Holyfield would have been beat by mike under cus. When he was 15-19 Ammiright 🙄
Tyson ducked Holyfield forever fought bruce seldon. And buster. Even Lennox who was number 1 contender back then.
Tysons found time fight frank Bruno twice. And razor rusdock. No time for Holyfield well after he fought 3 wars in a year and was knocked out and looked horrible in the third bowe fight.
Didn’t fight Mercer. Foreman. Morrison. Lennox holy bowe. Golota. Tua. Klitschko. Byrd would have killed him. Ibeabuchi would have James Toney would have boxed him up.
He should have been dqd 5-6 fights in a row as well but he was just handled like a baby or a spoiled brat with no consequence of actions
But man he killed a lot of second and third tier fighters.
Tyson is one of my favorites as he was one of the most exciting and dirty fighters. Not because he was the goat.
Maybe 4th or 5th best of his generation Lennox. Holyfield bowe Foreman would have beaten him as well. Foreman chased that fight and for all of these guys tyson wouldn’t fight them
Holyfield fought those guys 8 times.

Bro, I watched both fights and Tyson lost to Elbows and Headbutts and Politics. Evander should have been disqualified in Both fights, and ... I was actually at a College Kegger in New York for Holyfield vs Tyson 2, and I was saying early in the fight that Tyson was going to lose to Headbutts AGAIN and, that although I understand why the Public wanted him to lose at the time, he did not deserve a TKO loss on his record. Holyfield was a receding boxer because they called his Elbows and Headbutts for everyone BUT Tyson. I actually told everyone at that keg party that I would Low-Blow Holyfield if he butted me one more time. Biting his ear off.. I lol'd. F***r had it coming. Good of Mike to forgive him.

18:00 seeing the affection between these two after witnessing the carnage they inflicted on each other, almost makes me tear up. mike tyson is inspiring, not for his obvious ferocity and power, but he's one of the rare few i've ever seen that can go so far into rage and fury, but still is a sensitive and misunderstood complicated man. almost like a true warrior of old. seeing other videos and reading about his past, like his terrible history and the loss of his 4 year old daughter, seeing him cry and talk about pain, its heartbreaking. but its amazing to me that despite all that, he talks about changing himself to realize what is most important in life, in being a better man, questioning and reflecting on why he did what he did, and showing he meant no malice towards others like holyfield, like it wasnt really anger towards holyfield, but against mike himself

I always felt, having followed Tyson's career since I was a little kid, that he lost something in his style and technique when he fired Kevin Rooney and went with a whole new camp. I guess it was King who convinced him to do that, but that to me seemed like the true beginning of the end. His very first fight without trainer Kevin Rooney in his corner was the Douglas fight. We all know what happened there. Even though he won more fights, later on, his elusive style just wasn't the same.

@Will B if you really believe that, you’re stupid as hell. I agree it wasn’t his trainer that caused his downfall. I’ve already said the real reason in my previous comment on this thread. But Tyson was far from over hyped. Most boxes hit their prime in their mid twenties. Tyson was a unstoppable wrecking ball in his late teens. Demolishing everyone that crossed his path without so much as a proper challenge. Issue was, Boxing was something he only got into because of his adoptive father figure. It provided a outlet for his aggressive nature, and temporarily got him out of his street habits. But when said father figure died, he lost all drive and motivation, and fell right back into those habits. He cut back on training, and the more time past, the less training he did. He’s literally said all of this in a interview. Tyson was already the greatest boxer in history at 18, but he had given up on his boxing career in every aspect beyond officially quitting before he reach his prime age. Tyson wasn’t over hype, he just never truly lived up to his potential.

At the height of his career, Mike Tyson was a juggernaut. No question about it. if he had walked the line of an honorable heavyweight, who knows how long he could have reigned.

    • @whybri4593

Problem is “walking the line of an honorable juggernaut “ was not possible cuz you would have never seen the greatness you saw if he was that type of person. I don’t know if you could have had both. In not so many words. He was an animal with no regard for human life. That is why he was as great as he was. IMO

Holyfield fights...with his forehead...in every clinch & grapple with Tyson...in this fight.
However...in his prime, the man had huge knockout potential.
Tyson wasn't in his best form...both physically & psychologically in BOTH bouts.
    His knockouts arguably are legendary.
Both are great (probably the BEST) boxers in their prime (in that era) that NOBODY CAN DENY. Personally for ME it's favorably Tyson.
Just thought I'd "nibble on your ear" with this insight.

Two different fighters with different styles & strengths. Holyfield was a superb boxer-puncher, a true athlete, amazing mobility and haymakers punches and flawless technique.
Tyson was a phenomenal swarmer with an extraordinary body strength & punching power & handspeed. And on top of that: Also a switch-hitter who could confuse his opponent & open them up. Not the natural athlete that Holyfield was, but he was so well drilled and and had mastered his skills to perfection. one of the toughest to beat throughout his career, you had to be special to not lose early to Tyson.
I have the utmost respect for Tyson and he deserves his record if the youngest ever heavyweight champion, but for me a Boxer-Puncher as good as Holyfield is inherently better than any swarmer.

    • @MoAli-nv9cf
      @MoAli-nv9cf 2 года назад

He wasn't the same at all when Cus died. Then when Don King took over it was all over as is the case with Don King and any other fighter he managed. Also he was never the same after his prison release and was fair game for any boxer including a journeyman like Douglas. Not excuses but facts. In the rematch I guess Tyson was hungry for success.Lol

@@MoAli-nv9cf Tyson went to prison about 2 years after he lost to Buster.
Yes Mike went off the boil once Don had manipulated him to get rid of Rooney et al. But Buster was a damn good boxer in his own right when he got it together. And he was a boxer-puncher, which didn’t suit a swarmer like Tyson.

Only fight he ever showed up in shape for. Dude was a natural beast. But mentally not so much.
Buster could have been a true great if he'd had discipline. Hollyfield's greatest antagonist, Riddick Bowe, is another example. Bowe could have, would have, been the greatest boxer in the history of boxing if he'd been disciplined. Dude wouldn't even train for 3 months then show up and beat the piss out of hollyfield.
