I love my keto mojo! I use it daily! I have been fasting about20 hours per day. I had to work my way up to this! On occasion I have fasted 48-60 hours.
This is soooo helpful. Dr. Mindy is such a great educator. My fasting life is at a totally higher level reading and audio booking her books, learning how to use my keto mojo and what my numbers mean and how I can use them to make better eating decisions 😀. I feel empowered and so grateful for Dr. Mindy’s guidance and support. BTW 😊… the menopause reset on audiobooks has been life changing 🙏🏽⚡️ Thank you!
💙Thank YOU!
I use to have fasting sugars in the 110 range now I can get it to 50-60s and still be functional!
Mine was 50+ today. (2.9mmol/L. Day4 of a 5day fast. I panicked & ate.
Mine is 69 today on my day 6 18 hrs in my 72 hr fast, is that normal?
I just love the way you explain and break everything down!
Today is my 22nd day of water fast. I feel great..no headaches or any sort. My current blood sugar is 62. Is this too law
Just ordered the NutriSense reader. Last 3 day, was getting dizzy, ended up being my blood pressure. I can now cut my med in half. Working on getting rid of it all together 😻😻😻
Yesterday I checked at the end of a 30 hour fast and I measured 85 & 4.8 I was super happy to have such a high ketone count but I didn’t feel as good as I hoped I would. I’m going to keep it up of course but I’ll be glad when my energy levels are higher.
85 is awesome 🙌🙌🙌
Deep and long fasts can cause some oxalate dumping which sucks. Might look into it.
Thank you for this video. I just bought the keto mojo and did my first reading today. Unfortunately I didn’t have the timing right but I will for tomorrow! I have been trying to fast for 16 hours and I don’t find it difficult at all. The problem I have is with the foods I eat throughout the day. I am reading your book Fast Like A Girl and I am learning as I go. Thanks for the added videos as I find them easy to understand! Looking forward to the changes that will come to my overall health!
Amazing!! I’m currently at 48 glucose , 3.4 ketones and feeling great! I’m he fast was done at 99 hours only drinking water, organic well sourced coffee with MCT oil & teas without additives. I was concerned about my ketones being over 3, despite my blood sugar being low so I ate a delicious egg at 3am last night, however my readings were lower glucose this morning!!! Ketones about the same❤ I’m so grateful to have found you Dr Pelz and God bless and keep you, for how many you have helped and even SAVED!
I was keeping track of ketones with a ketone reader, but I just started keeping track of BG & Ketones with the Keto Mojo. I love their APP! You can even make notes about the time that you took the reading, ie - 1 hour after work out - hour 17 of a 36 hour fast, etc... Love it! I had to come here to figure out if my numbers are ok and I'm so glad to see they are! Yay!! 🤩 Thank you for the recommendation/referral to the Keto Mojo and as always thank you for the information!☺
Awesome to hear!!🙌
This is so clear and concise you are a great teacher...really working on this writing down what my blood sugar is doing everyday and keeping track of my macros so I can see the difference, so great to get off the scale and feel good about understanding how to get my body healthy...thanks for everything you do.
Three years ago I found Dr Mindy on RUclips. I have a lot of willpower and determination to follow her teachings but I still haven't lost the weight I need to lose. I feel like something is wrong so I recently asked my doc for a trial CGM. I've learned I have the dawn phenomenon and my blood sugar has averaged over 118 even when doing IF and a carnivore day. I have done 5 day fasts and that seems to be the only way I lose weight. I just fasted for over 36 hours and this morning my blood sugar is finally 90. I'm going to continue fasting at least three days to watch what happens with my blood sugar. Thank you for this video it helped me not to ger depressed when my sugar didn't go down quicker. I hope this encourages others who are struggling! ❤✌
Congratulations on taking your power back and healing yourself. Always remember that it's you who choose this amazing path to improve your health. Keep going and know that you have a miraculous BODY. 🤗💗👏👏
Did a 24hr last weeks Monday and this weeks Monday did a 28 hour fast too, the reasons for the small steps is as I have mentioned before migraines, so trying to just get used to it and my body incase it causes me to have any, been told its a trapeze muscle issue and hoping that in some way not just for cancer as well as gut health it can also give me some benefits for these migraines too, slowly trying to work up to a 4 day one and see from there, really are loving these videos Mindy, and will hopefully this month or next get a reader too to help as you say in this video.
That information is very helpful in understanding the Dawn effect. My morning reading is often over 100, while pre-dinner is 75-80.
This is very helpful. I was starting to worry why my BS went up in the morning but went down after 3-4 hours. Thank you so much.
Thanks Dr Mindy that was helpful to me . I wrestle with the dawning effect and have to reduce my total carbs.
Just received my keto-mojo reader and so excited to get where I need to be! Love your videos Dr Mindy!
In addition to all of you excellent content, I love you "be kind" tees😊
Thank you so much Dr Mindy I'm going into the third day of my 3 Day water fast and I just wanted to check and you once again come to the rescue with the correct info! ❤
🙌💙
Again, love your stack. I'd love to know your fave crystals. I have a stack on both wrists. I LOVE YOUR BOOK!!!!
Love it, I needed This video as my mojo reader is on its way to my house😀 thank you!!
Mine just arrived!
Haha, same here -- supposed to get mine by 9 p.m.! 🙂
Hey, I left a pretty lengthy testimony on your previous video about why your BG spikes in the morning. I just hit 18 hours of fasting and my BG is currently 99.
When I woke up, I was at 101 (previous recent numbers in the upper 90s). Then throughout the morning I went to 109, 125, 109 and now at 99.
I've only had plain water, black organic SWP decaf coffee with Stevia, water with a LIVER detox and water with a Kidney cleanse (wild crafted bitter herbs), and water with Sulfurzyme (anti inflammatory). My original goal was one more hour to get to NOON, and 19 hours. But, I am going to push on and see how far I can get today. Maybe hitting my very first 24 hour mark. I might even allow myself a little nap to help get me through; I'm pretty high energy, but I get bored easily.
did you solve it? I add MCT and that helps drop my sugar/raise ketones, but maybe you're reacting to the stevia or additives? Sometimes i do a HIIT workout to get me through too - even 10 min helps.
I am falling in love with my KetoMojo because it has empowered me to keep going and aim for specific goals metabolically speaking. Before this it was all guess work and thinking that I'm insulin resistant. Didn't know about the dawn effect so good to know. This information is so empowering and I'm so grateful. Thank you Dr. Pelz! I always look forward to your videos. Also, I am making my way through Fast Like a Girl and am excited to get into longer fasts and detoxing my body.
I love this video. It just popped up out of nowhere and the information here is EXACTLY what I was looking for. As always, my most gracious thank you to Dr Mindy😊😊
I tested my blood sugar 2 hours after dinner, and it was 54.. I repeated it 2x, and it was still 54
Thoughts?
Thank you! I feel like I can do this! I’m just starting with fasting and I’m buying your books
You can do this!!! 💪🏼🥳
I will definitely do this. I have a question I workout before I break my 17 hour fast, if I workout after I break my fast I struggle and feel nauseous. What is your feeling regarding working out in a fasted state?
Your tips are so useful relaxing anxiety among people new to fasting! Thank you so much for your dedication! 😊
here here! thanks for the explanation. the way you broke it down so well and it left me with a greater understanding. i have focussed way too much on the scale and i can see that blood sugar and ketones are the way to go. thank you
thank you. i have been researching blood sugar monitors and your answer about cost of supplies for keto mojo works for me.
When do you take the second reading? What pare the parameters for desired ketone range?
This actually depends on your body.
Never thought of monitoring blood sugar and ketones as I am just going on feeling but now see the logic.
I needed this video. I understand more how it works. Thanks 😊
Wow thank you so much for this video! It was just what I needed ❤
💙
Fasting benefit chart link please. Thank you!
New, but I am a fast Learner!!! Thks Dr Mindy
Thank You, that was may worrys, i did't no went it was too low too hi You are a Big help i need You thank You ❤️
Hi morning.i took my sugar test this morning is at 4.2 and keto is 2.8 . I do have higher than my morning blood sugar level slightly higher if I took them like before I break my fast and after my excise and doing my household running around. It’s possible you can explain to me and greatly appreciated. At my age 61 wanted to make sure have a better control on sugar and healthy. Thanks and you have been my fasting mentor since I started about a year ago. Thanks and stayed healthy.
Thank you for doing these. Very helpful
Where do you get your Be Kind tee shirts? I love them!
I saw some on Zullily
They are from the vegan society
Excellent Dr.Mindy
Thank you for all your videos Dr. Mindy. I just purchased a Kero-Mojo Testing Meter and will take your advice.
Love all the great info! Trying to focus but that amethyst ring is AhMazing!
Thanks dr mindy .i learned many health from you. I love it.
🙏💛
Very helpful, thank you
Saw my ketones at 1.6 for the first time today after doing intermittent fasting for 2 weeks and got excited, lol. It's getting easier to do every day, too.
🙌
You are awesome! All your information is always good and important. Thanks. I am always recommending people check out your channel!
Thank you, Dr. Mindy! Have a wonderful day!
I agree. Hood and cleare info. Thanks to you Dr. Mindy and team behind these videos.
I have just received my keto mojo monitor and decided to take the measurements. I am at 20th hour of my fast. Depending on how I go I will do 24 or 36 hrs. BUT what I found surprising is that at this point (20 hours of fast have past) my ketons are very low just at 0.3! Wow this is why I am still feeling hunger. So great to be able to verify this. Clearly I have work to do to become more metabolically flexible. Glucose is fine: 3.8
So great that you are monitoring your blood sugar and ketones!
@@DrMindyPelz will definitely keep doing this. Is the expectation that one kicks into ketosis within the 24 hours? when I checked again my ketons after 24 hrs they were at 0.3 (the same level as at 20 hrs) and glucose level increased from 3.8 to 4.3 ... I am now puzzled as many experts say you need 48 hours to really get into ketosis
Its the average time it takes for someone to kick into ketosis :)
Very helpful thanks. At the moment I only have a BS meter. But I'm on the path now thanks to your content. Much appreciated
Loved this video. I IF 18/6, but have not checked my ketone levels. I am going to get this reader. I am excited to see where I am at.
Thanks for the very informative video. I always wondered what numbers to look for. 😊
This was very helpful, it gives me some good idea's that I am going to try. Been having some trouble with my fasting and wait lost, answered some of my questions. Thank You
I have consistently low blood glucose. Average 75. I am not tired, shaking, dizzy or hungry.I fast most of everyday, at least 12 hours. Keto Styx are barely “trace” What does it mean?
I've been needing this information. Thank you!
Very good
Even better that you give all the necessary data in free access
Thank you, really good info, straight and simple
This was such a great and super informative video !! thank you.....
Thanks just got meter! Your videos are great. Just starting my journey!
Love your enthusiasm
Thank you so much! This video was super helpful!
Good information on diabetes and fasting and testing
Dr Mindy.
I woke up this morning and my BS WAS 150. I've never had a BS THAT HIGH. MY ketones were0.6.
I did what you said and took it 1 hour later and BS was down to139 and ketones up to 1.0 Not where I want it to be.
I immediately thought of the dawn effect. The last 4 days I've have been eating marketside prepared salads and I've noticed my carbs are around 32, 35, 39, and one day 52. Net carbs were never under 22 or 26. I keep my carbs at usually under 20, usually between 12 and 15. So I watched you video on numbers and dawn effect and found that if this doesn't resolve itself, I may need to detox. I'm hoping that this will resolve itself. I do mostly autophagy fasting or 15 hour and once a month 24 and 36 hour fasts. I need a lot of healing and it is working.
Do you have any suggestions that will help me not into panic mode.
Thank you. So blessed I found you on here..you have changed my life and my health. Any help is appreciated.
Please send fasting chart as per.
outstanding, and thank you for your efforts.
Will the ketones and blood sugar will read different premenstrual, during and after menstrual cycle? Does your period have any effect on it ? If so what reading am I looking at or should I not monitor during that time?
It doesn't, only your fasting and the food you eat will affect on blood sugar. 🙂

I know you focus on fasting, but I'd like for you to do a video on hyperPARAthyroidism. Parathyroid glands regulate calcium in your body, and few doctors know anything about this issue. My calcium levels have been too high for 10 years, and not one doctor mentioned it. That means for 10 years my body has been pulling calcium from my bones. I had to self diagnose it, and when I went to the doctor about the issue, the doctor had to pull out a medical book and look it up. It can affect anyone, but often it affects menopausal age women. Thanks.
I was diagnosed with hyperparathyroidism two years ago. Turns out the main cause is a tumor on one or more of your glands. I had surgery and this brought my calcium levels down.
Hi djh I’m in the same situation . What did you do to lower you calcium .
Fast and take EDTA. It will take excess calcium out of the body
extremely helpful, thanks! Think i need to start fasting longer because my intermittent fasting that i've been doing for 2 years now range between 16 and 20 hrs and i believe my carbs are between 20-50 grams a day. My morning glucose readings are typically mid 80's to upper 90's and my ketones hover between .4 - .8 on average. Only thing that concerns me with longer fasts is i'm not trying to lose weight. Feel like i could put on another 5 pounds actually.
Forget about weight and just feel into how great you feel. Or find some protein source that really works for you in conjunction with weight lifting.
Thanks...another great video!!!
Interesting, I love it. "You are a miracle", I like that,
Brilliant. Thank you
🙌
Very helpful! Thank you!
🤗
Dr. Mindy, I've found that intense exercise (and weightlifting in particular) seems to really jack up my blood glucose readings so I have to be careful not to do a reading too soon after exercise.
Yes, because intense exercise releases cortisol which the body treats/converts just like glucose.
@@debralee3368 absolutely true ,for the first time I'm doing long water fast ,yet I have history of high adrenal but as well I have low B12 so I did some aerobic 6mns than low OTT 8mns then in the day I did long walk now it messed up my sleep cortisol is still on I only have 3 hrs frm 11pm to 2:30 I'm up ,now 5am I'm very sleepy. Sadly my day starts at 5am but with poor sleep, I get so cranky. Next I will only do my trampoline walk and long slow day walk ,hoping it won't push my cortisol too high so I think my blood sugar then went up then I hope in today fast things goes down I only do street walk nothing else.it not my fasting is wasted.
Thank you Dr. Mindy. I love your videos ❤. What about the glucose level after the first meal? How do we read the numbers?
If you only eat clean and healthy it should be under 100mg/dL.
Thanks for this one
Excellent. New to IF and ketobiotic and dawn effect was getting me discouraged until you explained what was going on at the cellular level. I know that one of my goals is to address my insulin resistance and this information actually now has me encouraged. Thank you!
well done and u will see IF and keto will bring down your sugars very quickly. constant influx of carbs causes insulin resistance and high glucose levels in the blood so removing these carbs gives excellent effect in short period of time.
❤Very helpful!!! Thank you!
WE LOVE YOU DR MINDY
TY again and again and again :)
I notice not all glucose readers are the same. The readers varied from 15 - 30 mmo. I tried 3 different brand of readers. I love the CGMs the reading are always lower.
@DrMindyPelz . I have just tried to do the 72 hour fast with you guys. Thanks for the support ❤. I woke up this morning feeling terrible. On the morning of day 3, due to finish 72 hours this evening. I felt so ill, but I am battling cfs. Been doing keto for approximately 2 years, following you an Dr berg. Have lost weight, felt better, although i am hoping to get even better. I'm still not well enough to exercise.
When I felt so ill this morning, I only had the option to check ketones with a pee stick and it went very dark purple...so looking like well over 8. I made the decision to slowly break the fast with all your suggestions, I am slowly feeling better .
Why did my body do this, what do you suggest I do with this please? 🙏🙏🙏
Dark purple on urine ketone strips can indicate deep ketosis, but feeling ill during a fast could be due to various factors. Prioritize your health and consult with a healthcare professional for personalized guidance.
Thanks for the useful video. My morning sugars are very high Dr Mindy ! Its 10.5 mmol. I will do 24 hrs fasting and see if it can bring it low . Thanks .
That was very helpful, Dr. Mindy and now I know that I need to step up my fasting to get into ketosis and find those fat cell.
6:00 dawn effect
One important issue: (I am a currently fasting MD) : coffee lovers dont be dissapointed if following Down phenomenon you drink strong coffe - it will result in innocent glucose rise by some 10-15% due to epinephrine ejection following expresso morning coffe.
I tried a 5 day water fast…after 2 days my blood sugar was dropping to 70 and ketones were going up to 8 …after 69 hours I broke the fast…it was disappointing that I couldn’t make it all the way …why would this happen?…I did try a spoon of nut butter and some vegetable broth earlier but there was no change …blood sugar actually continued to drop to 64 …so I didn’t want to put myself in danger…if I could find out why… I would like to try it again sometime
Thank you!
I’m on day 2 with keto mojo. 9months into keto and down a ton of weight! My keton levels were .5. Now today .2! I’m eating lower then 15carbs so it sorta made me nervous. I’m going to keep testing and monitoring. Maybe it’s my protein intake from starting to lift but I’m still within my “range”.
This is a late reply to your message Boosti....and if you've figured out what's going on with your own body and this Keton thing, let me know, please! I've been on the "PHD Weightloss" diet for five months (more of a Mediterranean diet, than keto, but pretty close) and have lost 60 lbs. so far, 10 lbs. to go to reach goal! Wooo hooo! I've also been on a disciplined weight lifting program and been taking daily 1 hr walks for the last 20 weeks! I bought a Keto Mojo monitor about a week ago and have been tracking my numbers a total of seven or eight times now. I've done several fasts now: a 17 hr., a 24 hr, and I just finished a 36 hr fast all with water only. One of the meals in between my fasts was a party I went to with friends and it was a total Mexican dinner blow-out! (oops, I do that now and then.)
I've now taken seven GKI tests on the Mojo and all of my blood glucose readings are still high? The lowest I've logged in so far has been 97 and the highest, twice now has been 117? It seems to be hard for me to get into Ketosis, but none the less as a result of just finishing up a 36 hr. fast, I've still dropped another4 lbs.? So, I still seem to be burning fat. Oh, I also usually eat way too much protein too, like you, but I've attributed that to the weight lifting? I know I've packed on some good muscle in this journey of weight loss in the last five months, but how much I couldn't say? Anyway, I'm 69 yrs. young. I feel great, look great, have a ton of energy. Not doing to bad for an old man, but right now, I'm just trying to figure out what my body is doing with the blood sugar/glucose and Keto thing? This is so important as I'll be going into maintenance soon and I need to figure out exactly how many carbs my body can tolerate without packing back on the weight and screwing this whole thing up. I sure as hell, don't want to revert back into old habits. Hope this thread was useful?
@@scottybd4919excess protein is converted to glucose. Sounds like you need to fine-tune your macros and/or calories if you want to train your body to metabolically switch between using sugar and fat as fuel.
Thank you for this great video. Really enjoying learning from Dr Mindy. Love my CGM, such a great tool. Just done a 24hr fast, broken last night. Now doing 17hr keto fast. It says LBGI is below 1.1 but MBG is 5.3. Is the low LBGI a sign the fast needs breaking or MBG what to look at?
Excellent. Concise and right to the point. I learn so much from your videos. Q, if I were to do a water fast, am I able to combine it with the fast mimicking time included? Or, does the water fast need to remain as is? thanks.
Hair is lovely Dr M💇💓
A 20 hr dry fast got my ketones to 1.1, but it dropped to .2 as soon as I drank an ate.
I’m in the middle of a 48 hr water fast. I got my Keto Mojo meter so I took my readings 2x today. My glucose was 30 points higher and my ketones were lower after working out and sitting in the sauna.
I’m trying to confirm why this happened and if I should worry. Does anyone know if Dr Mindy has ever talked about this situation?
I don't think I'm making the switch. I recently added a fast on monday to my tre, so 42 hours in total, and I was white knuckling it the whole time, and then really weak when I finally did eat. I'm hoping it will be easier next Monday!
Perfect timing to watch this video Dr Mindy. My blood sugar was 109 this morning and my ketones were 0.7 6 hours later my blood is 76 and my ketones went down to 0.2. and I was just thinking what in the world did I do wrong? well I ate a cup of cottage cheese with three carbs and 14 g of protein about an hour and a half ago could that be my problem?
Very helpful
My average BS is between 60-70. Do you have ideal readings for a fasted 12, 20, 24 and 36 hrs?
Dr Mindy Pelz, I love you.
Thank you. I have no history of diabetes. After 4-5 months of intermittent fasting and fasting, I have started using NFC-enabled blood sugar monitoring. My glucose levels go down to 60-65. Is it problematic?
Thank you for your message and sharing with me, unfortunately, I cannot touch on this not knowing your medical history. I would highly advise reaching out to your health practitioner to discuss the best possible solution for YOU 💙
If you'd like to consider doing a consultation with my team to better understand, I'll leave the link here for you as well: bit.ly/3LkFmZQ
First, thank you Mindy for all your great tips!! It is very helpful. I do have a question: I just had a 20 hour fast today. In the morning my glucose level was 84, and eight hours later it had gone up to 95!! How can this be if was fasting for 20 hours?.....
