This was a great tutorial. But I’m concerned because the valve didn’t come with any thread sealant. It looks like yours didn’t come with any either.
Should I use Teflon tape or pipe dope?

sure with you would have answered the obvious question: Is that $20 valve as good or close to the $90 Graco part?

Hello! My 495 just won’t stop priming. I can hear it change when I move from spray to prime or other way around.. but it will never catch. Is that a prime valve issue or do I need a rebuild kit? Thanks!

My new valve came the same way. The brass portion wasn’t screwed down all the way. And my new valve bypasses a bit unless you fiddle with the thumb switch.
I can get it to stop bypassing and leaking but it shouldn’t be that way. That’s why I was wondering if that brass portion needed to be screwed down only a certain amount.

My new prime spray valve didn’t come with any thread sealant, what should I use in place of what comes normally in a new graco prime spray valve kit?

Hey quick question.. do you need to adjust the brass part of the valve by tightening or loosening it? My new valve came with it only halfway screwed down.
    Thank you 🙏
