The nursery is so lovely and the bird theme is peaceful! I am so happy for you!
As a great Gram who has helped with the littles on my family, please consider a diaper changing area that would include space for diapers, wipes,& ointment. It would be a great convenience if there were also receptacles for used diapers and for dirty/ used clothing…newborns require frequent clothing and bedding changes. Your upholstered rocker looks so inviting, but on those long nights when baby needs much holding & rocking, a chair with a tall back provides a place for the caregiver to rest their head & snooze a bit. Babies spit up a lot in the beginning and a washable slipcover will help keep the upholstery looking good.
Enjoy these next few month and years…they fly by swiftly!😘

A changing table is so easy to turn into a dresser! Even can be toy/book storage, excellent for off season clothing storage. A place for cherished items! He could be a collector of weird stuff that as a parent, you might not want to see, like my daughter became a sock collector😂! She couldn't pass up odd/unusual or holiday socks. I love your comment that giving the baby fewer toys will stimulate his imagination/creativity. I agree completely. I believe it also trains children to be self-starters and to come up with solutions rather than to wait for an answer to be fed to them. Congratulations. Your child is, indeed, a lucky boy.

I agree. So many children today need constant entertainment. They have too many toys, too much screen time and not enough time by themselves to entertain themselves. The old playpen has gone by the wayside. You could put your infant/toddler in it and know they were safe and could entertain themselves for short periods of time.

My high school art teacher told us that his children had never had coloring books! He also didn't have a TV😢! As kids of the 70's we thought that was cruel & told him so😂! He said that it stifled creativity! As an adult, he was right, kinda. But kids need to fit in with their peers, or they will rebel, there has to be a balance❤!

Hi guys, what a beautiful nursery. I had two boys, so lots of toys between birthdays & Christmas. What I used to do every few months was sort thru & donate those they've outgrown. The rest I divided into, one pile for the toy box & one box for the top of the closet. After a few months, if they became bored, I switched the toy box & closet box & it was like Christmas, as they had forgotten some of them. Hope this gives you an idea. Bless your little boy. ❤

I think I had the same ambition as a first time mum on the toy front! Reality is family and friends love to give. By the time you have parties the plastic fantastic arrives and we'll be watching you convert a room into a playroom to contain all his stuff 😂. It's such a gorgeous space and your excitement is just infectious. As others have said, save your back and do a nappy changing station with everything within reach. Have a toy handy to distract and play whilst changing. Exciting times for you both!

You have created a cozy warm space for your son. It is beautiful. I totally agree with you on the amount of toys. If there are too many toys to choose from children can get hyperactive. Their eyes go in too many places. The babies room is soothing because of the soft colors and minimal decor.

I look forward to seeing how long the toy quota rule lasts. Spectacularly beautiful and uncluttered nursery! Well done ❤. I agree with others. A changing “table” is a necessity. We bought a dresser and put a portable changing station on top of it. When our son got older, it reverted back to a dresser. Something that would match the chest you already have would be great.

He’s 19 mths old now, and I haven’t missed a night where I haven’t checked in on him and checked his breathing and blew him a kiss goodnight. I did not think I would be interested in the nursery renovation - my maternal instincts, such as they are, have all gone to horses. But it is really lovely, and I actually felt happy for you, two complete strangers. Possibly because I have been watching your videos compulsively for a few days now. Cutest/sweetest baby on the planet, by the way. I am totally confused at this point in terms of where we are with regard to the bigger property. I adore the gardens. (Also a hobby of mine). I had family in England; they owned a small estate with tenant farmers etc. It has gone the way of all things after WW2. But, I believe that hollyhocks are British flowers? I didn't notice any on your grounds. That section behind the greenhouse might entertain a few? I have had no success with them here in the States, and I love them. One last: I live in a Victorian era mansion along the Hudson. One Christmas, I decided that it would be a marvel to hang glittery snowflakes beneath the portico at the entrance. I decided that my beau, who is 6 feet tall, could manage that project (I would supply the snowflakes - using fishing line to hang them). He brought up a tall ladder to see if this was possible and said no. I argued: "but you are 6 feet and the ladder is 12 feet (I don't actually remember) that gives 18 feet - and then you can reach up." His reply: "Yes, if I stood on the tip top rung of the ladder. They don't even ask workers in 3rd world countries to manage that one." Oh well. . . . Most of my projects are of the Disney world variety. I am enjoying yours.

      Hahahaha brilliant!
We actually had hollyhocks planted from seed in the main house gardens huts they did so well that they took over for few years and it was only hollyhocks! So this year I stripped them to plant dahlias.
We are going back to the main estate later on this year ☺️

I never got toys for my grandchildren. They had top menu. I opted on opening a saving account for each of them and placerd an amount each month, on their birthdays christmas and for achievments. The accounts were blocked till they were 18. They still use it as savings account and have another one for living. You could ask family and frends to contribute to the saving account. Believe me your child will be thankful. My grand children are.😅 I adore the nursery.

Hi guys. I'm brand new to you and enjoying your videos so I've subscribed. Regarding the baby and colors issue, it is a very interesting subject. I would definitely recommend you reading an article about this. Just quick, babies see black, white and gray only until around 4 months. Then, they begin to see the rest. Each color represents different emotions. It is really interesting. Since you guys are not the "pop them out, feed, dress and just put them to sleep" kind of parents, meaning that you are going to put thoughts into your decisions, I'd thought you would be interested in knowing more. Enjoy and I'm so happy for the three of you.
