Now I know many are gonna say things like "post a link to where I can by camera x for y amount of dollars".
To all those I say now, No.
Life is to short for me to do the work for you when I had to do it myself.
If I see a good deal and post it here the camera is sold within 5 seconds and I have to look for another.
So there is no point, you have to do the leg work.

I'm not even in the market for a new camera; I just watched because I love the mood of your videos.
Thanks for watching :)

That's a lot of good karma right there. You're a good man. :-)
Agreed, a very good guy.
8ulls3y3 just about to comment on how good of a man he was but you beat me to it
Yeah, totally! Fair play Mattias!
Your dog is the official standard for exposure and sharpness tests..nice work
Her shadow is "absolute black."
Love that you gave back someones stolen goods.
Much respect easy follow just for that act of kindness.
I like all your videos but this one more than the others. Sending the stolen camera back to his owner is the kind of things I appreciate and cherish and you made my day. I hope life sends you another one in return you deserve it
What you did to return the camera is very, very admirable!
SahanTheMighty WW
Agreed! That earned a sub from me right away! The world needs more people like Mattias
I just subscribed due to that fact too.
I agree.
I just wonder if there wasn't a way to get your money back from eBay.
WOW, you were already my favorite RUclipsr but after that Leica T story man, your just number 1 in my book. Very stand up, honest and selfless. Many blessings to you Mattias.
Every camera/gadget that you review always looks good..not like most reviewers that looking for the weaknesses, your reviews lead us to empower every aspect, maximise the potential and forgive the weakness of the camera..very inspiring..youtube needs more reviewer like you
That's one lovely comment, thank you! :)
Words of wisdom right there! Still very true.
Videos worth waiting for! Really nice. Great respect to you for returning that Leica.
I am very afraid with Mattias burling videos, his video has the potential to inflate the price of old gears😂😂😂
Mattias, I love your videos, your choice of music, your photography and of course Gunpowder. Over recent months you've inspired me to dive into the world of classic lenses and I find I'm enjoying photography more than ever - thank you!
Well done for returning the camera. We need more people like you in this odd world.
I absolutely thank you for this video. It's the reason why I decided to buy the Leica T which is probably the best decision in my whole photography-live. I bought it from an trusted reseller for Leica and got it for an fantastic price.
+paulinvideo Cool, yeah I love that camera alot :)
Also thank you for being so honest with your Leica purchase. You are an admirable person.
Absolutely magnificent video, Matthias. In these days of shallow and heated debates, fanboish arguments and show offs about autofocus, your videos are a breath of fresh air, showing what magnificent things can be done with lesser features. Big thumbs up!
Thank you my friend!
Brilliantly said, wholeheartedly agree - "a breath of fresh air" is a perfect description of how different and excellent this channel is.
Man I admire and respect you even more now, that kind of honesty is a lost quality nowadays, thanks for mentioning my beloved EOS M which I bought inspired by you, sucks in auto focus but good lighting and lenses make it as good as any other 18 mp /1080p canon camera and colors are amazing, all other cameras you mentioned are quite nice I don't know if I would like a MFT camera, thanks Matías 👍👍👌✋
must be so hard letting go of something that you've fallen in love with but it's the best and admirable decision you've made. love your content :)
You are one of few - I really enjoy your videos. Great inspiration...thanks...
I love your videos and wish you uploaded more frequently :)
I really enjoy your videos Mattias. Thank you.
Salute to your attitude!
Nice list. I just bought the Olympus 17mm F1.8 for my GH5 and OMG I love it. I also own the 45 F1.8 which I love too. the 17 and 45 are my photo kit now :)
Yeah they go great together. perfect size for the jacket pocket and great lengths for the format.
Wow! I really enjoy your work. That was incredibly a beautiful humane thing you did!
I have been following Mattias for some time now and hard to believe only 62K subscribers when it should be easily 620K with a quality of videos in his work.
What exactly drove you nuts with the G7? Great review and I really like your choice of music and that you list the source. Bravo!
There is a sleep mode for the display thats not possible to turn off. So every now and then you press record and nothing happens. Missing shots is always is to annoying imo.
You earned a new subscriber! Great work indeed man! Much appreciated! :)
Hi Mattias, thanks for the video! For full frame I can highly recommend the Canon RP. You can adapt so much lenses on this camera. Feel free to ask if you have questions about this camera! Best wishes, Ralf
Man! I always get amazed with your videos. The way you show the colors and even the contrast of the black and white inspires me. For last, the music, always fit. Thank you for sharing your pictures. Daniel, from Brazil.
I agree that EOS M is a good video camera, especially at that price. The AF is super slow but you will use manual focus in video anyway. I own one with ML installed, and this is my test video shot: ruclips.net/video/V_I9n_PPj_A/видео.html
i remember watching your lumia camera review for the first time. For smartphone camera review it was really good, detailed and well explained. Sometimes it feels like im watching documentary. I mean your video editing and your voice really matches and it really calms me down for some reason. Keep up the good work my good man.
Class - hope you get some luck in return.
I found your channel while researching Fuji cameras and I’m so thankful I did. Your videos have such a wonderful demeanor and charm that I click on them without thinking about it, not something i can say for very many channels. Wonderful story about you returning that mans Leica as well. Thank you for such beautiful videos!!
Wow, the EP5 is, as you say, a great stills camera. Those Olympus MFTs should be way more popular than they are. The related OMD EM5 with its OVF would be even better -- and they're really cheap these days
7:31 Pure Love.
Stolen Camera Finder is the biggest win for me on this one. I did not know such a thing existed. I bought most of my cameras used.
You are my favourite photographer.
Your videos are so much fun to watch and that short story about your history with the Leica T was truly inspirational.
I have also decided on my next camera purchase thanks to you! Soon I will be the proud owner of a Fujifilm X70. Thank you for reviewing it.
Keep up the amazing work Mattias :)
I will try :)
Hi, it was very awesome of you to double check with the camera if it was stolen good or not. I'm sure for any camera or photographer lovers there is nothing more devastating than losing a beloved camera.
Mad respect for you Mattias, hands down you're one of the best photography channels and its so nice to know is run by such a great human.
The Leica T is soooo underrated! I love it so much. I use it for my photography and RUclips videos. ....downside is there is no built in mic input.
Wow. Never thought about buying a camera and then findingout that it was stolen :(
You got my subscription for giving that Leica back.
The world needs more of your kind!
Love your videos, keep up the good work!! By the way, are your websites that you have mentioned here running? i am trying to access them and they wont open. Is there a country restriction of any sort? cheers!
kanishka no they all work. Seems to be a problem with the links from RUclips.
Did you say that you don't like the flip out screen but do like the tilting screen? If so, me too :) I can't get into that for still. This is why I like the Axxx line of cameras from Sony and why I am using an Olympus em10 mark 2 which has the same type of compact "footprint".
Yeah I think its way better. Super annoying to have it on the side making the camera twice as wide. And there are plenty of tilt screens that also can be flipped up or down for selfies, etc. So I really don't see the point for fully articulating other than on video centered cameras.
Very glad to see the E-P5 getting the respect it deserves, in particular for the sublime ergonomics. If only they found a way to shoehorn a built-in viewfinder into the body like the PEN-F, it would have been close to perfect.
+Humza Ahmad A tilt screen instead of fully articulated on the Pen-F plus the same build quality as the ep5 and it would have been a monster.
You are just way too awesome!
Buster475 iii
this episode is a life lessons
thanks Matthias
you are a full of love person
the endings to your videos are always perfect
I impulsed bought the eos m in 2013 when it went on sale for $300, by that time a firmware update was available and "fixed" the auto focus but barely. still use it today with the 22mm. this camera started me out on photography and taught me how to take my time with shooting because it didn't have a lot of features and the af was so unreliable. I mainly shoot Sony now, and when I switch back from time to time it's like shooting in the stone ages. it's still super fun to shoot with because i installed magic lantern and a nice compact time lapse camera.
Very cool man, you should make movies
Nice video as always and good on yah for returning that camera! Well done.
And, it's always a pleasure to see Gunpowder. I feel like I know her already. Lol!
I have never said this to anyone but you... your channel is underrated! Thank you for the great informational videos and you are an amazing person for giving the camera back.
Thumbs up for your decision for returning the Leica to its original owner.
I love your dog! what is the name
Gunpowder.
i subscribed today watched 3 videos and loved the dog pics.
I subscribed just a moment ago, then watched this video and heard about the returned stolen camera. Can I subscribe again? (Great content btw)
I absolutely loved the vibe of this video, and excellent job returning that camera to his owner. So much respect!
What an awesome way to end your video!
As usual, a fine, informative and relaxing video.
Loved all the music!
Thanks to this video I now have both the Olympus EP-5 and the Panasonic GX7. The EP5 feels like a top-top-quality-premium product, but the GX7 feels so much better in my (large) hands, and I much prefer using it - despite the EVF being a bit rubbish (imho), and certainly not in the same league as the excellent VF2 that I use on the Olympus. Overall I'm very happy with both cameras, so thanks Mattias!
Glad to hear :)
Good day Mattias, I'm dipa from Indonesia.
I've always using your perspective about taking picture, which image quality is the first priority rather than the features and the camera age. Which is cool.
If you don't mind, I'd like to asking your opinion regarding my plan to buy my first camera.
I have several option which quite meet my budget, such as :
- Olympus Stylus XZ2
- Lumix GX1 + 20mm f1.7
- Fujifilm X70
- Ricoh GR II
My objectives on using camera is for daily use as a hobby and traveling, so i have some key points that i hope will be embrace by its camera, those are :
- sharpness
- detail
- color (i do like your color preference)
- portability
Thank you in advance
Kind Regards
thats some serious karma man... good on you.. I'm considering either leica T or x100f, which one do you think is better?
Benfica é o Melhor I prefer the T, but thats just me.
Love the stolen camera story made me feel proud, to be a fellow human being love ya
Your sound Is very wonderful I fill soo relaxed when I watch your video the music is top nach
I found a Sony Video Camera, at the time over GBP 1500, by Chester Racecourse in the mid ~90`s! It had been left at the tour bus stop under a Bench. Like you I handed it in to the Nearby Metropolitan Police Station.
After some months I enquired if the Kit had been reunited with its owner, which indeed it had, Someone from the south of the UK. They hadn`t even left a thank you note or phoned to say thanks! Germans are nicer people than English! (Maybe you`re not German) Dutch then?
You are good person bring happy to stranger
I really think you should give the nikon d3200 somw praise for being a €150 24mp aps-c dslr
Damn, Mattias, you are one nice guy, would love to be your friend. I've learned a lot from your videos.
Really like your attitude to cameras. Instead of saying "Oh just buy that top-noch 2500€ Sony or you won't be a good photographer" you just stay minimalistic. Is it because you are a swede? 😅
Great job man. It added a wonderful narrative to this video. Good Karma be upon ya!
Your videos are equal parts atmospheric and informative--that's why I love them. Love your dog, too. Also--you have a good eye for photography. But I am pointing out the obvious.
You are wonderful. Please receive this little piece of goodness for your soul.
forgive me, i have played the part of the leica t, with the minolta 50mm lens over and over but cannot, simply cannot, grasp what you are saying. what was the process of getting that lens on to that camera, please? love your stuff.
I used an adapter :)
What a wonderful video and story. You’re a good man 👍
You should try the Lumix G6, its a great affordable camera you might like.
That was very honest of you sir! And your videos are great, informative and entertaining.
Every shot you make is like a dream...
Good karma!!! What what comes around goes around :)
You are such a great human! You deserve much more recognition. I am huge fan of your photography and videos!
Very nice of you to say!
You should have reviewed the Leica before you returned it. If I was the owner, I wouldn't mind that little delay.
"Easy to use, hard to forget" is also the motto of the martial art, Krav Maga!
See, I do come back and re-watch your videos. Often, I notice something new.
Another good bargain camera is the Samsung NX30. Fully articulating touch screen, pull out and tilting EVF, microphone input jack, APS-C sensor, etc.
Am I the only one who think Panasonic bodies produce footage with obvious grey tint?
ima get a leica t cause I want to say that I have a leica and also because doing photography on an iphone just feels wierd...
Thanks to you for returning the stolen camera to the owner.
I have lost several cameras to theft, and it really hurts.
Hey,it's really cool! what is the vintage lens used for the G7? Thanks for the vidéo!
A Yachica 50mm and a Yahikor 28mm.
This is the 50mm, ruclips.net/video/WAJVKLbcxuA/видео.html
thanks!
wow!!! with the crop factor on the gh4,it will make it a 100mm?! that's huge!
Felt nice to see Fristadstorget Eskilstuna in one of the shots!
You have amazing pictures...but don't think I can afford these camera's any time soon. Hope you come across another Leica T soon.
ruclips.net/video/_5c4Ty1LZq0/видео.html
What is the vintage len you used for the castle scene in the g7 video? That looks amazing
Good man! You can't put a price on that.
Good guy! I hate Ebay do for that reason. You never really know. :/
Sir ive been following your videos because for me you combine the best of commentary / film quality/ very soothing voice / GUNPOWDER! In one, not to mention the appropriate background music! The photos are PERFECT! i wonder if you hold various photography lectures ? I will be more than willing to meet you in person and learn from you.
I have a question, though sir. You had me with the x70. And im 70% sure im getting it. But aside from it, is there another compact camera that you would consider? Or simply put, among all the pther compact cameras you have reviewed what is the best?
Thank you and more more more youtube videos plsssssss.
Thank you for the kind words!
The closest compact competitor to the X70 is the Ricoh GR from my latest video. Choosing between the two isnt exactly easy.
Glad you gained some karma and made someone happy. Thanks for the great video!
Can you make a tutorial on how to shoot raw with the eos m, mine stops after a few seconds, I see you have 3x the bitrate and a really high resolution (I have a fast card)
wow, awesome morals 👍
Mattias,
I enjoy your videos very much. I am relatively new to photography and am looking at two relatively low cost cameras at this point - the fuji x-pro1 and the fuji x-m1. I want to learnt he right way and lern to shoot manual. It is also important to me that the camera not be irrelevant as I advance in my skills. Which would you recommend? Thanks, Evan
X-Pro1 is a cool camera.
what site are you using to buy these cameras at those prices?
Wait, what was the first camera, was it Canon EOS m3 or m10, and does that m3 or m10 shoot at raw in 24fps with magic lantern. I could not tell because it looked like a lower frame rate. I love your videos man keep it up I can't wait till you get to 1mil subs
It was the original EOS-M. The m3 and m10 cant shoot raw video as far as I know.
Time for an E-P5 budget camera review perhaps...
Dude you are a champ for returning that camera!!
OMG that music, if someone else knew what i was talking about
