VAN TOUR | WOMAN BUILDS VAN LIFE HOME - DIY SELF CONVERTED SPRINTER VAN

This is Wild - Van Life Canada - 2020 van build
🎵 Xori - Rainy Season
Hey guys! Hope you loved this van tour of Logan's home!! let us know in the comments what else you'd like to see on our channel.
This is Wild how long is this van? In feet
Hey Zayvier, 22ft from head to toe, and 14ft of living space. 2006 158” T1N Sprinter
U
@john whitesnake nah ladies farts smell like perfume.....
@john whitesnake really!! What are you, 10 years old🙄
i have been binging on van tours on you tube for well over a year. Your design and organization is my favorite by far. Brilliant. You've done a terrific job planning and constructing and decorating your lovely home on wheels
My goodness Sally, that is so kind and appreciated! Seriously!!! So glad you found it useful. :D
Hi Logan, I forgot to mention the pillow cover for sweaters, I have extra blankets and extra sheets and towels in all of my extra throw pillows as well as the ones for the back of my couch which is a fold out bed. When I changed out the cushions for the couch I change the width of the bed so I didn't have to let out the couch to have my bed. The table also let down for a bed as well. Over the cab is another bed that pulls down. So it would sleep 6. We put new carpet, new cushions, recovered the tabletop and counter top. We love the old girl as she is the 73 model Winnebago. She is a beast! Those were the days when they built things to last! It does look like she needs to be painted with peace signs and daisies! Again safe travels to you and yours!
I know you were concerned about your budget but the hacks you came up with were outstanding. Loved the fan hack and I am glad you were about to share that. .All of the textiles were great. pillows, tiles , black out curtain, bed spread. the stickers on the cupboard doors added a bit of a 'pop' to the interior.. You should do a video on the toilet. I especially liked your dish drainer, crazy. Enjoy your travels and stay safe.
Very nice design and layout. As a DIY-er myself I can appreciate all the work and love you put into your home
Glad you liked it! Yeah, they're a labor of love arent they? Thanks for the support!
Very nice van build. I love the area for storage at the foot of your bed. And you could actually add a little curtain to it as well. You did an awesome job!
Thanks for the kind comment! The van has since been totally finished and lived in for YEARS now, maybe time to do an updated tour!
of all the van conversion videos i've watched, your layout is one of my favorites. lots of storage and use of space. i love the comfy bed, nice big sink and pillow/sweater storage. so clever. but do agree with the other person who said that fire extinguisher needs to be out of the box and in a handy spot.
Thanks a bunch for the comment~ Glad you liked it! And yes, we have already dealt with the fire and CO sensor issues :) all safe
Wow!! I absolutely love some of the wonderful ideas you've incorporated into the van. I"m in awe of the pillow covers containing the sweaters. Does the dog accompany you? Dogs are a wonderful addition to van life but probably best to not have a full-fledged puppy. I have one now & he's completely nuts. But a well-behaved older dog would be awesome. Well done!!
It's a beautiful van! Very well laid out and functional.
Thank you very much :)
I've watched countless van life videos and this is the first one I've ever seen of a dodge sprinter. Didnt even know these existed til this vid lol
I have loved the camper van life for many years and I plan to do it a lot from here on. I have two but one has always been in storage. What I would do to meet a partner like you to travel with. Following van life (Utube) on their travels to S. America. I love your build. Keep a 20 below sleeping bag to sleep with on very cold nights. Two down comforters can be folded into four layers. The comment on the curtains potentially catching fire is real. I had a curtain catch fire and thought I had it put out. I went for a walk and came back to smoldering. Luck it never flamed or the van would be history. An inverter generator is sure nice to have. I'm planning to trade my property with others for parking in New Mexico. Your welcome to park on my property anytime free if you get to the states. It's a resort area with a lot of history. Ruidoso NM.
Hey Fred, thanks for the comment! Awesome to hear youre in the lifestyle as well! Scary story with the curtains!! ....we are always super careful with them..as im sure you know, you just gotta make things work out in such a tiny space!! If we are ever in the NM area, we would love to reach out! THanks again :)
Very pretty and practical van build. I like that you put your heritage and style into your van. I cant wait to see more of your vidoes so I subscribed.. Be safe and great travels.
Thanks for subscribing Toni!!! We are so happy to have you here :)
Lovely built van. Greetings from sunny Jamaica.
thanks Lawrence
Nice build ,great commentary , good photography , thank you
Thank you too!
Awesome 2006 van build.
So much storage!! ❤❤❤❤
I think real baskets would look great under your bed area with your decor. Very nice build!💕🤗
I enjoyed the tour thanks! We did an old sprinter up & it was a lot of work but totally worth it!! We drive from here in malta to the UK & back again in the summers. Security is my top priority so keeping myself safe is super important to me. LOVE u'r pop of colour on u'r bed..Ruby red is my signature colour & so our van is really cosy too! Can I ask where u got u'r bed cover from??
So cool! thank you for the kind comment. that sounds like a lovely adventure. The tapestry on my bed is from the thrift store- so its a one of a kind!
@@Snowstead miss all my lovely UK charity shops sooo much!! Why buy something (& I mean clothes too!) For £50 when u can get it for £3.50..all in tip top condition as new..its a no brainer!!
That diesel heater produces a completely dry heat. It will bring down the humidity by a LOT after running it all night. That heater is anti-mold.
Totally agree with you. The thing is a beast!
Love the cushion cover/sweater idea. Awesome use of space which I haven't seen before haha...love it :-). Beautiful van indeed.
Thanks for sharing a tour of your van with us. I got a couple of good ideas from you.
Please be careful with those cute curtains being so close to your stovetop flame....those would go up in a nanosecond. Please be careful....❤
Yes, we are always super careful with them....gotta work around what you have in such a tiny space with windows! Thank you for caring, we appreciate it.
@@Snowstead Maybe you could get a couple of small tension rods, hot glue the bottom of the fabric to create an insert and have the curtains closer to the windows (away from the stove) but you can easily slide them open and closed.
@@Snowstead what you can possibly do is get plywood and a flame retardant covering and stand it up, Like a litte wall while you cook where you can ensure the curtains do not interfere? I don't know I am just so excited about my transformation
Brilliant build I'm even more inspired now I've been wanting to do a van conversation for a few years now. I adore your cooker something I'd definitely need and a good heater. I'd like a small shower area in somehow to. But also a permanent bed is a must. Also as a female need front access to the driving seat just for my own safety point x
Thanks!... glad it inspired you :) All your future build ideas sound great! Wishing you the best of luck
I don't know how canadians stand the cold but I do love this van . Sprinter vans hold alot! Do u live alone and what do you do for work, like do you go to work each day?
Hahah Canadian winters can be pretty harsh! But, we do have a great heater to keep us warm! I (Logan) live in the van full-time and David lives in the van with me part-time! For work, David and I have a small business helping others to plan their van conversions so we work from the van on our own!
SUPER van build. I took notes. 😀
Awesome! Thank you!
Maybe you are already doing this: make and sell curtains online (similar to what you have here). You obviously have a lot of talent sewing. Also, you could make and sell pillows that store sweaters, etc., like the one you have. July 2020
Hi there, thanks for the comment. No , I dont sell curtians or pillow covers online right now. Truly, this was my first time ever doing a big sewing project - ive hemmed or mended clothing here and there- but this was my first real project! We appreciate the idea and comment. All the best xx
I have a 2009 Sprinter 3500 but I've yet to build it out. You gave me a lot of good ideas. Do you have videos of your build?
Awesome, glad to help a bit! No, unfortunately I didn't get much filming done whilst building out the van but I'm sure you'll see a few transformation pics/clips throughout our upcoming videos :)
Great job ,i love your van i copied the idea of gour cushions to store the sweaters ..lol 👍😀Safe trips Logan
Amazing! Glad you liked the tip, thanks for your support!
very interesting features very safely done all electrical are so important to any single lady van dwellers it's just excellent safety measures and very cozy stock filled storage neatly made not showing much to just anyone who comes up ... may yu have more colorful modes around to give life some greenery herbs for instance.. greens are good for oxygen .... may yu have more wonderful travels throughout... enjoy life no matter it'll take yu on each journey .. bless yu more ..... thank yu for sharing.... I've enjoyed every minute watching.. made me inspired to have a van life too..... from Asia Tokyo
Thanks for the comment- all the best on your journey!
Totally love it ....Just one question about shower, how you take it?
I love your set up....
Best,best,best.
Bravo, bravo ,
Fantastisk.
Helsa från Sweden.
Bravo! keep safe
Such a wonderful & thoughtful build. We love it!! 🚐🛠💛 xx Tania
Thanks Tania, it’s really appreciated :) safe travels
They make thermal curtains. Lookin at the back doors and how they "seel" up top, maybe it's something to look into.
I Really like this Build. She's very knowledgeable and knows how to Explain. Someway In all These Vans I'd Have To Have A Small Bathroom. But such a nice build. The Space under the bed can be a Second Bed, If Needed. Also, I Always Suggest Getting A Alcohol Heater/Stove. They use to use to Power Boats. There is a Lady In A Van (CheapRVLiving) Who Uses An Alcohol Stove To Cook And Heat Her High Top Van. I Always Suggest Alcohol Stove as An Alternative Heat And Cook Emergency. I would have Liked You To Explain Your Heat Warmth. All I Could Think of Was That Snow and Ice. Alcohol is More Expensive but Safer. It Does Not Explode. Wow. What A Van.
Thanks so much for the comment! Yes, Ive heard really great things about alcohol stoves! There will be a heater video coming out shortly to go more in depth- stay tuned! Appreciate your feedback
Love your van! Thanks for your very professional van tour! I wish I had gotten a high top, even though I love my van, I need to stand straight up sometimes. Lol Great video! 👍
Ahah thanks for the comment! We totally get what you’re saying for needing to stand up. Growing up, my dad (Logan) always had a short top Van and I knew when getting my van I need to stand lol!!!
Really awesome video so much valuable information and I love the way you're very organized and you know what you want thank you and God bless
Thanks for your kind comment :)
Great build-out and fantastic presentation. Hope to see you on the road sometime!
Thank you - we hope so as well :)
Everythings about van life is interesting to me, except the toilet and shower part. I pee and poo a lot, because i drink a lot. Well i live in tropical country, maybe would be different if i live in cold area
Hahah!! It’s like if you were out in public and you had to go to the washroom....You just manage to figure it out! Plus there is a compost toilet in the van. As for showers, family and friends, public recreation centres or gym memberships :)
I totally understand you because i fealt the same untill i saw soooo many vanlife videos on different ways to do an inside shower. Plus the option of going in a gyms, there should be no problems there. Plus, your in the tropics. You can have an outdoor shower witch is even more easy to manage. As for the toilet, i saw a video of a familly of 5 or 6 living in a bus. They had a composting toilet or nature's head. With 6 people using it he said he had to dump the solids like 2 times a month. So imagine if your alone...
Very nice ! God bless you!
So lovely..and the van
Great van but could you please store the fire extinguisher away from the gas tank if you have a fire you don't want to have to reach into the flames.
Hey, thanks for the comment. this video is from a long while back and the fire extinguisher has long since been moved to a better spot- thanks :)
Omg i want this van
You showed us your expandable dish rack, but I would really love ya know what brand it is and where you bought it. Also the price, if you don’t mind...Thank you!!
Hey! My dish rack was bought at winners/Marshall’s! It’s not too dependable to find the same thing twice at Marshall’s but I’ve got a link to one that is incredibly similar! *Collapsable Dishrack amzn.to/2InSVWE
This is Wild Great! You’re so awesome for searching for a similar one for me. I appreciate it... Thank you!!
Love your van, just makes sense. Love your Weimer!
Thank you Jeannine, we appreciate it
Thank you. From Lisbon in Portugal with love
Thank YOU Helena
Awesome van and great vid! Look forward to seeing more from you guys
Is your heater electric or propane or diesel? There are diesel units that vent exhaust outside and intake outside air to fire and not use internal warm air. Draw on battery is low as well and can use the same diesel as in your tank!
It is a diesel heater for the exact reasons you listed below. Espar D2L :)
Hey! I wanna know, if you have the link o name of the bottons that do u use for your curtains on ur living room?
Wow. Its fab love it. X
Pretty,nice and clean😍❣️
Great van build, very well thought out!
Thank you Paul
Awesome and beautiful, WTG 🫂🙏✌️
A credit to you beautiful design
Thanks John!
Waoo... beautiful car..
Congrats for your project, super awesome ! This was super inspiring for me, I want to make something similar to roadtrip in Europe. PS: I knew you were Portuguese (or with PT roots) the moment i saw you :P the plate just confirmed it. Keep it up ;)
Hey thanks for the comment! Good luck on your journey!! Funny you knew my PT background- good eye! All the best. -Logan
Everything has a purpose ❤️
great place for light switch :)
Awesome I'm looking for Van or small motor home. You have some wonderful ideas thanks for sharing!
Thanks Joanne...best of luck to you!
Great job young lady.
Thanks Wade!
*I like your van, I subbed you*
Beyond charming....and so functional. 😊
Thanks Leila, (love your name!)! It’s really appreciated :)
Beautiful van god bless you safe travels thank you for sharing🙏💗
Our pleasure!
I love and enjoyed watching your build! So many things were creative and artistic. Portugal has beautiful tile, I have our family name spelled out in letter tiles I got from Lisbon in my kitchen. #BeSafe
Thank you!! They have lovely tile! My family also has our last name in tile :) you be safe as well
@@Snowstead Do you bake often, I love that you have an oven in your van, the smell of fresh-baked cookies in the house is so amazing!
you bet! We love having an oven in the van! When I was building it out it was a must have :)
@@Snowstead Awesome!
I really liked your build. great job
Thanks Trae!
I am very surprised to see so much kitchen stuff. I wonder where she got her dishrack.
Yes...the kitchen was a big priority to me! Needed lots of space so, built most of the van around making that possible! Dishrack is from Winners/Marshalls!
@@Snowstead Thanks. It's really cool.
I love you set up, you could get a hand crank vintage sewing machine?
Thanks Wendy!! I'm sure I could get one...but as of now i'd have very little use for it!!
Good home-comfortable.
Why would you put a propane tank, fire extinguisher, and paper towels in the same cabinet 🤔?
already dealt with! Lots of comments on this one :) Tiny space storage doesnt always make sense :P
Very nice ,
Thank you! Cheers!
Does the Instant pot works? How much Elektrizität it needs? Thats a great idea ♡
Yup! Love the instant pot. It takes a significant draw of power when its first firing up but after that, it stays fairly low for power draw. Although, we do avoid using it in winter because of its power consumption :)
Great build but I don’t like the curtains by the stove.
Fair enough! It works for us :)
I like your layout. Did you say you work from your van? Why did you choose this model (style) van?
Thank you! Yes, it was important to have a place to do work in the van. We will have to do a video on the layout and why it was chosen but the main reasons would be that the bed is always up (no folding benches or anything) and the kitchen space is a priority.
I’m considering living like this , but I’m really scared that the gas would cost to much. To any one who lives in a van i’d be really grateful if you could share how much you paid. Thank you a million 🥰😁
Ps: love the vans layout. :D
Hi there! Gas prices scared me at first as well! However, I spend around $150 a month on fuel. I specifically got a diesel to help with fuel milage. There is a video on our channel breaking down the cost of building out the entire van :)
Oh that’s not as bad as I thought, and I’ll definitely check out the other video! Thank you for letting me know 😁
Good hack!
Thanks Michelle
Amazing young lady ,so neat amazing attention to the minute details
Thank you Sam, i appreciate it.
I could not hear what type of heater that was. Could you type the name of it please?
It is a Espar D2L diesel heater. We have a coupon code and an indepth blog post on it- linked here : www.thisiswild.ca/new-blog/espar-heating-solution-my-saviour
hi, i love your van, can you please tell me the brand of your mattress? and how much did you paid for?
thank you!,
Sonia from Argentina.
hi there, we have a Tempurpedic mattress. I paid $1500 for it and got it over 70% off. It is totally a lifes investment haha!! - I dont know if they would have them in Argentina but good to check :)
i dunno man
i got 50k cash
my friends say dude
u can by a nice class A diesel pusher for 40k bro with all that stuff in there already with more room
but my other friends say bro...
just buy a spinter van and build it out the way you want it
20k for the van
and 10k to have some one build it out 4 u
with 20k left over
i dont know what to to
I love the sweater pillows hack1. NICE ONE! enjoy.
Finally, a vanlifer who talks about taking care of the vehicle's engine before anything else.
ahaha thanks Jacqueline. Its super important....without it we cant go anywhere :)
Exactly 💯
Very true, I think lots don't know how to, that's the most important part of the van , wiithout maintaining the engine , the van will be useless lol most iMP part!!
This is common sense
safety warning - mount the fire extinguisher within reach of the drivers area and have another mount close to your bed. A smoke detector may not be a bad idea either.
Great idea- mounting the fire extinguisher in 2 places!! Thank you for that :) smoke detector is in the mail as we speak!
@@Snowstead also I would think the carbon monoxide detector should be on the outside of the cabinet, not inside of it.
Smoke detectors with CO detectors are also available.
And take it out of the cardboard box first!!
RULE: a fire extinguisher by every door!
Totally love your van.... My husband and I are considering getting a camper and making a move... Life is to short to not live your dreams... My dream is to travel with my husband and two dogs😍😊
Awesome dream! We say try it!! Thanks Jolan
Do it !!!
My dream too, just no husband.
Can't wait
Mine too except we uave our youngest for few more years until she graduates HS and then however many cats we have left by then, they're coming with us 😻
You can do it!
You and Your Dad did a real good job :) Also filming and your speaking had a very good flow to it , just the right amount of explaining the build, the systems, why its like that and how it is used, what you might change and basic cost of some products. Hey and Like the Puppy dog . Lee > TennesseeUSA. Keep up the good work
Thanks Lee. Glad you enjoyed it! We plan on doing another video about cost if you're interested in seeing it, keep an eye out :)
oh i love the pillow "storage" idea, never seen anyone do that 👍
love the sitting area lay out too
Thanks Suie! We have a brand new video on vanlife hacks that goes more into depth about the pillow idea! Glad you liked it
A German couple even puts the whole bed's stuff into a "hanging pillow cover" (like a bag) over day, to create a comfortable and good looking big pillow for the back, for sitting, watching TV or reading.
@@ooops372 lol im thinking of doing that to my daybed/guestbed/couch then theres always bedding ready
OMG Love the sweater stuffed throw pillows. Laterally the BEST thing I saw in a Van Video.
Haha thanks Monica! Happy you found it useful :)
another thing you can do is get a body pillow case and use it for big blankets jackets --any thing bulky and use it for a "headboard"or on bedside shelf
"Laterally".
Because you can also throw them sideways :-)
This is the most efficient & creative van build I’ve ever seen
Thanks Brianna! Very kind of you
Carbon monoxide detector needs to be out in the open
agreed! many people have let us know, were on it! Thank you :)
You are a smart , sweet, charming girl. It really shows in your van.
It is well organized, efficient, and charming. It felt like a real home.
Live your life well. Peace and love
Bungee cords for inside the cupboards so stuff wont fall on you when you open them. Love the set up, very homey.
Beautiful!!!! Maybe taking the fire extinguisher out of the box would be best for readily available use if need be...hopefully, never need👍
100% agree with you! Already done :)
Also suggest you mount that extinguisher by the sliding door. If you have a stove or oven fire, you won’t want to be rummaging around in a cupboard right next to that appliance. You’ll want to be out of the van, dealing with the fire from there.
@@Snowstead A fire blanket near the stove for cooking (fat) fires is also a good idea.
I love love love the little space right under the bed. Such a nice open feeling and accessible too.
Glad you liked it :) We agree about the space under the bed
best best van build ever. ive been watchingthese for a few years. this is so well organied and so homey love it. i wouldn't change anything
That’s the size of a small apartment
totally haha!
Jeremiah Mescudi that is the size of a small bedroom in most homes.
Love how knowledge she is about her van totally love her video
She beams intelligence and smart.
thank you Lola...that means a lot
and thank you Virginia :) xx
Great van build!! Building a van with my wife was the start to the greatest journey of our lives!! Can't wait to see all the great content from this channel!
Wow i watch van builds alot on you tube and this makes the 2nd best ive ever seen
Wowza..thats super humbling to hear....glad you liked the build Robert!
Hi Logan, really like your van and all the things you have done to make it your home. Like the bit of crafty wiring by dad on the fan. And i like your style, three way switch for the lighting so you '...don't need to get out of bed and go all the way to the front of the van...' to switch the lights off! Thanks for sharing. Stay safe and keep up the good work. 👍🖖😎🐶🦴
Thanks so much for taking the time to tell us what you like about the van! It means a lot!!
@@Snowstead really well thought out build :) I especially liked the contained vented toilet, and seating/dinning area. I've watched alot of van convertions and tours, this is definitely one of the best I've seen. Awesome job
Corinne Prcter wow!!! Thanks so much! That is really nice :D
The propane tank isn't in a safe place and you need a propane detector, as RVs have. The tank should be in a sealed area and vented outside or the tank located outside as RVs.
Totally understand the concern. However mounting the tank outside wasn’t an option, for various reasons. And a cabinet with a hole cut in the floor wasn’t either due to its location. You have to do the best you can with what you have, right?? And yes, I agree on the propane detector, that’s something that has to be purchased. Thanks :)
