look on his face is just like "finally, jesus"
Match of the century would have been Tyson and Ali. I would have bet on Ali but who knows. Maybe someday someone will program a computer to show who would win that fight.
The right to Ribaltas body made his mouth open!! Ooof! Then Mike does it again plus an uppercut...like chopping wood! Tough man, Ribalta, to take half an hr of that punishment ffs!
@@wheelerzg76 Tyson was fast, accurate, and powerful and made himself difficult to hit. Ali was extremely fast, great reflexes, and stayed out of reach. It would be like Ali fighting a super Joe Frazier. I'd put my money on Ali just because of his reach and floats like a butterfly. I don't think Iron Mike could handle that. And more important, Ali was a great man, perhaps the greatest man on the planet in the 20th century. You stay safe in Croatia, Azriel.
Why is nobody talking about this even in slow motion that's fast like wtf imagine a regular dude taking that. Your just gone faded away Like seriously that is a superhuman feat right there. with the amount of mass his muscles would have to contract under.

The whole "Love it or hate it *BUT* " statement that people think is somehow insightful is just the sign of an idiot, full of sound and fury, desperately wishing to find a word for what little intellect they think they have.
Can’t take away the toughness from Ribalto because Tyson hit him with hard and lighting fast combos and Ribalto still kept on coming, but I’m glad the ref called that fight Ribalto was on a mission to win and Mike was on a mission to destroy… Never seen this match before… Thanks for sharing it👍
@@kbanghart , .. OR temporarily dizzy but not badly hurt!...went 8 rounds so I believed him. Hero Tyson;s punches were incredibly sharp but they are not the hardest. (Larry Holmes said something like that)
I’m more impressed with Mike’s endurance. The post fight interview must have been a couple minutes after victory and he wasn’t breathing heavy at all. Sure he was drenched in sweat, but damn 10th round and swinging with that much power? Incredible.
It wasn't all sweat. I am no expert but I belief they soak themselves in water before the Fight. You can see he is completely wet before the fight started. He sweated a lot no doubt but it's hard to tell how much.
He was in his best shape of his career at around 210 to 215 lbs. This was the perfect weight for him to have stamina and speed. Also when he was focused his training regimen would have gave him tons of endurance.
Every time I watch a Tyson fight I am STUNNED by how incredibly good this man is, truely one of the Top 5 Boxers of all time in terms technique, speed, power, ferocity (the Top 1 or 2 in my opinion). Tyson is often spoken off as a pure power-striker, but you can tell he is thinking, aiming, dodging, his reflexes are OFF THE CHARTS.
Yeah your a casual tyson Is good but he the best fighters he fought were 2 larry holmes and spinks while there are countless other boxers with way better feats 1:55
It still astounds me just the sheer canon barrage that Tyson can sustain for an entire match. He doesn't let his opponents breathe, meanwhile he doesn't seem to run out of breath himself. What an athlete

If you look at every heavyweight in their primes, fully committed and ontop of their game, Mike is ontop by a mile. He was incredible like this. Astonishing power, speed, intelligence, viciousness. Still haven't heard shots contact like Mike's shots
The videos we watch on here with mike against heavy weight contenders look so mismatched as far as conditioning and physique especially. Most of them look like flabby bar room brawlers. I don’t know boxing too well but man, I’m so sick of hearing guys like mayweather saying they’re the best fighter in the world when mike Tyson is still alive. Even if he could dodge and dance around, mike would probably land a few so,I’d ones and send thst punk to the canvas.
@@MisterMister5893 I partially agree with you. Mayweather is another boxing phenomenon, just like Mike, (even though I think he is frustrating to watch). Mayweather has faced some big hitters in his weight class (canelo, cotto, maidana). None of them landed a knockout shot. Maidana came close!
Foreman used to make shots that boomed too even at 42 years old, when asked Holyfield said that foreman hit harder than tyson too. Tysons speed was and still is phenomenal for a heavyweight though.
The key was Tyson's power, maneuverability, combos, and was just a pit bull. He coasted on the power leading up to loosing to Douglas and then after. I see people say Lewis and Holyfield could still beat him the same way they did later...not a chance. Prime Tyson with good training and that level of stamina could have got inside and thrown those powerful combos. I often have to remind myself a fight is a moment in time. At that time boxer A was better than boxer b, meaning there were nights where Lewis could have beat Tyson, but I think far more the other way around.
How the hell did he tank 10 rounds of those shots Ribalta has an incredible pain tolerance and more surprisingly how can the post interview remark be so dumb? The round 10 shots looked as deadly as any other punches he threw. Tyson was so deadly man...
@@adofonconi9753 it's not my own experience, just what someone said who fought these guys. Can't seem to remember who, but I'll get back to you when I do. Point is, he says he thought he's dying. Whole portions of his body going numb and only registering the punches coming after the first few by the sound of the jackhammer thudd when they connected.
If Tyson was fighting in a different era like today, he'd destroy the entire heavyweight division because today's boxers are nowhere near his power and ability.
Sonny Liston would smash him. And this is something even Mike Tyson would admit. Also a prime Lennox Lewis could beat 8 out of 10 times a prime Mike Tyson. Evander Holyfield could also beat Tyson, both in their primes. And of course Vitali Klitschko with his granite chin. I don't even mention prime Muhammad Ali who would make Tyson look slow.
I love the presentation of these videos man. I'm a casual boxing fan, but these videos have gotten me more into the sport. These videos are fascinating. You gotta love Tyson, this man was a wrecking machine. Anyone who got in the ring with him was taking their life in their own hands.
Half of the contenders these days wouldn't have enough balls to step into the ring vs Mike. There will never be a fighter like him, so good at so many things.
@@MohawkItalian76 yeah it was a helluva time to be a fan. There was nothing like a Tyson fight, the excitement he created.. I don't think theres been anyone that could do that the way his fights did since.
The 80's Mike Tyson had the greatest 5 years of any boxer in history. During his undefeated streak of 37-0, 17 were 1st round KO's. Muhammad Ali, the man most say was the greatest fighter in history, had only two 1st round KO's his entire career. The booze, the women & prison ruined Mike, but during his first 5 years, he was greatest boxer ever IMO.
Ali was much more than a boxer in his time. He was fighting during a time when black people were going through a tough time in American history. He fought for his people, he was a leader, his personality and charisma made him much more than a boxer. That is why people regard his as the GOAT.
Bro come on.. as much as I love Tyson he fought bums early on so of course he’d have big kos. Just like wilder has a crazy ko ratio cos he fought bums. And since when does power mean you’re the goat? Ali beat the biggest punchers in history
Also his style probably gave him the most power among any style bending down and launching off those tree trunk legs at the chin of a taller man was deadly

I was in my 30's and saw just about every fight live including the Larry Holmes ear incident.
@@casedistorted I was always sad he went to prison. It might have been a message from God, or the universe, but it seemed to have helped him find his center because we was far less angry at the world then. It stuffs most people. Even moving around for three minutes while keeping one's arms up the entire time and not throwing a single punch, but just making a conscious effort to keep the arms up and moving them from side to side and moving one's head in different directions at the same time is taxing when one hasn't practiced it frequently. Mike Tyson’s uppercuts are a sight to behold. Still get chills looking at his raw power he exerted onto his enemies.
Tyson, the speed of a middleweight and power of a heavyweight. He was the perfect storm, storming the heavyweight division with noting no one has seen, nor has seen since. ☝️😎
Tyson had a special training system which was never seen before. More focused on speed, moves and endurance.
@@guysumpthin2974 and, by the way, James Toney made easy work of Holyfield, Toney was an original middleweight.
@@guysumpthin2974 😭u done pal
now this, is a tyson fight.
Well said.

For the life of me, I will never understand how anyone walked away from a punch by Tyson. Boxer or not. His punches always looked murderous. I hurt just watching. I’m shocked he even had losses on his record. So quick and violent.
His punches make gunshot sounds, it's terrifying to watch
@chetsenior7253 of course they're tough, but Mike Tyson was even tougher
The gloves help
And Tyson was usually the smaller guy in all his fights
At 5’10 and 220 he was a rather small heavy weight
Mike the giant slayer
I caught that look too xD Tyson had to admit the man was tough

Foreman used to make shots that boomed too even at 42 years old, when asked Holyfield said that foreman hit harder than tyson too. Tysons speed was and still is phenomenal for a heavyweight though.
@@robessell that's a valid point. I think foreman hit very hard. I guess tyson just had the combination of virocity, power, technique and speed.
