Approximately how tight should the piston valve be? I snugged it and gave it another half turn and it eventually came loose even with thread lock. Another time I tightened it pretty tight but it ripped my packings after a few uses? Help? Thanks!
You have to be careful, its a fine balance. I tighten just enough that the packing are not swelling out, and always use thread lock. And when you put the rod in the cylinder make sure you use LOTS of grease, it will help prevent the packings from getting sheared.
