I love how korea makes their trails more easily accessible to people by adding stairs, rails, paths, etc and takes care of them! It’s such a beautiful country and they really do a lot to showcase it.🥺
Cari, I feel so privileged to have been taken along on this hike with you! Seoul’s history is so incredibly long and rich. Being from such a young country (The US), I really appreciate how proud the South Korean people must feel about their country’s long and storied heritage. I hope that nation continues to prosper, and grow. Your videos show how much you love South Korea, and I always look forward to them. Blessings, Cari!
For people who love to hike: You can climb [Baegak(Buk-ak) mountain - Inwang mountain - Mu-ak mountain] all three at once! They surround northwestern part of Seoul and the view is amazing! Mu-ak is the easiest and Baegak is the hardest to climb but all three are beginner level I would say. Individual mountain takes about 1~1.5 hrs to go up and down.
Seriously, if any one could win awards for the way they style their vlogs and show us around Korea...I always find myself waiting for the next one. (I know which day it is, just always look to see if its posted yet.)
this little history tour was so interesting! i love places like this, where you can trace the history literally brick by brick. just thinking about how many hands and feet have touched those walls up to now makes my mind boggle!
i'm always so fascinated by south korea's culture and history. this mountain trip is indeed something i'd really like to experience for myself one day. this was a beautiful video! thank you for such a detailed yet interesting delivery of the history :) here's to more in the future, cari! p.s. why do i feel like namjoon watched this lol
I love all your vlogs, but there is something so magical about history, beautiful scenery & gorgeous weather ( albeit cold) that makes my heart smile. Thank you.😊
This was charming, beautiful, dignified and hypnotic. It stunned me so much that - and I won't lie - I cried. Especially near the end. I feel lucky, and I feel privileged, to have watched this. So thank you Cari.
That was such a lovely and calming video! Those pine trees even tho they atacc they are soo beautiful! It must be so nice to live in such a big city but still have the opportunity to go out in nature, hike and enjoy the mountains!
I wish I still taught world history so I could have my students take your guided tour. Might have them do it anyway! What a beautiful, historically rich area! Happy Thanksgiving, Cari!
when i am missin seoul. i used to go back to your channels and then saw your point of view with this city that i hold dearly to my heart. thank you for this video. last month i am hiking achasan. so then next time i would be put this one as my next list hiking. love you cari 💜
Such a great vlog! I’m glad you talked so much about the history behind the wall. I’ve followed you since my undergrad and now I’m a PhD candidate. Your vlogs have brought me so much relaxation and peace when I felt stressed or frustrated. Keep up the great work Cari! Best wishes ^^
Love this video ~ you sounded like a real tour guide and it felt like I am on a hike with you on this mountain. it was so much fun and very interesting I'll definitely check out the tour website, maybe try that trail in January. ☺️
That was wonderful! The autumn foliage, the views!! Loved this little historical walk/hike, always love learning more about city's history, so thank you for taking us on it!
History was one of my favorite lessons in school, and your hiking vlog outed all of those lessons! 🥰😂 I love the map illustration you used and the music was so dreamy and well-suited to Baegaksan’s beauty. Can’t wait to go there and listen to your guide! ⛰💚
So for me you just posted this however I live in Oregon in the United States I just love the way that you're so interested in every single topic that you talk about you're so passionate about it thank you so so much you are a joy I love seeing your videos pop up
I loved this video so much! You are such a great history communicator and also so good at capturing the natural beauty of the place, love love love ❤️❤️❤️
This was such a great video. I walked a bit of the city wall near Dongdaemun a few years back but I had no idea of the history, uniqueness, and extent of it. I hope Seoul gets another UNESCO site in a few years. Thanks for sharing.
About to watch so I can relax after a long day 😌 I love this hiking and adventure vlogs Cari!! Hiking in Korea has become one of my top things to do in life, it just looks so magical and I'd love to see it in person one day. Thank you for bringing us with you, and big congrats on this kind of projects, you truly have a talent to talk people through views and history ❤️. Hope you're having a lovely day Cari! Much love from the southern hemisphere 🥰💕💮
Your channel was made for seriously nosy Parkers like me. I have repeatedly stopped this video to make notes. And can I just say that I'm impressed to-the-max by the effort and hard work you put into both the walk and this video.
Okay Cari you got to stop making me jealous now 😅 I am literally in Seoul studying and I’ve been hiking but I broke my foot two weeks ago and every time my friends go hiking they it’s so beautiful and I get jealous! And now you’re hiking too, oh my poor heart 🥹😳 Atleast I get to see it on video😂
What a beautiful setting for a hike, I can’t believe how beautiful the colours are and those views are phenomenal! ❤ I also love the history, I didn‘t know anything about Koreas history before. Thank you for showing us all this. And I‘m very proud of you for conquering the endless stairs 😅 💪🏼Once again, I wish I could beam myself to Seoul to spend a day like that.
Thank you very much for another intresting video of yours. It is mindblowing that our wolrd has every their own unique history. I hope you will have a great week. You are really working hard to create so much content for us as viewers.
Man nothing like being sick in bed with the flu and strep throat, having such fabulous videos such as yours as the perfect distraction ❤ I just loved all the history facts and how the palaces and architecture looks over there along with the beautiful fall trees and Mountain View’s 😊
thank you for this video! so informative. i went last Friday at a whim after watching one of your previous videos on it and thoroughly enjoyed the hike up. glad this video came after my hike cause i may not have gone after seeing the steps in this video. 😂 but there were plenty of elderly people climbing up the mountain so it’s very doable and it’s definitely a must go. hopefully i can do this again with some friends when i visit Seoul again. i was a bit concerned about taking video and photos with all the signage saying you can’t take any of the military buildings. but it seems like you can? i did still take a lot of photos though. 😅 and thanks for clearing up Baegaksan vs Bugaksan. i clearly remembered it as Beagak, but when i looked at Naver maps it was Bugak. 😅
yeah they were STEEP! haha and i think (hope) those signs meant that you couldnt zoom in close on any military parts - but they're also slowly getting rid of the military section so we should be free to take photos without fear of imprisonment soon ahahhha
Perfect timing! I’m actually planning to do a variety of hikes in that area but couldn’t decide which one. Love your snippets of history and I can’t wait to hike up there!💖🙆🏻♀️
Wonderful video! I was winded just watching you lol. You need to do more like this. Maybe a tour of old town, with a mix of photos of 'how it used to be' and how it looks today, that sort of thing. Since you have a 7th degree black belt in pastries and places to eat, maybe a video of the history of Korean cuisine? Just some ideas. I really liked this one!
What a beautiful video. You creative an informative video I want to share with my foreign friends. Never been there yet, but def will visit soon. It looks SO nice.
Thank you for such a lovely and informative video! It's so nice to get to know a little bit about the history behind those places and I highly appreciate the effort you put into this
Loved the beautiful hike on such a gorgeous day! Somehow I'm tired. ha! Enjoyed the history lesson. Very interesting. Good job, Cari! You could easily be a tour guide or docent. Happy Holidays!
After watching your video in prep for our trip just did this walk with my Son yesterday. Thanks so much! Such a great source of tips and makes it feel really easy to get out and do!!! Super thanks!!!

Oooh this looks so cool. Love the history and feel like you were walking through it on your hike! I'm heading to Seoul in December and wonder of it would be too cold (snowing?) to hike it?
I know you're living in Korea but happy Thanksgiving anyway. Enjoy. . . 😁 Thanks for the great history lesson, I love that stuff. Also followed you on Google Maps. 😜
Beautiful vlog Cari! LOVED the hike and all the historical info you gave and when I come to Seoul I'm definitely doing this hike!
