And although there are no folding outside mirrors on the Palisade, they both auto-dim. Palisade also has heated third-row seats and massaging driver's seat in the Calligraphy.
Thanks for the feedback! This was a bit of an experiment for us. And you are 100% right, the dealership experience has a huge impact on ownership satisfaction.
Both cars are great. They were my 2 options when looking for a bigger car with comfy 3rd row. I ended up getting the Palisade because of my personal preferences, AND also because Kia dealers were charging almost double dealer fees than Hyundai...at least here in FL
I chose the Palisade over Telluride for a variety of reasons (including dealer mark up at the time), but some things to highlight that are not mentioned in the video: - Power operated 3rd row (vs. manual operation in the Telluride) - Rear climate controls easier to access for shorter folks (console vs. ceiling) - Ambient lighting (admittedly a Calligraphy-only trim) - More adjustable driver's seat (massaging & adjustable side support) - Heated 3rd row (if you care or have people back there frequently enough)
The format of this type of video is helpful. Lots of us respect your opinion, and instead of a long winded comparison(which is nice in some cases) the concise nature is great! I would love more videos like this!
We have a 2020 Telluride S with AWD. I like the square looks more than the Palisade. It looks more rugged than the Palisade. The Telluride has been amazing for us. It still looks great, and it's still a pleasure to drive. Kia hit it out of the park with this one!
I said the same thing. I currently have 2019 Pathfinder with that oval shape. The 2022 has the square look...I'm battling between the Pathfinder & Telluride.
While comparable Telluride's have a lower MSRP than Palisade's, in the real world; the Kia dealerships have more markup on the Telluride's than the Hyundai dealers do on the Palisade, meaning in real world pricing the Hyundai is often cheaper than the Kia.That also held true in pre-2024 comparisons of pricing for the Hyundai Santa Fe and Kia Sorento.
I own the Telluride 2024 XLine model! Not to be biased but I love my telluride and prefer the look of the Telluride. Love your reviews, keep up the good job! ❤
IMO the Palisade Limited is the best bang for your buck. You’re getting all the tech, leather seats and the better looking black grille. Cheaper than comparable Kia SX Prestige.
Agree on if you want Luxury features, Palisade is a better value. You can get a Heated Steering wheel on the mid-level Palisade SEL with Premium Package, where on Kia Telluride you have to go all the way up to the SX Prestige. Plus free maintenance.
This is like comparing the Chevy Silverado vs GMC Sierra. Same vehicle basically, with a few different accents. The differences are cosmetic at best. I've driven and/or owned both pickup trucks and currently own the Palisade Limited while my wife's friend has a Telluride so I've had the chance to examine all four vehicles. It really comes down to price and what co0smetic features fit your style.
Great review and a comparison that we've been doing as well (although we are also including the new Santa Fe in the mix). Comparing more luxury Features, the Hyundai Palisade seems to have an advantage. You can get a Heated Steering wheel on the mid-level Palisade SEL with Premium Package, where on Kia Telluride you have to go all the way up to the SX Prestige. Plus Hyundai also gets FREE 3 years / 36K complementary scheduled maintenance. In our region, the Kia dealers upcharge more than Hyundai so that seems to negate the small price differences. Definitely agree with you on liking the Kia styling better. Love your videos!
I'll go with you on the Telluride, just bought a 2024. I will say the one thing annoying me with it is the EPB engaging every time I turn off the vehicle. Wondering what will happen when it's in ice and snow and it freezes in the locked position... But love it so far.
I think y’all are head on with your comparison, I have driven both. I like the cup holders and extra console storage in the Palaside, however I like the style and room of the Telluride. One thing that I will mention is that my Telluride litigate is handsfree and I love it!! Telluride for a win for me and I’d never take mine off-road!😂
I sat in the 24 palisade and the 24 Telly and the Telly felt incredible to me. Bought the 24 Telly and it's been great EXCEPT the gas mileage has been poor like 12-16mpg in city.

We had the 24 Telluride SX Prestige it had a smooth ride, no issues. Then I test drove the 24 Palisade Calligraphy and traded in the Telluride, the interior of the Palisade is great, with the same features and ride as the Telluride. Plus I get the warranty and the free 3 year maintenance.
Keep the maintenance up, these have terrible QC. Head lights go out, trim discolors, burn oil, recalls. If you don't believe me Go ask any hyundai kia technician
I was also considering Palisade/Telluride a couple years ago when I was in the market for a mid-size SUV. I ended up buying an Outback and I am happy I did. Yes, kias and hyundais look nice when new, but brand reputation in my opinion is still behind the best japanese brands, and when its no longer new you are left with just kia/hyundai
They’re both great but I’d pick the Pallisade between these two as I prefer the design language, my personal choice in this segment would be a Pathfinder though
Test drove them both yesterday and today. The Palisade is my choice. The Hyndai dealer adds a lifetime front to back powertrain warranty to the Palisade. That's worth thousands.
I had a beautiful Dark Moss Nightfall 2021 Telluride with light grey interior, that my wife totaled :( We are looking again but apparently, to my frustration, Kia no longer makes the dark moss with dark trim with a light interior anymore. It seems all Kia makes is black interiors now and occasional brown, both of which do not do it for us. As a result, we are going with a Palisade.
local hyundai dealer advertising on line over $7000 off on palisade limited and calligraphy models that have been on lot for 60+ days. i don't need one but that's tempting
I like the look of the Telluride better than the Palisade because the Palisade looks like a Cadillac SUV. Don't like that wide C pillar on the Hyundai.
@@ALMX5DP but that’s the thing. Both of them are so well executed that it’s difficult. I would probably lean to the palisade but the Telly is just as good
No you wouldn’t This isn’t 1990. This is 2024. Hyundai Kia are making segment busting cars. Toyota is only making mediocre uncompetitive cars Hyundai Kia are the new Toyota
Honestly I had a Toyota before my Palisade, brand new Rav4, and had to take it to the dealer 4 times in less than 2 years for replacement of defective parts. I have had my Hyundai Palisade for 2 years, no problems so far. Plus you get 10 years or 100000 miles warranty, and 3 years of free maintenance at the dealer
If you look at the actual crash tests on IIHS, the telluride crashes better. Palisade has lower marks in certain categories for the driver and rear passengers
I have had my Hyundai Sonata for more than 11 years over 235,000 miles, and it still drives good. No major issues except normal wear and tear. I have gotten my money's worth. It still looks good. I don't buy new cars but ever 10-15 years anyway. All I need is for my car to give me 10 years and I'm good. I will get the Palisades as my next car.
Telluride wins on cargo feet but the Palisade wins with remote parking assist but only if you use it. So if you don’t use the remote parking then go with the Telluride but why would anyone not want to ding up their brand new car and not use the parking assist.
i dont like the look of the telluride is too square i love the look of the palisade and i think they are both roomie even though by looks in the outside the palisade seems to be wider
You’d have to get an RS or a ZL1 to compare to a mid model telluride. Plus the highest model of Telluride which has way better interior design than a zl1 traverse is about 2-4K cheaper. I was on the market for a traverse and opted to keep my 2021 telluride until the 2025 comes out. I sat in a traverse and it looked like shat.
@@JonMoralesLA So respectfully, it depends - we have 2 SUVs and a minivan - our Great Pyrenees can't jump up into the SUVs and at 120 lbs and still growing - he's too big to carry. But our Chrysler Pacifica (or any van with stow-n-go) - we simply fold the middle row into the floor and he steps up and rides comfortably. It's also roomier, rides better and is more practical than the SUVs - so we choose it over our SUVs for long trips. To each their own - but for on road use, the minivan nails the family needs.
what gets me is major reviewer magazines and such rate palisade right under telluride or 3rd or 4th under it. seriously it's that different? yet they say it rides the same and basically all the same features. kia must be greasing someone's palms. personally i think telly front end is hideous, not that palisade is all that great. people decide on a car because the DRL are amber instead of white? smh...
I think it's pretty clear from your video history that Evie wants the BMW 4 series convertible
The Palisade looks better IMO, and more features...Power 3rd row, I believe it has 2 more speakers and paddle shifters.
And although there are no folding outside mirrors on the Palisade, they both auto-dim.
Palisade also has heated third-row seats and massaging driver's seat in the Calligraphy.
I'm liking this format of quick comparison.
Also, one huge delineating factor is the dealership experience.
Thanks for the feedback! This was a bit of an experiment for us. And you are 100% right, the dealership experience has a huge impact on ownership satisfaction.
I'd never recommend a Hyundai because of the dealer experience. Kia is marginally better, but still better!
Don't go in there asking for like 15K off MSRP and you will be just fine.
