It is understandable that there are people who have never been to Korea, but there is no one who has only been to Korea once. Korea is a country that is beautiful and full of many charms.
City wall walk journey and last gate couldn't be crossed is such a symbolism in life yes the journey and not destination but also, it leaves longing/ hope/ disappointments - all such is life. It also leaves opportunity for you to do it second time. Seoul want to see you again.
I think this is what makes Seoul so special. I do love the extensive view of big cities like New York or Tokyo, but not many big cities have both mountains AND a huge river. All right in the city. Where else can you casually go climbing by subway?
Thank you for sharing such a great video of the city wall trail. Our family is will be visiting seoul next month and your korea videos are so helpful and fun to watch! Keep them coming
I'm so happy and overwhelmed by your amazing video. I feel closer to guys walking and experiencing my favorite Hanyang Fortress. 😍😍😍You two are something!
❤I stumbled on your video! I grew up in Seoul 1968-1974. I’ve never been back… I’m planning my trip for this November for six weeks on a farm in Jeju do. This looks like a goal for 2024. I think it will be the reason I return to Seoul when I’m 63!🎉 I had to add that next your will be 50 years since I left… now I’m really excited to return and walk the wall❤
I just love how you guys are so full of curiosity, love/zest for Life, just like kids- full of fun, and the quest for Life, Thank you for making me feel like a kid again!
Love this longer video. The gift you have given so many of us is incredible. I feel like I know South Korea, and so many other places, that I will never see. Just can’t say it enough, thank you!!!
Wow! As much as I loved your Camino series, this one vid was just as fab! What a wonderful overview of the city! I loved the food market shots interspersed with the nature shots. Equally beguiling! Fantastic video, guys! Onward and upward! 🙂
Yes! What a great way to see Seoul and get perspective on how it is (and was) laid out. On our channel we'll be spotlighting Changuimun Gate and nearby Mt. Inwangsan in an upcoming video - we truly loved our time there!
Wow, you guys are amazing! I was born and raised in Seoul, but I never tried to walk like you did. I will try trail walking before winter comes. Thanks for the giving me motivation. Good trip!
At this time of might for me, I tend to watch youtube on my tv. But your vlog popped up and I have to say. This was the most enjoyable hike I have ever taken....through you. This was so incredibly beautiful. You may not have but got through the last gate....but you did. I can see there is so much more to watch....so yeah...new subscriber :)
Protect for 300 years? No, for 600 years ! There are 2 more great walls protecting Seoul, which are Bukhansan-seong (North) and Namhansan-seong (South side mountain wall). Namhan-sanseong is worth to visit as that is one of UNESCO World Heritage. It takes one hour by car from downtown.
That was absolutely awesome. It was very moving to see you guys appreciate the whole journey and reflect on everything. Thank you for taking us with you!
Congratulations 🌹! That was an awesome quest and beautiful sceneries. Thank you so much for taking us with you. If I was young agsin definitely would do it too. Love you guys and your vlogg👍😘😘😘
Great adventure video guys! Hey that "bad ending unlocked" experience is a great experience in itself! How many times you got kicked out by security trying to get through a giant gate? 😁👍
we couldn't agree more!! haha we laughed so hard at the end of it all, actually, and it was the literal reminder we needed to enjoy the whole experience, not just the destination! :)
Thank you for sharing this walk with us! It was incredible! I loved that you took your time and I also loved that you kept this video long as well. It felt as if I walked the trail with you. Just incredible. Again, thank you for your insights and posting such high quality content.
what a tour, what a journey, you guys have made it that even Koreans also can not even try even tho they always have wanted to do. such an impressive one. hope you settle down in Korea and film mores😉
Thank you. I enjoyed the video you posted and yes it made me feel all emotional too. I think I am going to leave the kids to do it as it looked to arduous for me. Omg. So much walking and so many elevation. Yikes. You guys are so fit. Gwanjang market looks the same the food looks the same. I remember that shoe alley at Dongdaemun market there were so many shops. There were close to 100 shops. We know the toy alley super- well but you guys wouldn't have needed to go there. Can't wait to see it again in a couple of weeks. I miss that city but don't even have time to go to near any wall this trip. Thanks again for posting it.
ive seen alot of Squarespace adds and that was by far the best. I'm normally tempted to skip past but it was convincing and engaging!! only discovered your channel a few weeks ago and you are now by far my favourite!!

It is amazing you guys got the exact courses all the way down there. I know it's not always easy to track the course especially when the "wall" disappeared.
the app was super helpful :) and the markings on the ground! but yes, when the city wall disappears, it's almost like we immediately don't know what to do
Thanks for the recommendation! Just did it on Dec 3 and it did not disappoint! So many amazing viewpoints! 40,000 steps later, my legs are shaking and I'll go treat myself to a nice meal!
Thank you so much for this amazing video, I just arrived to Seoul and I’m was looking for an activity to do and you guys have inspired me to do the city wall trail.
"On that great disappointment..." 😂 The emotional chicken dinner at the end looked delicious! The Jim Carrey lockers cracked us up. Sorry you didn't get closure on your great quest!
Congratulations on completing the whole city wall. Very few Koreans dare to do that. The strict rule for closing the Namdaemoon Gate after the business hours is bc an idiot has burnt the original gate in 2008 out of petty fury. The Gate is the national treasure #1 of Korea.
Love these longer videos! BTW that school food place you guys went to is called a Bunshik restaurant and is basically Korea's first "fast food" where people can get a cheap meal quickly. The school food name probably refers to the fact that you find these often near schools and universities for students. The government actually promoted these after the war to push more non rice-based foods since rice became pretty scarce.
I am Korean but leaving at NZ now. I am going to visit Korean in November and I will follow your step to travel Korea. Thanks guys for giving a great idea :)
I watch a lot of youtube video from those that live in Korea and those who are visitors and I have not seen anyone who has completed the entire walk. In my mind you both reached the finish line and I am impressed and proud of you two. 👏✊I have heard a lot of young people say they were exhausted doing just a part of it to see elderly Korean hikers whip past them. Lol. In the spring there is a challenge to walk it with a passport. You can get a stamp at certain junctions and the goal is to fill the passport.
I'm jealous of the super wide sidewalks. Here in Chicago the sidewalks are so narrow and it's worse since we don't have too many bike lanes so a lot of bikers bike on the narrow sidewalks
you guys are amazing.. you are having the life that I always want to have. I envy you, I appreciate you. I encourage you . I pray for your future joureay and I honestly say you guys are winners. thank you for hard work.
