You can hear how much fun they had recording this together
Not at all. They hated being together. Freddy was doing a lot of drugs and MJ insisted on having his pet Llama in the studio. It was a cool idea that ended up as a nightmare for both.
Ferra T WTF are you saying? They were friends and they estimate each other.
+FerraT...hehehe you know damn well that is NOT true. Still funny scenario though. I just hope they didn't, at any point in time, leave the llama alone with the drugs.
The thing about the pet is completely true, it was a monkey called Bubbles, freddie was not so happy with the aninal next to him when recording and complained that Bubbles was a bizarre distraction because Jackson insisted on bringing the animal into the studio and asking for its views on their singing. Asking if they needed to repeat it or not, so freddie left the studio and thats way they didnt finish, so stick to the facts
Ferra T that's a lie

It wouldn't have really worked. It's two different crowds. As much as Queen turned into a pop rock band at the time they still come from different roots and appealed to different people. What do you think would've happened when Queen plays one of the harder rock songs from their 70s catalogue?? And Michael dancing to a buncha hard rock fans? Nah
(Not to mention when Queen went disco it really alienated their fanbase. Michael *came from* disco)
marcy唯美 yeah I see where you’re coming from. Michael was more pop and r&b, although you know he did some rock songs as well? For example, ‘Dirty Diana’ was one of his hard rock songs he performed and danced to on stage. Also ‘Give In To Me’ was another hard rock song he did on his album ‘Dangerous’. Not to mention he did a cover of the famous Beatles song ‘Come Together’ in the 80s (he made a whole video for it and everything) which he later put on his album ‘HIStory’. So Michael can definitely handle hard rock.

Michael focused more on POP while Freddie focused on ROCK. Completely different genres, voice, music, everything. NONE of them is better than the other. Massive fan of them both, BOTH their vocal/ voice ranges are different. Freddie specifically likes using his natural deeper tone in songs while Michael keeps it mid-range to high pitched. Makes me furious that some people get personal on here and insult either Freddie's sexuality or Michael's voice saying it's outshone by Freddie's. I personally think their voices blended well together, a nice contrast between a high tone to a low tone. Neither of them outshone each other, their voices complimented one another so to all the small minded people speaking negatively or trying, and yes I mean 'trying' to compare them.. Stfu.

This song State of Shock was also done by The Jacksons back in he day. I love this version with Michael Jackson and Freddie Mercury. Wow!
It was on a Jacksons album but it was basically a glorified solo MJ duet with Mick Jagger. By that point, the Jacksons were barely a group and the Victory album was little more than a cash grab by MJ's brothers to mooch off of his Thriller superstardom. Most of the songs on the album are solo songs by the various brothers.

@@earltan7067 Every generation considers new music coming out from the newer generations to be worse than they were born listening to. What if I told you that's what people thought about jazz at first? Jazz was their version of "millennial" garbage music at the time, look it up it's true.
Adam Neely covers this a lot in his videos, you should give them a look.
I adore Queen and Michael Jackson a lot, but the fact that music has "downgraded" from their time is not true. It's just not the kind of music you like and want. The claim that people put less effort into their music is not true either. The singers themselves might not put the most effort in some cases, but the music producers still put a lot of effort into their craft.
I love 70's and 80's music, jazz and well produced and lyrical rap music that shows effort.
