MJ was the best in his genre, and Freddie was the best in his. It’s not right to compare them because they are both equally amazing and we were so lucky they existed
I agree but unfortunately, videos like this will never cease to exist. It’s all part of human nature to compete over everything. When harnessed correctly, competitiveness keeps us hungry, motivated and creative. It can also feed idle minds, emotional immaturity, hate and insecurity. I think what we can do, is to be emotionally mature enough to recognise how brilliant and incomparable each male and female great is in their own way, and respect them for carving their own path even if we might not particularly like their personality, sexuality, or music.
I don't know how to explain it. You can tell from listening to them both, MJ has that very clear/concise tone of voice. Freddie is a more raw sounding voice. When I listen to MJ, I instantly start tapping my feet and wanting to dance. When I hear Freddie, I go silent and want to hear every crack and tone and pitch. For me, there is something about his voice that just hits the soul and heart and I want to listen intently to it. It brings out an emotion in me that very few artists ever had. Another Artist I can think of that gets me like Freddie was Chester Bennington (lead singer of Linkin Park). His voice had such raw emotion in it, you just wanted it to overflow and consume you (in a good way).
I love Freddie but for me Chester was too much better in his technique and range, Chester voice Is more versatile for me but yeah they give you the same vibe. Even Chester sang dirty diana and was shocked because his voice was similar to mj.
In with you there. Chester and Freddie though very different styles both stand out as being vocalists in a realm of their own. The diversity, power, control and raw emotion. I typically rank them and MJ as my top three most talented male vocalists.
Love of my life is raw sounding? He could sing raw if he wanted, or sweet and smooth, soft or loud. I do wonder why these particular songs were chosen as comparisons. Every word Freddie sings is clear, not muffled

He stays within his comfort zone and that works for his style singing. I feel Freddie's style is much less complex but it works.

I adore them both. But MJ's singing is the one that brought out the feels, probably because of all the sound effects contained in his voice. It's like you don't even miss the instrumentals.
Lol there was definitely analog editing, tape cutting, and it's hitting outboard gear before going to tape. Extremely talented people but you're inaccurate. Celine Dion's My Heart Will Go On uses autotune on the highest parts, autotune as a heavy effect "T Pain" is probably what you meant.
It's crazy how underrated Michael's vocal ability is. This man had a 4 octave vocal range, could sing from r&b to funk to rock and had almost perfect pitch. There are only a few people who could make you FEEL the music like he can.
It's always been one of my least favourite songs by MJ. After all these years I've just now realised it's because of the surrounding music, the actual singing is amazing. I feel like I've rediscovered a gem
@@offusyoufus4278 dude there is nothing as alpha or beta in singing lol. What are you even saying? Freddie had better technique but Michael Jackson sounded better than him. Freddie sounded more fuller though.
Prabin Gautam I was saying in terms of vocal sound, so you were supposed to comprehend as another way of Freddie sounding more “macho”. So to answer what you said as “beta or alpha” not being able to proficiently describe singing sound that’s completely false you can acurretly do that through analyzing whether if they sing higher as a falsetto or alto(as Michael did) or lower as a soprano(as Freddie was) and you can’t just say Michael sounds better, it’s all subjective so that’s not an argument
I love Michael's aggressive voice and passion you can feel it, especially on They don't care about us 5:25 I like Freddie's too, it's really powerful. It's a shame they didn't collaborate more often, they would've made some insane music together
Technically they both use caprino vibrato, but their styles are very different. I like Freddie very much, but Michael’s pitches are so accurate and flawless, he has perfect control of his voice, and his phrasing is phenomenal.

My two favourites. Freddie was the powerful Queen of rock. Michael was the king of pop. Michael used his falsetto voice a lot. Michael could do a soft voice to a powerful gritty rock sort of voice. Michael also had a deep velvety voice. Freddie had a rich smooth voice as well as an opera voice. Although Michael is my first love, I love both and I don’t think they can be compared as both different. I think they are both amazing in their own right. They duetted on There must be more to life together and it’s heavenly. Two angels. I also met Sir Dr Brian May (Queens guitarist)
Jesus H Medrano thats weird because i feel like mercury voice is actually stronger in terms of range. but i think michael beats mercury in songs despite both being equally powerful singers
NintendopePokemonFreak Ruben beats him in songe? U might want to elaborate on that but if u mean his songs are more popular or something like that yea withought a doubt but if u mean mj voice sounds better i wil have to disagree, queen songs are around freddie voice that the forefront, mj songs are around rythm and sound and then his voice most of the time u dont even know what his saying but wer to busy dancing to it. Two different genre but as far as voice i still believe freddi is best
NintendopePokemonFreak Ruben Thats a lil subjective though i mean i do like both as far as which i like both well dang thats tough but i will randomly listen to queen more than mj so i guess i would have to say queen is my fav. As far as who is the biggest success for sure mj
NintendopePokemonFreak Ruben many outlets consider either Bohemian Rhapsody or We are the Champions as the greatest song(s) ever. I grew up on Michael Jackson more than Queen, but you can’t say in terms of songs that MJ beats out Freddie. It’s subjective and if you really had to compare it probably would have to go to Queen overall with some of the most played songs ever especially considering we will rock you plays at like every sports venue every single day and Bohemian Rhapsody as probably the best written song ever.
Amen to that, we all should be thankful for that. We all should be thankful that we were able to live during this time period of life. I was lucky to have been born in the 40's, I saw rock and roll come into this world in the 50's and I am still here in 2018.

Freddie is great, He has some great songs, but Michael Jackson is 2nd 2 none! Mikes The greatest for so many reasons! #1 being his beautiful voice, and how he used it so perfectly. ❤As a recording artist myself, I can say He recorded every song perfectly, his adlibs are next level, he even beat box to the instrumentals, and snapped his fingers!❤ The layering of his vocals, and his poetic lyrics, with meaning & purpose, so beautiful! He gave his best every time, & his best was phenomenal!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤ Nobody will ever come close to The King! Rip MJ, and Freddie. 😢 🕊 🙏🏿 👑 ❤❤❤❤
@@mjstudios77 First, there is an error in your comment “nobody can’t beat king Michael”, I’m guessing you mean “nobody can beat king Michael”. Care to explain why you think MJ is a better singer than Freddie? I’ll explain why I think Freddie is better than MJ with examples of songs: Freddie Mercury had one of, if not the most, diverse voice ever. He could sing practically any genre: Arena Rock (We Will Rock You) Glam Rock (Killer Queen) Prog Rock(Liar) Rockabilly (Crazy Little Thing Called Love) Power Pop (Coming Soon) Techno Pop (Radio Ga Ga) Opera (Barcelona) Ballad (Save Me) Blues (My Melancholy Blues) Gospel (Somebody To Love) Funk (Another One Bites The Dust) Punk (Sheer Heart Attack) Heavy Metal (Death On Two Legs) Thrash Metal (Stone Cold Crazy) Jazz (Dreamer’s Ball) Disco (Back Chat) Folk (‘39) Latin (Who Needs You) Soul (Pain Is So Close To Pleasure) Waltz (The Millionaire Waltz) And along with that, there are some Queen songs that can’t even be classified as a genre like “Seaside Rendezvous” “The Prophet’s Song” “The Fairy Fellers Master-Stroke” along with many more. And the power in Freddie’s voice compared to MJ’s is just incomparable with songs like “The Show Must Go On” (recorded 18 months before he died so he was very weak) and “I Want It All” Then there’s the high notes which is a main talking point as to why MJ was better. The funny thing is, Freddie could sing higher than MJ in chest voice or falsetto with the sustained G5-A5 in “Under Pressure”, the E6 at the end of “It’s Late”, and the crazy highs in his various “Impromptu” performances (Wembley is the beat quality I could find with video) if you’re looking for live ones. So, let me hear your argument.
It's always been crazy to me how Michael can go from the softest cuddly voice to a growl machine like Smooth Criminal, Bad, Dirty Diana like it's ridiculously unreal
Freddie had a very powerful voice, a phenomenon. He put a lot of emotions in the songs, that's amazing, a spectacular singer. Legend !! But from the moment Michael starts singing "they don't care about us" he shows why he is the king of pop, and why he is the greatest musical artist of all time. The guy has been a phenomenon since he was a child, surreal !! When I listen to him sing there's no way to stay still, it's a feeling of joy.Michael Jackson had something very unique about him, extraordinary talent.👑 Freddie Mercury and Michael Jackson are legends of music history, maximum respect for both !! RIP Legends.
Freddie for me wins Freddie is almost proven to be the best singer the world has ever seen. He can actually move second vocal cords, something only 3 known people in the world can do (including Freddie) and at the live aid performance Queen blew the audience away so much that other bands and singers at the show were mad at them for stealing the spotlight RIP Freddy Mercury and Michael Jackson
If Freddie is here, he will probably say : "Oh, come on, darlings. Don't be ridiculous. There's no comparison. I am who I am." Still remember Freddie once said in an interview, about Michael, he said for people who just started their career or was 25 years old like Michael. He could teach them some tricks or something like that......But not Michael. For me they lived at two different timelines. Music genres and their sound traits are totally different. And most importantly they are not singing the same song. Everyone has their own taste. It's meaningless to compete two legends at the same time. They are already legends.
@@NemoYT22 No, you just misunderstood. He said for people who started their career young.....OR WAS 25 years old in this business (Michael was 25 years old while Freddie had that interview. To Freddie, Michael was young at that time cos he had already been 37 yrs old) He could give them some advices but not for Michael.
Fyi they did sing the same song. Three times. None of them were finished or released in their lifetimes but they were friends and they did collaborate with each other. Unfortunately both were too busy to ever fully commit to finishing their songs. Probably had something to do with the fact that they were both mega stars and perfectionists.
Well thank you for the amazing video I definitely liked and subscribed also hitting the notification bell 😊❤ oh yeah in my opinion Brad Delp the lead singer of Boston has one of the most hauntingly beautiful voices out there.
my opinion: Freddie can withstand a note longer at any volume vs Michael has a better vibrato at any volume. Equally they both sing with great emotions.
Not really though, Freddies vibrato is unmatched. I love MJ but this is just true. Opera singers have been impressed with his vocals. Freddie also has the ability to move his vocals up and down with mindblowing ease
@@LucyWest370 I just personally think that opera singers can sing like freddie, strong voice, so ive heard that same kind of voice from other people, but i aint ever heard no one sound like Michael
I honestly wholeheartedly listened to every increment and it’s comparing apples to oranges, they are the masters of their own genres, totally different styles, category, era, feel, and both made you feel connected in a way like no other artist could accomplish, that transcends time itself, from the moment it was conceptualized years ago, till now, either the very first time you listen to it or 100th. It resonates on the deeper most human level. Both were ultimate masters of their art.
Impossible to separate these two from a skill/quality/talent perspective. Freddie was a god at rock and ballads and Michael pretty much invented his own genre entirely!! "edit" thanks for the likes guys! Love it
Lidio Abraham Garcia Batiz The III that’s only your opinion, I prefer Freddie but I can’t choose a winner between these two because they both had exceptional voices that suited their own genres of music
@@moumitamanna9216 may be Michael could have had much more power than Freddie...I mean ,he had more technics ..than Freddie...Michael may be was more perfect as voice 's purity and power but he did not need using all his voice's power.. Freddie instead brought his voice to the extreme
I think Freddie's voice is much richer in tone - but MJ was a lot more technical in his delivery. MJ worked out what the public would like and delivered exactly what he planned. Freddie seems more about feel and had some imperfections that I think add to the result.

No autotunes no digital editing. JUST PURE TALENT from these two legends
It´s really
Lol there was definitely analog editing, tape cutting, and it's hitting outboard gear before going to tape. Extremely talented people but you're inaccurate. Celine Dion's My Heart Will Go On uses autotune on the highest parts, autotune as a heavy effect "T Pain" is probably what you meant.
And even T Pain is an incredible singer without it...
The vocals are mixed so yea they are edited

It's crazy how underrated Michael's vocal ability is. This man had a 4 octave vocal range, could sing from r&b to funk to rock and had almost perfect pitch. There are only a few people who could make you FEEL the music like he can.

I love Michael's aggressive voice and passion you can feel it, especially on They don't care about us 5:25

Care to explain why you think MJ is a better singer than Freddie? I’ll explain why I think Freddie is better than MJ with examples of songs:
Freddie Mercury had one of, if not the most, diverse voice ever. He could sing practically any genre:
Arena Rock (We Will Rock You)
Glam Rock (Killer Queen)
Prog Rock(Liar)
Rockabilly (Crazy Little Thing Called Love)
Power Pop (Coming Soon)
Techno Pop (Radio Ga Ga)
Opera (Barcelona)
Ballad (Save Me)
Blues (My Melancholy Blues)
Gospel (Somebody To Love)
Funk (Another One Bites The Dust)
Punk (Sheer Heart Attack)
Heavy Metal (Death On Two Legs)
Thrash Metal (Stone Cold Crazy)
Jazz (Dreamer’s Ball)
Disco (Back Chat)
Folk (‘39)
Latin (Who Needs You)
Soul (Pain Is So Close To Pleasure)
Waltz (The Millionaire Waltz)
And along with that, there are some Queen songs that can’t even be classified as a genre like “Seaside Rendezvous” “The Prophet’s Song” “The Fairy Fellers Master-Stroke” along with many more.
And the power in Freddie’s voice compared to MJ’s is just incomparable with songs like “The Show Must Go On” (recorded 18 months before he died so he was very weak) and “I Want It All”
Then there’s the high notes which is a main talking point as to why MJ was better.
