Paul Rogers still is one of the best rock and blues voices out there I was blessed to have seen Bad Company live over a dozen times. Paul was my first musician crush. He was seriously hot ;)
I was a teenager in the 70s. At high school we all swapped our LP records with each other. Everyone had different records by different artists, so we ALL got a good sampling and grounding in 70s Rock. We had a 40 year reunion in 2017 and I flew to South Africa from New Zealand to attend. I kept on walking around the room talking to different guys and listing the records they had and we swapped. There was lots of laughter and memories and was one of the best nights of my life. The 70s is truly the greatest era for Rock music.
I agree the studio version is so much better ..don’t understand why you guys always pick a live version of a song that you haven’t heard yet.. not the same quality .. just not the same …just a suggestion. I would listen to you more if you did that😎
Studio versions are what they meant for the listeners to hear. They are perfectly engineered. Reactors need to listen to the studio’s one first for the fullest appreciation. Live versions are adapted; sometimes too way off, just to be different from the original.
The lead singer of Bad Company, Paul Rodgers has been said to have one of THE best voices in Rock! This band is fantastic! This is a deep rabbit hole you could go down. They have sooooo many great songs! Ready for Love, Movin On, Rock N Roll Fantasy, Shooting Star, Bad Company and many more!!!! Im do glad i got to see these guys in concert many years ago!!! Maybe one of the other songs will hit that PDC mark for you. Maybe the actual song Bad Company!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤
I'm willing to bet since this brilliant and iconic song was released all those years ago, there's been many babies around the world made to Paul Rodgers' legendary vocals. Bad Co. were an outstanding rock band from the UK with many fabulous hits. One of the main contributors to the 'progressive' rock era.
"Shooting Star" & title song "Bad Company" next please. 😉 They def mix mellow, genuine, sensual affection with bursts of grind. 🌷 Love this group. ❤ (Def people of this day & age today has been so exposed & desensitized to such a degree that many ppl just gotta have it really rough, raunchy & wild to get where they wanna go.) Back then - so many things & events had not happened yet. But you're right, Britt, no matter what era, "diff strokes for diff folks" will always be the case.
As a Bad Company fan since the 70s, the studio version IS iconic and studio cuts should always be listened to first.... BUT I don't agree with all the comments saying the studio version is "so much better". This live version is outstanding. I *really* dig Paul's vocal treatment/embellishments on this one (better than studio), and the band is on point.
I lived in NE Atlanta near North Druid Hills and Briarcliff Rds and there was a guy in a bar band that lived at the bottom of the street. I remember when this came out and, as I walked to a friend's house, the guy practicing the lead part over, and over , again. Sounded great. Early 70s because I was still walking. 14/15 years 74/75 maybe.
True story. When I played in a Praise band, we played this as the Pastor walked up to preach a lesson on Sex and marriage. We played "let's get it on" as the after service walkout. As the lead guitarist it's such a fun song to play.
Great reaction. So many great Bad Company songs and grew up on them. I’d say my fav version is when Paul was with Queen and they do this song live in concert and I love. Don’t twist it tho cause I love original just as well.
Has she done Black Coffee by Humble Pie? The live one, from the old TV show (Old Grey Whistle Test?).That's prob PDC territory. Smokin vocals by Steve Marriot!
Hi Britt, love your hair❤. The singer, Paul Rodgers, toured with Queen after Freddie's passing. The concerts were a mixture of Queen and Paul's music, including this one. If you are able I'd recommend a look at the "Return of the Champions" show. You dont need to do a reaction but I do think you will enjoy the show. Thanks for another great reaction 😃 ❤
This may have been one of their best known songs however, I wouldn’t say it was their best . Rock and Roll Fantasy Running with the Pack Silver, Blue and Gold Seagull Anna I’m pretty sure there are more that have escaped my failing memory…. ;). Many others have already been mentioned.
Honey! There were definitely babies made to this song! You should listen to the studio version and base your decision on that. This is a mellow, sexy song, for sure.
Check out Free performing Mr Big. The singer and drummer in the band were in Free before this. Not PDC, but a great performance. As others will say, after Queen decided to perform again, Paul Rodgers sang with Queen. But he is best known for Bad Company. You should try more Bad Company.
Hey Britt. This is one of my favorite bands. Singer has a very bluesy voice. He sounds good live too. Ive seen them in Detroit. On a personal note, I didnt get that # before it disapeared but I was also scared cause I knew I made you mad 😤 and I luv ya and didnt want you to kick my ass
Britt Im with you on this one. Now I love me some Bad Company and saw them in concert when I was a teenager. But I never liked this song. Never cared for the transition from ballad to rockin geeetar! I would usually fast forward over this one. And in concert it was potty break. Oh Good morning❤️
I think sometimes (I know you’ve heard this before) the live versions do not give the songs justice at all. Paul Rodgers is one of THE BEST voices of rock. He actually sang lead with Queen after Freddy passed away. Bad Company is one of the best, this live performance was not a good representation of their work. But, I get what you’re saying. I think it’s the lyrics more than the delivery with this one ( for PDC qualification)
I'm with you 100%. There were a good few of these commercialy successful rock anthems that were just to consciously sytriving to be PDC even before it was a thing. The music is good, great even, Toto, Journey, U2 even and some that became a bit nearer the mark, Guns and Roses, AC/DC etc. They had some GREAT tracks but for the most part it was just GOOD MUSIC - but it doesn't make your toes curl. Dire Straits is another, some epic music, but just too 'refined', too contrived. Give me a decent ZEp track, or even Supertramp, where the music takes over and it becomes more than just a clever, if pretty, ditty with a couple of memorable climaxes (if you'll pardon the word). These tracks (mid-70's I thnk) were the point at which 'heavy rock' started to build a commercial viability and undergorund became mainstream, and the music just lost its edge. Great track, a real classic. but nmot raw enough for me. Try Leona Lewis 'The First Time ever I sw your face' - live at the Diva show. Not rock, just exquisite! ruclips.net/video/tEGFuXGHMdY/видео.html
I don't want to embarrass anyone, especially Britt... but... The song is performed with the tempo of a "session of making love"... Starts out soft and tender. Then it quickly goes for a few "tender" spots... Slows back down... to tease a little. Both people know what's gonna happen, but by slowing down, it makes each touch "more special"... Then it ends...
Yes...studio version much better (Paul Rodgers one of the most iconic singers in history). Imagine being a senior in high school in 1975 when this song came out. Young, in love, free and hor nee. Soooo many choices in music we had in the 70's. Bad Company, Captain and Tenille, Barry White, Earth, Wind and Fire, Bee Gees, Elton John, Wings, Jethro Tull, Gladys Knight and the Pips and on and on. I challenge you to take a look at the Top 100 songs of 1975 and take note of how many different styles and genres of music there was to choose from. Music that is still being listened to today. The best music ever made IMO. 🙃
This was one of Bad Company's best songs, along with Shooting Star, that one is sad at the end. But for something PDC worthy, take a listen at two songs by my favorite R&B group, the Whispers, namely Are You Going My Way, and Do They Turn You On.
Britt, a new artists/genres for you, 1. Keb Mo' - try "Tell Everybody I Know" or "She Just Wants to Dance" as starting points. Then jump into Tom Waits, start with Heart Attack and Vine, Tom is VERY unique.
Please listen to More Than Love by Los Lonely Boys! You’ll love it! I just watched your reaction to Heaven by them and I loved it! Loved this one too btw, Bad Company has been with me since my childhood ❤
Not to take anything away from Bad Company, but if you are curious enough Kid Rock redone this song and I think it's a pretty solid remake! If ya wanna give it a try 😁😉
Here’s a great version of the song: Susannah Hoffs (of The Bangles) giving it her all (love the intro), and a super-studly lead guitarist. ruclips.net/video/_rOEf9vF1kc/видео.html
Yea, this is one of those odd instances where the live is not the same "quality" as the studio... Anyways, music is music. All the best to you. Cheers.
I ran out of tomatoes before you interrupted the guitar solo. Then I found some wet lettuce. About the song the beginning is telling you how he feels. The instrumental back end is how he is going to do it to you. The bang ING of the drum and guitar emphasized how it would sound. Work with that.
Britt It doesn't matter to me if you want to drop your panties to this song. I just hope you like it. Ain't judgin' just ask my Mom she'll tell ya I don't do that. lolol
Paul Rodgers had one of the best rock voices ever! He is great in the band Free also
All Right Now
Free changed to Bad Company.

The studio version is so much better !!!!!
Yeah I agree. Sounds so much better has a lot more power in the engineering
@@LordVader66 Exactly! This was a weak version! She reacted to wrong one !

My upper teen years was the 70’s. I graduated high school in 76, bicentennial baby,
I got to see Bad Company in Shreveport La. Awesome show
The only band Led Zepplin ever signed to their Swan Song label, and B.C. gave us 4 very good, raw rock and bluesy sounding LP's.
The music intro always puts Crosby, Stills, and Nash's Southern Cross in my head

STUDIO VERSION FAR BETTER NOT EVEN CLOSE
Well when you don’t know you don’t know. I’ll still will listen Brit

A girl I use to work with. Used this as her first dance song at her wedding
The song def builds to a climax :D
🍅, lol. Bad Company was one of the biggest rock bands in the 70's and early to mid 80s, and Iove Paul Rodgers voice.

We went from songs like this to WAP. America has fallen.
Britt this was 1975 not 1995 like GNR ... Check out .. Holy water, Burnin sky, Seagull
Guns and Roses is 30 minutes bed breaker and Bad Company is a marathon all nighter.
Thankful for Paul Rodgers being in my life!
Agreed studio version is perfect!! Also another fun version of this song is a live version by Susanna Hoffs from the Bengles.
Lookin Amazin Britt!! Love the curls!!

If you haven't yet you should listen to Miracles by Jefferson Starship~
The album version, not the single.
The long version for sure, needs to be the studio version though.
Agreed!
Great tune 💯💯
Bad Company "Ready for love" and " Shooting star"

Eric Church “Wrecking Ball”.

I think they may have chosen it for content and not hotness. You need to listen to Rock Candy by Montrose, That will make you tingle.
"There's No Way" by Alabama is definitely a PDC song. React to the video and see for yourself. :)
I agree with you Britt...it isn't that OMG, make ya get goosies kind of song! Although, I love it and grew up with this music in the 70's! ❤
Humble pie black coffee

still another live version when a studio would be much better
Listen to the original version, a little better. Listen to all the artists that covered it.
It's a very chill song. But I can def see it not being a "panty dropper". You keep doing you!
Yea, this is one of those odd instances where the live is not the same "quality" as the studio...
Anyways, music is music.
All the best to you.
Cheers.
It's okay it it didn't do it for you! A 70s rocker chick didn't have the 80s rock to compare to. That one "b'you" guitar note did something for me...
I’m a big bad company fan but don’t feel like they are PDC worthy, they do have many hits though. Holy water is a great song.
This was written for you
What happens if your hubby comes home and that's playing on his phone? May we don't need to know. Oh heck, yeah, we do.
this band has better songs. But a agree on PDC.

Maybe there’s a difference between between sex and making love
🍅🍅🍅 lol
Album version is better 🤷🏻♂️
The studio version has a lot more energy than this one, and it's better.
For what it's worth, I always thought this song was a lot like good sex. All the tempo changes are winding up to a big finish, if you get my drift
This live version is not mixed as well as the studio song. Missing something.
B3st do the record in this case
Freshman year in high school for me.
The studio version is 10 times better than this rendition.
