  • We tested out the best options of four different kinds of ketone testing monitors. We tested the SiBio Continuous Ketone Monitor, the KetoMojo Blood Ketone and Glucose Monitor, the Biosense Breathalyzer, and the Ketowise Ketone Urine Test Strips. We share how each one was helpful or unhelpful, and which one we ultimately recommend using.

    The pee strips are actually measuring excess ketones. So it's a good measure for whether you ARE or are NOT in ketosis, but not good at all for knowing the level of ketones in your blood.

      I tried the strips and before dinner it was clearly in the small to moderate range but about 1.5 hours later I measured again it just gave me some light brownish color that's hard to tell which range it's in. so I'm not sure how to interpret that data 😅

    Great video! Your favorite is the one I was hoping (keto mojo)! That's what I rely on and trust and now I don't have to get the other ones. I did try some breathalyzer called ketonix, but I couldn't figure out how to breathe to get any accurate reading lol! And I always learn something from your videos - thank you! 😃

    thank you Lauren, I use the blood ketone strips on a regular basis, although I find purchasing the strips very expensive long term so will hopefully be able to use them less at some point...

    You might want to try the Acetrack breath acetone monitor. I had the same problem with my Biosense and the Acetrack will show you acetone readings over 40. Otherwise I still prick daily with ketomojo myself. Thanks for the video!

    Did you ask what dr palmer has used on his patients? If 1.5 + is the number to get consistently for 2 months then i want to test to see if what im doing is spot on, then im good to carry on! Saw your video so i thought id ask. You look great btw. Thank you

    I use the sibio ckm and I’ve tested for two weeks with ketomojo. In my tests actually Sibio ckm was extremely accurate, only 0.1mmols +/- differed from ketomojo. Perhaps yours might have an issue

  • @md82892
    @md82892 29 дней назад

    I’m extremely surprised that you have 4.0 mmol/lt as your ketone levels. I could go max 0.8 eventhough I’m trying very hard to follow a ketogenic diet.

    Is it safe to drink diet soda if you're in a condition?

    • @jeanpaultongeren125

      soda's are bad for ones health, and on keto you r not allowed to eat sugar.

    I just bought a breathalyzer. It was only $39. So I thought it would be a cheap way to start measuring my Ketones. Not too big on pricking my finger, so I'll have to pass on the others.

    Is it truly needed ?? Sensor this, tracking that ..
    - I am also switching to carnivore/keto, but I am taking it *MUCH* more relaxed.
    Goal: 20 gr carbon-hydrates a day, max. What it really boils down to how honest you are to yourself, and how stringent you decide to be :ø)

      She's doing *medical* keto combined with other metabolic therapies, which is VERY different from regular keto. She's also doing it under the direction/guidance of a medical team. As she references in the video, measuring the exact levels is crucial in maintaining effective *medical* keto.
      This is also a dedicated project - she's gathering this data and evaluating the sensors for more reasons than just tracking what level of ketosis she's in. As she says in other videos on this project, the focus is also on providing large amounts of accurate resources and other information about keto.
      Also, the Carnivore Diet and Ketogenic Diet are two different diets.
      So for a non-medical, "relaxed" ketogenic diet, no, you don't necessarily need to do this tracking, although it is still helpful in various ways. For medical keto, yes, the tracking, and the most accurate tracking possible, is absolutely necessary.
      If you haven't watched through her other videos on this project, I highly recommend doing so!
      I hope this answered your question well. Please feel free to ask any additional questions!

      @mygirldarby 3 месяца назад +1

      I can't imagine anyone buying expensive trackers and tracking their "ketone levels" long term. I bet Lauren will not be regularly blowing into those monitors or peeing on those sticks in a year. Humans just don't want to live that way for life unless they absolutely have to, like in the case of type 1 diabetes. There is no reason for anyone who isn't doing any diet for medical reasons (like as an experiment for treating a mental illness), to use monitoring devices beyond their scale.
      Whole grains, vegetables and fruit never made anyone obese and denying yourself these healthy foods will not make you healthy. You may lose weight from such a strange diet in the short term, but losing weight at the expense of your long-term health is never wise.

    • @EgonSorensen
      @EgonSorensen 3 месяца назад

      @@mygirldarby Thanks for your input.
      I can't see Lauren do all these things long term either, nor can I see myself doing it.
      I have friends who has changed to carnivore, and they were like Lauren in the beginning - Expensive apps, tracking equipment, daily measuring, etc.
      After some time, they stopped weighing food, entering into apps, etc. (Now, they're just eating 'normally' - just without so many carbs)
      Progress takes time, fortunately for me I'm able to feel how my body is doing - but I can relate if there's people out there with no body-feedback who is needing sensors and monitoring to 'see they're progressing'
      And oh, am I the only one who would rather buy better meat, than spending a lot of money on test equipment that lasts for 1 week?
