  • More progress is finally made on the Jeep LJ build! What started out as a simple stub shaft replacement, has snowballed into a full blown overhaul - engine swap, frame stretch, suspension and axle upgrade, the works! The LJ build is finally to a point where it's time to truss the axles and get started on welding up the new Rock Krawler Rockzilla long arm system!

It’s because of this channel, specifically build videos, that my tool box went from a plastic crate to an actual box. My garage has been home to many more activities. My garage isn’t no where near as cool as this but I’m working towards it. Thanks for the inspiration. Love the channel, love the content.

Theres been a hundred times when I try and power through a job to get it done, knowing it's not going very good. And then the next day having to fix what I did. I know that feeling. As I get older, I am trying to learn how to walk away for a bit and let myself figure it out/clear my head. Sometimes even calling it a day early so that I wake up fresh is the million dollar answer.

The Lite Brite Channel is the Second best Channel on RUclips for me Behind DeermeatforDinner. I started watching your channel because I am a Jeeper and I loved the exciting things you guys did off roading in your Jeep. Now I love watching Chris and Bec build things as much as the Jeep upgrades that you guys did on all your Jeeps. I DO hate all Bronco Content, but I know you have other fans, other than me, that drive those FAKE JEEP WANNA BE OFF-ROAD TOYS that would like to see & learn about their unreliable car. Being eager to get through a project can cause problems. You did it right by going through your checklist, identifying the problem, correcting it and now your welds look great. It's the attention to detail in the shop by you and Chris that fascinates me. You don't cut corners, want things to function correctly AND look good. When I do a project, I map out everything step by step so I don't forget anything and it makes it easy to remember where I left off so next time I can pick up and work towards finishing without trying to remember where I was a few weeks or months ago. I always love Litebrite videos, and love all of you bringing us this awesome content. 💖

The only thing loss was time. A smile, a shake of your head as you realize what you did and you figured it out. Pride in doing so and you move on. The bonus is… more welding! Thanks for another great fabrication/welding video. I'm glad you showed why it's important to at least tack the truss down to the axle before closing up the seams on the truss itself. It may seem easier to finish welding all of the truss off of the axle but you're asking for trouble when it comes time to weld it to the axle. Thanks again!

I’m sure someone else already beat me to it but here is a tip for welding powder coated or painted parts. Make sure to remove not only the coating you can see, but also the coating on the back side. If any coating was left between the belly pan and frame it will liquify or off-gas and contaminate the weld from behind. Nice job on the fix and I appreciate the transparency. Keep up the good work!

When what you are welding is spitting at you, (your helmet shield, clothes, etc.), that is the worst. Glad you did not give up, made the weld right… (Extra effort and time). That is good work ethic you are displaying. Thank you for the video. Last arc-welding I did, was on a square hitch receiver over my head… Keep a garden hose with water handy. Getting hit with spatter can be a pain and cause a fire. (Running a lot of welding rod amperage).

however 90% of us will still make those mistakes only a rare 10% will learn from other peoples mistakes but a good job. So keep up the good work love watching the videos, love watching Chris and you in your meticulous efforts to make this clean off Roading rig/ beast.

Tip you can use a wedge or a cold chisel at end a L shaped Piece of metal, then as you weld along the brace you drive the wedge at every weld and that close the gape. If it is small gap put a tack on piece and hit it with a hammer before it cools it must be orange or better still yellow. I know this is for old heads but if you master it this is quicker. I hope this helps.

Welds look great even the repaired ones your doing a perfect job! What I found with a lot of my mig jobs was I would run the voltage a little higher and I would trigger or pulse the button. I would weld for a quick three seconds or less and I would make a circle then pulse the button and and make another circle over and over. It would give really nice beads that looked like a tig welded job. ⚡️

make Sure the o-rings are good on the whip and use spit or oil to lubricate them before reinserting.
make sure your polarity is correct
too high of gas flow can introduce oxygen into the weld and cause porosity
aiming that nozzle in the direction that you're going will also help blanket the weld with proper shielding gas
