These are my 2 favorite CHAMPS of all time. I was a teenager when the 1st fight happened. I was so excited! However, I missed the fight. I was in a car accident and in a coma. I lost one of my best friends (love you Bobby). Another friend that has struggled emotionally since. Another man that WE accidentally killed. Myself badly burned, amputated, and broken. I should have died to. I honestly have no idea how I lived through it. When I was finally able to sit in a wheelchair, this fight was rebroadcast on TV. I sat and watched the fight in the childrens hospital lobby in a wheelchair with my parents. I remember the feeling I had when the bell rang and the fight started. I was so excited. That evening all my pain, scared of future, sadness, washed away for that night. Watching my favorite 2 CHAMPS in the ring, game me hope. That was 20+ years ago and I remember it like yesterday. Thank you for this interview!!!
food guy who spoils movies and TV shows always have been. I guess you didn’t know. Been friends since kids. Smh. Just 2 brothers as warriors that had a thing that’s all.
I swear that Mike Tyson has got to be one of the greatest entertainers of all time! He was blessed with a rare special gift of mesmerizing charisma and talent. They’ll never be another Mike Tyson in this lifetime. This interview with Holyfield was great to see and I know Eb is soaking this all in. Nothing greater than 2 legends telling war stories. Holyfield is a lot like Joe Frazier to me. Two great champions for the ages who unfortunately for them, will be forever eclipsed by arguably the two greatest champions of all time in Ali & Tyson. Both Tyson & Ali were mesmerizing figures in and outside of the ring who gave their respective generations a magical experience. To date, their charisma and talent combined is unmatched. That stated, although I was always Team Tyson, Holyfield, much like Joe Frazier, won my respect in the end because he was and is a warrior! Respect to the champs! 🥃👊🏽💪🏼
Interesting to see Holyfield’s no quit attitude was instilled by his mother when he was young. This guy would practically fight to the death. Great athlete.
Evander ʼs like that uncle in a party who after a few drinks, starts recalling some of the most hilarious backwoods story which no matter how ridiculous it might sound, is actually true. 😂

She sure does. I grew up watching these guys and have the utmost respect for these gentleman! Love Your Podcast Mike! Im so proud of You and Your a huge inspiration for guys who have been through some things, the ups and downs of life! Thank You Mike!
The story Holyfield is telling, I'm amazed by Tyson's patience, by allowing his guest to speak for so long, making the show about him, not the presenters
Mike has the biggest heart. I love how he is genuinely interested in what EH has to say and listens without feeling the need to be the centre of attention.
@Livin Vids ....ironic thing about it is that u are the more soy boy in the room....if u get discipline for your momma u gonna get traumatized instead overcome and be a better person.....

”I never saw my mother happy with me and proud of me for doing something: she only knew me as being a wild kid running the streets, coming home with new clothes that she knew I didn't pay for." - Mike Tyson Story touched him and you can see it
Some people don't know Mike and Evander were good friends back in the '84 Olympics, after the infamous rematch they weren't for a while, but they are friends again. I always thought of this reconciliation as good for the sport and more important... Good for them.
5:06 The most important part of this is what Holyfield said her He basically spoke his future into existence. He said he would become champion of the world, for his Momma and he made it happen All the great ones do that, at one point or another.
Not that simple. Not all greats have the right time, health or upbringing. Luck has also to do with it: if you are lucky you have the mental strength to make wonders. But you still might be "one of the great ones" but you might have a much harder road to understand or appreciate your uniqueness enough to really train like a champ. Also having a strong delusions like believing strongly that God wants you to be the best - or whatever - helps. But if you cannot be deluded, it is harder. And I mean this being deluded in the best way possible. The more delusions you have, the more you are capable of handling this grim enterprise called life. Many candidates for greatness have looked life too honestly. Then the experience becomes unbearable and it will be much harder to accomplish your dreams.
hahaha/ that's a great idea. I was also thinking "WHITE BOYS CAN'T FIGHT!" based on this story - The irony. Or maybe... "THE HAUNTING OF CECIL COLLINS". hahaha
Seeing Mike Tyson doing so well makes me smile. Two amazing legends doing well in life, for hard hitting heavy weights they are in amazing condition. Peace Mike.
Holyfield is truly the greatest. He manifested his belief and desire since 8 years old into reality. Such a huge inspiration. "Evander Holyfield Heavy Weight Champion of The World"
Loved how Mike shook his head when Evander talked about those tournament days of two 3 round fights a day Tyson was all "Yeah that's how it was, it was a bitch" look on his face. You could see two true fighters reminiscing but also looking back fond of their roots knowing what's up. This is awesome.

People used to think “Boxers” were dumb brutes, but if listen to them talk… you will learn some of the BEST real world life lessons that will help you succeed and be humble. It’s truly Amazing. Thank you, Gentlemen 🙏
Also some of the older wrestlers are amazing philosophers.
because boxers and to an extent, fighters are exposed to hardship, struggle and pain. The pressure of fighting in front of a crowd, the uncertainty of how strong your opponent would be, the weight cutting, the discipline to work out. These guys may not be intellectually smart but if you expose a person to that kind of struggle then they're bound to get some wisdom.
Evander Holyfield should think of making a movie about his come up , the way he is telling his life story is really interesting
With so many boxing movies being done nowadays, this would be the best. His legacy is great
I would go see it
yeah his steroid use that brought him too heavyweight. Caught red handed when his phone number was in a steroid dealers phone who was arrested.

Tg Mathiz Dawg same here I’m 29 watching this on my laptop literally sitting Indian style. This dude is a great storyteller
Is there a part 2 to this?
Man, holyfield has a good memory. And he's a good storyteller.
Loved it, I had to go to the website to hear the rest of the story - he finally beat Cecil Collins.
yes, people like that surprise me, they remember facial expressions, sounds, what people said, how they moved and so on from years and years ago
@user-mo2sg8mf5k and after the punishment of boxing too. It was a blessing to hear him recall these things.
WOW THAT'S crazy bro.

That’s deep man 👌

Really goes to show the role of a good mother in a child's life

Holyfields story almost brought tears to my eyes. Deep
Evander ʼs like that uncle in a party who after a few drinks, starts recalling some of the most hilarious backwoods story which no matter how ridiculous it might sound, is actually true. 😂

The story Holyfield is telling, I'm amazed by Tyson's patience, by allowing his guest to speak for so long, making the show about him, not the presenters
This just proves sometimes the worst enemies can be friends!

Mike has the biggest heart. I love how he is genuinely interested in what EH has to say and listens without feeling the need to be the centre of attention.
Yeah, also during the Sugar Ray interview, he looked like a kid listening to the stories.
Classy.
True! Imagine Mayweather in this situation. He would have interrupted 100 times.

Nothing but respect for both of these champions.
Finally the words of wisdom. YES. To the both of them. Grown up folks still argue about which one is which. They are both icons.
How lucky do you gotta be to hear the words "is that a fantasy or a goal?" at 8 years old.. really important to instill the right messages to a child early
I met you MIKE along time ago... In Atlantic City. You mustv'e just came from training. And i saw you leaving out and called your name, you stopped and took a picture with me and a group of my friends. I appreciate you for that. THANKS AGAIN, CHAMP IRONMIKE

Tyson has really grown as a human being. This is lovely to see.
Just great to see these two champs alive and well. Getting on after their wars shows the strength of character they both have. Gentlemen too. Respect! 💯
Definitely best interview ever made on this channel
OMG I COULD WATCH THIS ALL DAY LONG!!!!! 2 OF THE WORLDS BEST BOXER'S BEING SO HONEST AND HUMBLE ABOUT HOW THEY WAS RAISED THAT MADE THEM REAL MEN AND LEGANDS AND GOOD FRIENDS FOR LIFE!! RESPECT!!!!!!
Felt Mike’s pain when Holyfield was talking about family and his momma at the beginnings could tell Mike was comparing his upbringing in his head.
That's exactly what I was thinking. He had a momma and mike had an addict.
Its good to see two people from opposite upbringing and a common interest come together and bond though
Mike was also thinking about Cus D'amato tho. "White man said I can be like Muhammed Ali.But I don't have much time left."
@@kareemrahman2795 yep. 👌🏽
You literally could see the wheels turning in his head. Also when Evander mentioned his upbringing in boxing, Mike was thinking of Cus D’amato.

I will say watching Mike Tyson listen to Evander talking about his mother ,I saw pain and sadness in Mike.
He truly is a humble man

”I never saw my mother happy with me and proud of me for doing something: she only knew me as being a wild kid running the streets, coming home with new clothes that she knew I didn't pay for." - Mike Tyson
Story touched him and you can see it
Evander needs his own podcast....."My Momma said" with Evander Holyfield
😂
That really is his catch phrase. He said it even more on jre
😂🤣
😢😢😭💀🤣
Evander Holyfield's character is not like Tyson. Tyson when he talks people listens. Its all due respect I am saying.
Some people don't know Mike and Evander were good friends back in the '84 Olympics, after the infamous rematch they weren't for a while, but they are friends again. I always thought of this reconciliation as good for the sport and more important... Good for them.
Tyson never went to the Olympics though.
5:06 The most important part of this is what Holyfield said her
He basically spoke his future into existence.
He said he would become champion of the world, for his Momma and he made it happen
All the great ones do that, at one point or another.
Exactly. Power of Attraction 🧲
Evander's book really should be called "Momma Said Knock You Out!"
hahaha/ that's a great idea. I was also thinking "WHITE BOYS CAN'T FIGHT!" based on this story - The irony. Or maybe... "THE HAUNTING OF CECIL COLLINS". hahaha
