My wife and I have owned 12 Hyundai vehicles. We bought our 1st Hyundai in 2004, and have NEVER had ANY issues with any of the 12 we have owned. I remember in 2008 my wife was hell bent on having a PT Cruiser. Chrysler is a very well known brand, and has been making vehicles for decades, right? It was declared a lemon in less than 3000 miles!!! Right back to Hyundai she went running!! We have only bought Hyundai products since then! We have owned everything from an Accent to a Palisade, they have all been EXCELLENT vehicles! As for me and my house, we will always buy Hyundai! You guys keep doing exactly what you’re doing, as it truly helps to know before ya go to buy!!!
Likewise... But I just mush Genesis, Hyundai, & Kia all together. Lol. Between my wife and I, we've had a 2014 Sorento, 2019 Sorento, 2020 Sedona, and a 2022 Tucson. Literally not even one issue with any of them. I'm sold.
Well, the Veloster she traded in for her Santa Cruz had 106,000 miles on it and ran like new when it was traded. Oh, and the Santa Fe I had was traded in with over 80,000 miles on it. So yes I know EXACTLY how well they last. In fact my daughter is still driving the Tucson we gave her and it has almost 300,000 miles on it, and not one single major repair! Tires, oil changes, and I’ve replaced the battery once, and the brakes twice. I must say that’s pretty damn good!!
It sounds like you’ve traded them in every two years on average. Not many cars would have a problem in that time. I’d like to hear from folks who’ve owned these for 10 plus years.
@@kellybailey9063 how is that? Had the Veloster for over 5 years, Santa Fe for almost 4 years. You must be assuming that we only owned them one or two at a time, in which you’d be wrong. Have owned up to 4 of them at one time! Have never traded in a single one without driving it for at least 4 years. Trading in your car, for most people, isn’t about the car having issues. Trades are made for UPGRADE reasons! It’s literally that simple. I’ve had my current Palisade for 2 years now, and won’t be trading until 2026, after the new body redesign.
I have the Jeep Grand Cherokee L but i will say the Palisade is really nice in all black and i seen one moving through the mountains one time and gotta say the handling was very surprising
I have a 2021 Palisade Limited and I can say that this SUV does not disappoint. We do love the extra storage underneath the console as well as the large cup holder storage that can snugly fit precisely a Starbucks 4 drink holder. The only thing I think it needs is the folding mirror functions. I don't know why only the Middle East models have this feature and the US versions do not. Thinking of trading in to a newer Palisade Limited once they have the folding mirror function available.
The Palisade Calligraphy looks sooo good without the bling grille! It looks very properly upmarket. The Telluride refresh still hasn't won me over, but it is still a good looking CUV. I have to commend H/K for not following the trend of raising prices...just to raise prices. That is despite these two being some of the most sought-after vehicles on sale of the last 2-3years.
I've been bouncing around reviews for these 2 vehicles to get a general idea of which to buy. Your review is the only one that measured interior sound levels at road speeds TYVM.
This winter we traded a 2016 Acura RDX on a 24 Kia SX Prestige. Mostly So impressed ! Couple of negatives. 1 - you can’t lock the vehicle from the inside lock button as you leave. You must use the outside lock or remote. This should be an option in settings . You can’t use the Kia app with an out of country phone. We are in Florida for near 6 months. They need to fix these issues. Engine noise on acceleration is a bit rough. Otherwise awesome. The Gas app you recommended doesn’t work with an out of country phone. I just checked.. these are just app writing issues.
The lock is a safety feature to make sure you don't lock your keys in the car. If you were to lock the inside with the keys away from the vehicle, then it would lock. 🤷🏽♂️
As someone’s who’s had both, Telluride is the clear winner imo. Better sound system processing, with real surround sound, better handling than the Palisade, better build quality, more planted feel on road, quieter cabin, more premium looking cabin/ better material choices, power folding mirrors, THIRD ROW LIGHTS l, and overall less obnoxious or overly sensitive safety systems. Hyundai does have power folding seats, massage drivers seat, fully one touch window/ sunroof controls, traffic jam assist cruise control that starts again on its own without you having to hit the gas, and better interior storage. Overall , though, Palisade feels cheaper inside and has a more dated cabin design unless you choose the lighter shade leather. Both models were top trims and on day to day life with them plus styling, the Telluride is superior
You do need the mirrors not to fold to prevent dents from cars parking next to you. My advice is never fold mirrors they are your safety barrier. Now regarding the convenience features, non has electric telescoping steering wheel either with memory function also the climate does not adjust according to the outside temps once you are in the car and start it. How do i know? Just bought a 24 calligraphy 2 weeks ago and test drove the Telluride as well.
@@al151 your advice about folding mirror is crap. always fold them especially in a parking lot where other mirrors and doors can hit it. electric tele steer wheel? thats a joke right? 99% vehicles don't adjust inside temp compared to outside temp
I think the Telluride speaks more to me because of it's iconic look. I had an old Cherokee for a while, a Liberty, a 2009 Rav4: I like cars that have a look that lasts. The Palisade has a few more features I like, but the Telluride has an actual shifter which is nice for sport mode, more space in the back, and just looks like something really premium.
The key feature for me to get a Palisade is having transmission shifters on the steering wheel for driving in the mountains vs. the floor shifter on the Telluride.
“Not quite as premium” for the palisade seating material is very subjective (opinion not a fact). I would let people decide for themself…my wife preferred the feel and look of the micro suede over leather in the standard calligraphy so I went with the night edition. After having leather in so many cars being different was a selling point. Overall both are great cars, great review as well!
So people shouldn’t buy an extremely reliable HYUNDAI, because what? Oh because they don’t get EVERY SINGLE ONE “PERFECT”? Hello!! NONE OF THEM DO!!! That’s why we have laws to protect us, the consumer! You want an honest opinion about a Hyundai, anything? Ask somebody who’s owned 12 of them! I have never had ANY issues with ANY of them! No engine issues, no transmission problems, nothing! I have owned everything from a Hyundai Accent to a Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy, all great vehicles! 10 out of 10, highly recommend! Don’t even get me started on a warranty that NO OTHER manufacturer can come close to offering!
We traded out 2021 Calligraphy for the 2024 Calligraphy Night edition. Im already not a fan of the microfiber seats. It seems like a step down from the Napa Leather. Other than that, the newer electronic rearview mirror, better camera use and able to run with a 7 pin trailer was a plus
I think you should have compared the 2024 Telluride X-Line and not the X-Pro vs. the Calligraphy edition of the Palisade. The X-Line is the more prestigious package, including larger & classier rims. I have own both models. The 2024 Telluride also blacked out all the grey bumper pieces and would have better complimented the Palisade Night Edition.
I was pretty much decided on getting the Palisade since for more power stuff (3rd row, ergo seat, and remote parking) for less money and better mark up situation (more dealers willing to go MSRP on those), until Sept last year the KIA dealer was $4k under MSRP for the Telluride SX-P X-PRO so i have no choice but bought the Telluride. Either one is fine with me it's just coming down to the price
I was going for the Palisade till I saw it didn't have folding mirrors. My Garages are single door and I need to fold the mirrors to get it in. Shame as I preferred the Palisade.
I agree. I have folding mirrors and heated back seats on my Honda Passport Touring, which I love. I also have drivers seat memory which is something hard to find unless you get the very top of the line vehicles now and I have touch free tailgate opener too! Where are the perks for lower levels? My Passport isn’t the top of the line and I have all that!
I wish my family could afford and were in the market to get a bigger vehicle. I love the new tellurides for the features, leg room in the 3rd row (tall kids over here) and overall performance and feel. For now, ill admire from afar and window shop 😂
Both of you left out a couple of reasons why Hyundai takes the win, for the fact that it gives us the smart parking feature, which Kia does not provide that. Now for the 3rd row seat, between both SUV, the more practical advantage would be the fact that Hyundai provides that auto folding and unfolding feature so you don't have to struggle to reach the straps to pull the seats back up. Additionally the 3rd row seat allows you to recline the seats back a bit more for a more comfortable ride, another feature that Kia lacks. The front driver seat also includes side adjusting sections on the power seat buttons, its that dial for the lumbar adjustment. this does in-fact, make a huge difference in comfort. Those were 4 more points I noticed that were a huge win for Hyundai to break away from Kia's Telluride and dust it. p.s. The Calligraphy 2WD has sport mode for a much faster throttle response rather than keeping it in "Comfort" mode (slower throttle response). Also, there are two top trims for Hyundai, the Calligraphy and Calligraphy night edition. The big difference is the interior seating which you mentioned to be "lower quality" for the seats being suede in the night edition, while the Calligraphy can also have the option for Nappa Leather. So therefore a point would be added to Hyundai and not just Kia.

Both of them are really nice. There are some things I do not like about each. I think both of their exteriors are a bit too much, at least for me. Same with their interiors. I personally prefer simpler designs. However, I really like the All-new Acadia and Traverse, which the Palisade and Telluride should be worried about.
Okay here's the thing though both of them do look good in every Dimension the Palisade looks bigger than to tell you right even though they're the same but I would probably pick the Mazda cx90 just because it has the most luxurious interior not saying that to tell you right in the Palisade is bad but it's just the monster has more luxury oriented stuff

Its good looking car but it's GDI engine consumes lot of engine oil, you have to top up the oil every 2-3weeks. Both of them are a bit overrated. The Styling has not aged well in my opinion. The new Chevrolet Traverse and GMC Acadia twins have effortlessly outclassed the _budget Cadillac_ esque South Korean twins.
I still can't understand why people keep throwing their hard earned money into a car brand they don't really know. Those 2 brands are known to become useful after certain mileage compared to others that have proven their reliability overtime ! Personally, I will never buy any of these and I will always stick with my honda pilot even though they are not offering hybrid option at this time
That because life is too short to keep wasting money on outdated Japanese cars for the same money, a lot people don’t keep car that long anymore, people want new tech . Enjoy your 20 years on Toyota

Both of them are a bit overrated. The Styling has not aged well in my opinion. The new Chevrolet Traverse and GMC Acadia twins have effortlessly outclassed the _budget Cadillac_ esque South Korean twins.
I'm not digging the night edition palisade. It just looks ugly if the grill is fully black out.
Hyundai is better.
Telluride is not nicely shaped at all. Pallisade for me
Telluride is bigger and it’s better
Are you guys mechanic
Other than that pesky blown engine issues it’s a great car! 🤦🏻♂️
I still can't understand why people keep throwing their hard earned money into a car brand they don't really know. Those 2 brands are known to become useful after certain mileage compared to others that have proven their reliability overtime ! Personally, I will never buy any of these and I will always stick with my honda pilot even though they are not offering hybrid option at this time
change isn’t for everyone.
It’s your personal choice!…better keep that choice inside your own house it doesn’t make sense to everybody!….
Thats on you....Worry about your own money...🙄
Honda was never reliable. Both Hyundai and KIA last longer than Hondas overall.
That because life is too short to keep wasting money on outdated Japanese cars for the same money, a lot people don’t keep car that long anymore, people want new tech . Enjoy your 20 years on Toyota
Boy you best not play with me and try get me no Kia or Hyundai!!!! I know what these yams are worth and I deserve a Bimmer or a Benz at the very least!!!! These cakes deserve the best!!!!!
