If that engine has a turbo it will consume oil, that's the way it works. If it doesn't have a turbo, then it shouldn't. Also 1 quart per 1000 miles is a lot, I would sell it asap.
@@thetruthyes VW 1.8/2.0 turbos consume no oil. the only case a turbo vehicle should consume oil is if the turbo is overheated glowing red from hard driving before the ecu pulls boost and timing
No mechanical or oil consumption issues with our 2022 SX Prestige Nightfall edition with 32k miles. We have noticed the discoloration/fading of the window trim and we’ve had all the recalls addressed. Other than that, we’re super pleased with ours. It’s comfortable, smooth, and powerful.
I mean, after looking at this video, I don't really see any big problems. Aside from the usual KIA melting engines. Had a 3.3 Sorento before. It's the same engine basically. When you repair your kia, you wish you had a Tesla.
@@bilboriches7216 I don't know if I got that far, or use Tesla as an example they have a lot of issues not on engines but everything else. I have co-working who got a model 3 and its been a nightmare of broken trim, electric door latches failures, and random noises. Also because Tesla doesn't have dealers network, and this area is outside of their mobile support. They have spend many hours driving to D.C area for service.
@@rx7driver1 bro, even a fiat should not give you any problem with only 32K. Please come back to us when your vehicle pass (if) the 100K. Still I really wish your car goes that path (the reliability one).
Wow so much for not to worry if your vehicle consumes 0.5 quarter per 1000 miles! I owns a 2009 Toyota Venza V6 with 294,000 miles and I have never had to add one quarter for the entire 5000 miles or changing oil again.
My 2021 hyundai palisade SEL premium is at 75k miles now and i only did an oil changes every 5k miles interval with quaker state oil as preffered by the model.now me and my wife is deciding to trade it in for new 2025 carnival since it has more room and good looking front end now.
And ohh,yes i also replaced the oil filter every oil changes.and already replaced the intake air filter & cabin air filter once.tires? I bought a custom 22inches wheels with new sets of tires after a year of ownership.
i have a 2020 Telluride. what kind of tires did you get? I was told the original Pirelli's aren't great, but I think the ride was great. I recently replaced with sime all weather Michelins which are great for bad weather, but have a noticebly bouncy ride.
Every modern vehicle will have 2 or more recalls in the first couple of years after manufacturing. It is usually supply chain side and rarely a the vehicle manufacture issue. Recalls do not bother me, it's when you have a 2 year old SUV that burns oil and overheats. That is something that would have me selling the vehicle for something dependable.
I own a 2020 KIA Telluride EX and I've had paint issues within the first year, but it only continued to get worse after the 3600 miles warranty and KIA refuses to correct the issue. Why? Turns out the paint isn't adhering to the body primarily on the front hood and along the top windshield area by sunroof. Second issue (MAJOR) Engine Overheating and all KIA initially kept saying at the dealership service center, "sorry we can't replicate the issue!" Meanwhile they allowed the engine to continue overheating where I have both photos and videos of this, and it occurs mainly when driving over 30-mins BUT they only driven the vehicle for a couple miles to simply let it sit and idle for several hours. ?? That's NOT driving the vehicle. I asked if it was the thermostat and was assured it was not as their computer system didn't indicate such. Short version, this caused my engine to warp and needed replacing!! Almost $10k and they actually tried to pawn it entirely on me to pay for! 🤨😡 I serviced the vehicle with KIA since day one and they gave me the sales spill of how they truly appreciate loyalty of customers like myself. But after this major flop, they refuse to honor any issues or services and LACK of Service to the vehicle! Next action is joining the class action law suit or file separately. Next MAJOR issue is the headlights, which the HighBeams went out and they also refused to fix it claiming some lame excuse(s) and that each light would need to be replaced at the cost of nearly $1,500 "EACH." Here's the sneaky part KIA didn't share with its owners... this is #1 a SAFETY ISSUE, not a warranty issue! Besides that... KIA attempted to keep this issue under wraps because they screwed up with faulty rubber seals around the headlight. To the point where they quietly tried to replace these on a number of vehicles without the customers knowledge and those rubber seals are also FAULTY!! Causing the shortage on the circuit board that operates the HighBeams and causes the bulb to blow! Which I've literally replaced more than several bulbs within a 4 yr window already. Yes, several bulbs as in more than 8. KIA's official answer to resolving and fixing this issue... they don't have an answer yet??!! Lastly, the transmission keeps slipping and vibrating and shaking briefly whenever accelerating after they replaced the engine where I was strong armed to pay 30% and they paid 70% when this issue was under the warranty! KIA pulled a fast break saying since this issue occurred again after the 100k miles (mind you... the same issue before and during the warranty phase) was not fixed as claimed and thus bringing it back again to realize they screwed up and caused the warping of my engine to be replaced. Any advice and assistance would greatly be appreciated. So, anyone on here reading... these are the Major Issues KIA is refusing to honor and if they refuse, we should sue them and make sure they fix these major issues!!! Engine Overheating, Bad Thermostats, Vibrating and Transmission Slipping and Shaking while Accelerating at low and highway speeds, Safety issues with Headlight (HighBeam) due to faulty rubber seals not being able to keep moisture out which cause bulbs blown and circuit board shortage. And finally POOR Paint "PEELING" on the hood and front upper portion of Telluride.
My mother is convinced she needs a palisade because she likes the looks, I'm trying to talk her into a grand highlander instead. I love the looks and it's well designed, but I had poor experiences with both hyundai vehicles I owned.
@qerbeynintendo I think it's just the opposite...23/24 tellurides seem to have more issues especially with having to do complete engine replacements not to mention quality co troll issues also.
Somewhat normal for a Kia/Hyundai vehicle from my understanding. I don't get why folks keep trying to act as if Kia/Hyundai they are Toyota or Honda level of reliability. I have owned 7 Honda's and 1 Toyota and none of them have had overheating, or burn oil at that rate even after the 10 year mark. Thank you for being honest and sharing your experience.
I mean, lots of brands have recalls. My Telluride had several and they were mostly just software updates and some window trim and took an hour at the dealer. Not a big deal and just a part of owning a vehicle, especially these newer ones that are basically computers on wheels. They're pretty reliable on the road itself, and Kia has a great 10 years 100K mile warranty so you don't really need to worry about it for the big engine stuff.
Kia and Hyundai's do have their engine issues. I think the key is the maintenance. They are a brand I would avoid messing with not completing RM in a timely matter. I see so many folks on the boards claiming they do everything and still have issues. Mine had issues and I can admit I was bad about the service and should have expected issues. People take that 100,00 mile warranty as carte blanche do what they want and that will cost them.
I have Kia telluride and have same issues over heating the service at 24mile they change the thermostat and flush the coolant but issue still isn’t gone. Went at 54 miles same issue they said change the radiator and issue still isn’t gone . Reliability sucks it’s true .
could be your fan. I had a car from the a similar brand, (Hyundai) and the fan had electrical issues. I fixed it myself by splicing the fan electrical cable and removing the bad part, replacing it with a good cable and issue was gone.
I had the same issue after I drove 2024 Telluride about 400miles. I went to Kia dealership and they changed the whole radiator parts. The issue has been gone till now. I hope you solved your problem too.
I have a 2023 kia telluride. I got it brand new!!! 29miles. I've been having issues the first 2 days of purchasing it. 1st. It was a recall for the passenger airbag & dashboard speaker. So, I was back at the dealership 2 days after purchasing my vehicle. 2nd, my fuel sensor kept saying low fuel even when it was full!! It would ask if I wanted to search for a gas station. The more I would drive, the bars would go back up to full. I made an appointment, but by the time I went in, nothing was happening, so they couldn't find any issues. Next, my foward collision sensor would come on saying that they were not working, so it would not prevent me from having any accidents. The service department is trach!!!! I filed a claim, but it was denied due to them never trying to fix the issues. Lastly, the drive shaft recall was fixed. Honestly, I haven't had any issues since. They also did an update on the electrical system
@ShareiaWiseman as the video author said on the minute 3:50 and my trusted mechanic said that the Secret with the all Kias/Hyundai are the Oil changes. I changed the Oil Religiously every 4 thousand miles(5000km) of my wife's 2022 Telluride with 45 thousand miles on it and never had any issues🙏🤩, Just change the Oil Religiously.
@diegoelet thank you for the information. I get oil changes, and all every few months. Next is my 15k mile service, so I don't believe that's the issue on my vehicle.
I had a 2020 telluride ex for 2 years. No issues at all. There was no oil loss at all between 5000 mile oil changes. I drove that sucker hard too. The only reason i got rid of it was because i wanted a Genesis GV70. I miss the room of the telluride. It was a great vehicle for me.
Modern bmws are actually surprisingly reliable. obviously not as good as Toyota, Honda and Mazda but they aren’t unreliable cars like their competitors Mercedes, Audi and pretty much any American automaker
Toyota and Honda are having their problems as well. Toyota had to replace 100k engines for the Tundra, LX600 and others. Honda has had issues with its 1.5T in the Civic and other vehicles with oil dilution, the wiring harness in the Civic which fails causing the alarm to go off constantly, their poor placement of the AC condenser causing it to get killed by rocks. The issue is manufacturers have been forced because of the Covid disruptions to use their 3rd, 4th, and 5th tier suppliers to make enough vehicles. Now its coming back to bite them.
It does say some Kia Telluride engines overheat, and many Hyundai/Kia cars burn oil. Some catch on fire because of a stuck front power seat motor. So, in a way, you are fortunate you aren't experiencing some of the recall problems. It is important you made this video to warn potential customers of possible problems. I appreciate it. I wish more car owners would so the same.
My mom has a telluride and she has had no issues after 4 years. She also has a 2010 kia soul with over 350K miles. No issues, about 2 years ago she drove it with almost no oil for a month on accident, still runs like a champ.
1 Qt per 1000 miles! That's insane. It would literally starve of oil and seize within an oil change interval and they consider that acceptable? FYI, this is somewhat of a guideline for nearly all manufacturers. Ford is the same...
My 2008 Ford Ranger with a 3.0 v6 doesn't burn any noticeable amount of oil in between changes. Keep in mind it has about 240,000 on the original drive train. It's a shame how poorly engineered modern vehicles are.
Just curious what the price difference was between the Kia and say a Toyota Highlander ? Why not spend the extra dollars to buy a more reliable vehicle? I just dont get it.
2020 Palisade (Limilted, AWD, tow package) here too. 85 thousand miles. Not burning any oil, always using synthetic. I tow our 3600 pound trailer with it too. The only problem so far has been the rear self leveling shocks but they’re covered under warranty to 60,000 miles.
Have a 22 Telluride Sx AWD and have had NO issues. Yes, I got recalls and had the work done, or item checked to see if it was a problem. None of recalls affected the reliability of my Telluride. I have taken a 6300 miles trip across the country and back, and had no issues. Great vehicle experience, I highly recommend the Telluride. One of the best cars I've owned, and I've own many new cars over the years.
Currently owner of a 21 telluride. I have experienced no major issues. It worth noting that I do my own vehicle maintenance with the exception of a recalls.
We have a 2020 Telluride with nearly 200,000 km and it has been a dream without any issues other than routine maintenance like brake pads. The other car in our lives is a Lexus and it has had twice a many recalls and one that now has our car on "don't drive until repaired". We also understand both Lexus and Toyota had a "stop build" on Grand Highlander and TX due to safey issue. Candidly, we have been far happier with our Kia than our Lexus and the service we have had has been far more timely and lots of support if they need the vehicle more than an hour or two..Lexus is hit or miss. Our experience does not match yours at all.
@@gmanbaz Uh, they just a had stop build/stop sell order on all TX (and Grand Highlanders with Toyota) for a massive safety issue/recall. They are also dealing with a valve issue that is about to blow up on them with a major recall.
@@michaeldavies4697 I'd still take a gamble with a Lexus over a Kia any day of the week. Kia is still unproven with durability and reliability and those engines catching fire doesn't help either.
@@tom11zz884people are gonna drive what they like but I agree with you 1000 percent I'll never choose Hyunda'si or kia over a Lexus anything but to each its own !
You said: "I haven't had this issue on my car...", that you've repeated for many items mentioned. A recall is made to prevent future possible issues. It doesn't mean that every car produced will experience these issues. Ask BMW SUV owners what their reliability rate is, not to mention the incredibly high maintenance costs, and you'll probably feel that you got a good deal with your Telluride.
i over the years have had 3 ford F150s two with the 300CI inline six and one with the 5.4 all three had over 340000 miles, one a 1993 had 444500 on it, never had to add oil between changes and were still running great, new cars are over over price, over engineered crap.
I owned a 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe. The engine consumed a quart of oil every 1000 miles. It was really noticeable with the exhaust pipe and integrated bumper housing around it. We did get 140,000 miles out of it with no repairs, but then one day it started getting these periodic heavy convulsing shuttering episodes and then if you turned it off and back it would smooth out. We traded it in after that before it got worse.
No car is perfect. I still like these. My way you like. I wouldn’t drive it anymore till the overheating issue was fixed and a tow to the dealer or mechanic shop of choice and get it fixed. Love your videos keep up the great work and have an awesome weekend.
I have been watching your videos. I will say I am at least glad they recall and fix these issues. We have 84,000 miles on our 2021 SX Prestige Nightfall. The burning oil is terrible. There is no reason it should burn that much. We buy new cars to drive for an extended period of time. We bought this to get our kids through high school with family trips. We have two, but my son is 6’2” so we wanted a larger vehicle for him to comfortably travel in. We just replaced the alternator, and had our list of recalls fixed. Including the rear shock absorbers that were clearly bad. Even at 84k they replaced them so that is good. They failed well before and the self leveling suspension wasn’t working because of it or some other issue. I would buy one again, that being said we haven’t had the oil issues you have. My biggest problem is the amount of time it takes to get into a dealership for service around here.
Thank you for your observations l had almost the very same occurrence with my Telluride oil consumption at a ridiculous rate the first week of ownership which l consider break in period .Before the month was out looking at 3quarts of oil disappeared in light around town driving. I was getting fed up 55000 dollars for a defective engine.Really kept the car for 2years nothing changed. Twice brought to dealership nothing done or found .problems continued. You are not alone Friend KIA you have serious work to do RD.CJJ
I'm thinking to buy one it's 2020 kia telluride and 61000 miles on it. I was thinking should I buy or not but after seeing your comments looks like I can. If your one 124000 miles no issues thn I think I can buy
Reliability and Kia are like oil and water. My wife bought a 2017 Optima in 2018 with 25k kms. It went in for knock sensor issues more than 4 times and Kia were awful to deal with. Would never buy another Kia. I think overall Kia are hit and miss as our next-door neighbour had the same car and had no issues.

Actually, nearly all modern engines will burn a little oil. It's just due to the thinner oils were using these days. But admittedly, half a quart is kind of pushing it.
They design these engines to save fuel and the environment with loose piston rings. That means they burn oil. I guess burned oil is good for the environment?
I never got a recall notice on my 2011 Toyota Sienna. 379k miles, the only problem is the antenna, the rubber part disintegrated, now I only get FM no AM radio.
My brother got 2022 kia soul new after his old soul was damaged from storm. He got oil chnage from dealership and several months later not even 1000 miles. He called me this engine was making noise. I heared over phone and i knew its sounded like no oil. I had him come to my house. I added 3 quarts of oil. Told him to contact dealership. They give him brand new engine. They had issues with oil consumption.
Sorry buddy that's the norm with newer cars. Google or research Subaru, Audi and VW oil consumption. You will be surprised and up to date. By the way those other brands are higher end and more expensive. 😂
Oil consumption. I have a 2023 Ford vehicle, oil level stays the same, almost from one oil change to another. When I noticed, it was a bit "scary", but I like.
I have a 2022 Telluride SX Nightfall edition. Best car I have owned. Problem free and most of the recalls don't apply to my VIN. The ones that did, were taken care of immediately (Allentown PA KIA). We have 3 yr old twins and with the captain chairs the family navigates it just fine. Now I have shopped other family 3 rows recently but wow for the value its hard to pass it up. With maybe the 2024 Chevy Traverse Z-71 being the only thing that comes close IMO however compared to the SX interior it looks cheap. With all that said I should say I come from the Jeep wrangler owner pool (6) so that could be why I like this SUV so much. After years riding around in Jeep wranglers the Telluride feels like a luxury car.
it probably won't fix the oil consumption issue, but adding a can of Seafoam every few tanks of gas makes a huge difference in gas mileage and since the GDI engines are prone to getting clogged up, it could help extend the life of the engine. i have a 2020 Telluride.
2023 SX Prestige X-Line owner. 24k miles. Zero oil consumption. Only issue is the rear differential coupler. Not a recall but a common issue I’d say. Noticed around 21k miles. Getting replaced by Kia as it’s under warranty. Over all its beens very reliable! Took it on plenty of road trips including to Florida from MA.
I own a 2020 Kia Telluride bought brand new off the lot. Warranty just ended & what do you know sunroof goes out. Also my driver window can randomly get stuck. Never had a single maintenance issue though 👍🏽
I can't give you 2 thumbs up for your review so one and a comment. Thanks for sharing your struggles, I really wanted a Telluride/Palisade but I'm starting to rethink my strategy.
Be thankful they are doing the recalls instead leaving you holding the bag. Instead of complaining, just trade it in for something else for heaven’s sake if you are unhappy.
It came down to a Telluride and a Forester for my last car purchase. I ended-up going with the Forester and I'm happy with the decision. I'd be very concerned with both the oil consumption and overheating of the Kia shown.
2022 SX-Prestige NFT bought new in July 2021 with 26 miles off the lot. It’s now 46,800 miles. Yes, a lot of recalls and I have had them all ‘fixed’. But I never experienced any of the issues from the recalls prior to having the recall service completed. Family of 5 and no issues.
For all the environmental rules regarding emissions, it's hard to believe that maximum oil consumption hasn't been regulated as part of emissions warranties. It puts both the metal compounds in the oil and those wearing from the engine into the air, as well as oil not burning as completely as the gasoline. 1 quart per 1000 miles is ridiculous.
Consuming 1/2 to 1 Qt of motor oil per 1k miles is normal operating condition. That's one way of not standing behind their product. Wonder how many qt of oil it will consume after 5 yrs, assuming it last that long.
The OP also owns a Cayenne Turbo...that things sips oil at a decent rate from usage experience. Wonder why he says 'an engine shouldn't be consuming oils at that rate', especially if it's a decent performing one.
For the oil consumption, try using Valvoline Restore and Protect. It's not a magic fix, but my guess is that engine uses low tension rings and one of them may be stuck. Restore and Protect is made precisely to clean ring lands and hopefully un-stick the ring and reduce oil consumption.
Add 1 qt Marvel Mystery Oil at next oil change.MMO will unstick any stuck ring . Use it in the gas too to lube and clean the fuel system. Been using it for 50 years never a problem with fuel system.
Owned a KIA Luv’d it for the same reasons & disliked it for same. Conclusion: SAME , I would even go as far as say do NOT buy if you can afford better.
Wow. Very sorry to hear about all of these issues. Car looks great and drives great. Problem is that the more tech (especially new tech) the more that can and often does malfunction.
well my 2021 EX had some similar recalls but that is actually a positive thing-kia trying to fix issues. otherwise, none of the other problems. never overheated, no belt noises, nothing. love the dependability actually! drove all over country already, no issues. the only problem i see-front airflow wasnt thought through, throws stones into windshield.
There’s a reason they still have to include the 100k mile powertrain warranty with Kias/Hyundais/Genesis, a lot of powertrain issues reported on multiple models.
I went with a 24 Corolla Cross SE AWD hybrid. I didn't even consider anything but Toyota and Mazda. Everything else is usually unreliable to very unreliable. Because of availability, I got sunroof, didn't want, use all the time, paddle shifters wanted, don't use...😅
I might be late but you should take it to another dealership if they're saying the oil consumption is within compliance. Just took the palisade in and told them about the oil consumption and they said it could need a new engine. Scheduled for an oil change to monitor with hyundai mechanics if the consumption is too much. 2020 palisade 50k+ miles.
It’s not a lemon. My friend praises his KIA and when I ask questions I don’t understand why he like his car so much. His Telluride has had the entire exhaust changed and the rolling issue, just 2yrs old. Another person has bad oil consumption, like no oil after a trip. 2 days ago there is a recall for 463k Tellurides for fire hazard again. So no it’s not a lemon, it’s a KIA problem.
It's a shame as I like the look of Kia's along with the drive. I had a 2016 Sorento and it was a constant drip of issues (tail lights burning out every 6 months, door handles breaking off, windshield fluid reservoir leaking, etc). For me the final straw was the oil leaking from the valve cover at 71k miles. I knew my engine was part of the big recall of engines and once I got it fixed, I sold that thing super fast. Never going back. Have a Honda now and it just drives every day without issue after 3 years/33k miles. Granted I know that's not a long term test but by that point on my Kia, I already got a warning from a cop for a burned out brake light, 2 door handles coming off and the bottom engine shield falling off while I was driving. I always took it to the dealer for the service and I was always on time for the intervals.
A new Kia Telluride cost more than my Porsche 911, which I purchased used. Also, my 911 has had zero depreciation, so it's actually a cheaper car to own than the Kia believe the or not.
I guess you’re living under a rock and have not test driven any Kia, therefore, your comment borders under the line of ignorance. Haven’t you even noticed how loud, unrefined and cheaply made Toyotas are built these days? Tundras blowing up engines, stop sales on Grand Highlanders and Lexus models, engine and drive shaft issues on new Tacomas. Honda has oil dilution issues on their turbo engines and electrical issues. The Kia Telluride drives like a luxury SUV costing twice as much, it feels German solid on the road and has an excellent quality interior. I’ve owned plenty of Hondas and Toyotas, KIA is on par on reliability and far better on interior quality and refinement.
@@fcg243 I've ridden in and driven a similar Hyundai Palisade for a full day, and it's a very pleasant car to drive. The friend who owns it is quite happy with it over about 60K miles.
I own a telluride 2021 but with regards to oil consumption i find it okay and many cars specially bmw have the same matter Every car has pros and cons in its category but i still believe the telluride is one of the best in its category considering the price and the features you are getting specially in safety
I've owned several bmws. Never had any oil burning issues. I own a 2020 430i gran coupe. Doesn't burn a drop of oil. 5000 mile oil changes. Car is flawless. However, however honda, Toyota and kia/ hyundai are experiencing oil consumption problems. I think its certain makes in certain brands.
Wow...oil consumption is normal? I bought my 2020 Camry new, and the engine hasn't consumed nor dripped one drop of ANYTHING! All those recalls in two years? Wow!
Good owners like you post these problems & quirks. A 2 year old Telluride should still be in great running shape. I sure will be questioning owning one. Luckily your wife got it home before the engine stopped or blow a head gasket.
One thing with the Kia. The fist time removing the dipstick to Check the oil it will read low. Exactly 1/2 quart wipe off dipstick check it again and voila! Its normal. At the oil change I measure the amount removed every time and I have zero loss of oil! Almost 80k miles.
Ive had 4 so far. 2018 V-6 Sorento we bought new ..they just lengthened the warranty to 15 years / 150 thousand miles..just hit 32 K miles.. not one issue.
The problem is the Georgia manufacturing plant mainly and mexico which alot of ppl dont realize. If you have a newer kia or Hyundai that was FULLY assembled in Korea, youll be fine. But not one that was partially assmebled overseas and the final assembly in the usa or mexico. Its pretty sad but that's how its been.
I brought my company van in for an oil change and chatted with a woman in the waiting room. She brought her Hyundai is because the oil warning light came on. I watched a Tech scan her car, add engine oil, and close the hood. I asked how often she checked her oil. She replied never, that she just brought it in for regular oil changes.
2021 Kia Sorento SX X-line Prestige blah blah blah (first year of this completely redesigned model): for the first 90 days (starting with day 2) the dealer had the vehicle more than I did working through multiple electrical issues. They fixed most of the problems except for the forward sensors, they still to this day sporadically malfunction (lots of ghosting which effects ACC and emergency braking). During these repairs the dashboard, rear bumper, headliner, and windshield were damaged and had to be replaced. We have the 4 pin trailer hitch with an unresolved recall and a permanent notice not to park the vehicle in or near structures as it could catch fire at anytime. 2 years ago the transmission died and left my wife stranded on the side of the road (technically we still have 2 calls into Kia Roadside Assistance, since no one ever came). On the plus side it looks nice, it has a bit of pep (0-60 ~6 seconds), and the interior and technology is better than my $100K truck.
Yes! Kia has a long way to go to improve the quality of their products. I had the same issue with my 2021 kia telluride. It's been consuming consuming the engine oil from the very beginning , I have to top up the engine oil every 2weeks.but dealership says, it's my fault. And the car is not restarting after auto engine shut off. I replaced battery and sensor, but dealership couldn't fix the problem. Only trying to charge me more and more money. Kia car lasts only for 3 years. I'm a korean ,I'm so sad to say and admit the shitty quality of korean products.
Interesting, I was behind one of these the other day on the highway. It looked brand new. White smoke was coming out of the tailpipe every time they accelerated. Burning oil?
We have 2 KIA Sorento’s with all sorts of similar issues; burns through oil like crazy, electrical issues, fire 🔥 recalls, the list goes on… we will never buy another KIA or Hyundai for matter, again 👎
There are recalls on $80,000 dollars cars also, I love my Kia SX and have had it since 2020 and I'm about to hit 80,000 miles. Bottom line you still get 10 years 100,000 miles. That is why you take it back and give them a beaten.
Your driver side wiper arm is up too far. Did you get a replacement windshield where they had to remove them? just popped the cap off the arm. I believe it’s a 13 mm socket loosen it and just adjust it back so it’s not sticking up so high.
I work at a honda dealership, and every time someone comes in to trade in their KIA or Hyundai, they are so far underwater its not even funny. These cars don't hold their value very well a lesson I see a lot of people learn coming to trade back in their cars for something else either to lower their payments or such. I'm not saying hondas are the greatest car ever or most reliable ever. They are just machines at the end of the day, and to fanboy over a brand is weird 👀. I've had a Hyundai, which blew 2 motors just after the warranty. My wife had a kia optima that was burning oil at 56k Miles. like having a quart of oil on hand under 100k miles is crazy. Also, 460k recalls twice in 1 year is also crazy.
The fact that a brand new car is consuming oil is absolutely ridiculous! I didn’t know that was a thing or even acceptable by Kia!

We found a set of factory takeoff Pirelli Scorpion Zeros for $600 so went with those. They work fine for us. @kimtremel2959
Man… my Honda pilot had several recalls too. However, good to see what kind of issues people have.
Minor issues on that Honda

They are just junk brands for the gullible.

@diegoelet thank you for the information. I get oil changes, and all every few months. Next is my 15k mile service, so I don't believe that's the issue on my vehicle.

I have a 2010 Kia Borrego with over 300K on it, still going strong, and mine doesn't burn a drop of oil, the oil level never changes.
These cars are not built to last. Like BMWs they are nice when they are new but they do not last as good as the Japanese brands.
Then explain to me why Hyundai rates higher than Honda on JD Power dependability ratings.

I work next to a kia dealership, and they have a mountain on replacement engines behind the dealership. plus they dont hold their value well at all
@EchoAccord 😁 I do.
How on Earth do you own a Porsche and decide to buy an effing Kia? You picked that over a Honda or Toyota?
A new Kia Telluride cost more than my Porsche 911, which I purchased used. Also, my 911 has had zero depreciation, so it's actually a cheaper car to own than the Kia believe the or not.
How does owning a Porsche and buying a Kia call for your effing irrelevant question??
Honda and Toyota, you're more likely to get junk. Stay away from them.
I own a telluride 2021 but with regards to oil consumption i find it okay and many cars specially bmw have the same matter
Every car has pros and cons in its category but i still believe the telluride is one of the best in its category considering the price and the features you are getting specially in safety
I also bought a 2024 Mazda CX 50 and they had a problem with the brake shims in the front making it clicking noise so all cars can have problems
I got my telluride in 2019 and to this date it is solid and 0 issues. So reliable and durable
Wait til the carbon build up in your engine. It's a GDI engine. Carbon build up is gonna happen and not cheap to clean out.
Lmao not for the majority of
@@josephamen4244 he probably doesn’t even have a car. Dude owns a bus pass 😂
@@josephamen4244 Same here, 2020 telluride. No issues.
Just traded in my 22 Telluride and after 40000 miles all I had was the parking brake and the slide button on the power seat.
Sorry if I missed it, How many miles it at now?
44k
Engines shouldn't consume oil unless there is some problem. My sailboat has a 24 year old Yanmar diesel with 7500 hours. Doesn't use any oil.
You drive the Kia while you figure out the overheating issues. Let wifey drive the Porsche to be on the safe side.
Not oil! White smoke is coolant. Probably a bad head gasket. $$$$$
@@christopherlaflam6383 ah, yes you are correct!
Then again I drive a 19 Kia Niro , it's had one sensor replaced i 5 years . It's a great car .
I completely agree. People buy these cars because of the warrenty. The warrenty is subpare and difficult to keep it viable.
Your driver side wiper arm is up too far. Did you get a replacement windshield where they had to remove them? just popped the cap off the arm. I believe it’s a 13 mm socket loosen it and just adjust it back so it’s not sticking up so high.
This is for everyone, Do you search before buying any car. This Korean car companies use the "wao" effect to attract costumers.
He buys based on looks. Admittedly this POS looks good and he should have known better. Now he is upset lol
Thanks man this vídeo save me lots of money if u can change it for a different suv which one will u go
Probably a Lexus or Toyota.
@@CarFanaticlol, aren’t aware of massive recalls on them?
To base your purchasing off one RUclips review is not wise. 😂
A lot of Kia's have engine oil problems. That's been the story of my KIA Optima. Also, it burns coolant a lot.
powertrain is not reliable. It isn't terrible, but I wouldn't want to keep for a long time. Trade it after 7 or 8 years, unless it blows up on you.
The overheating issue should store a code for them to pull it if an engine light came on
