P.s please get rescue chickens, Jude. They've had such a horrible life and go from bald little scraps to lush feathered beauties. Your land would be heaven to them ❤.
Oh I’m definitely going to get rescue chickens!! There’s a charity about half an hour away from me that rehomes them! I just need to build a place for them to live!
Pound you through knitting and glad to find you in beautiful Scotland. Not sure if you mentioned exactly in Scotland but I’m loving the scenery of Scotland. Perhaps when you have time to walk or go to the village towns you can video some of Scotland amazing scenery sprinkled in along with you new home. Looking forward to seeing more of your videos
OMG--I'm doing something very similar! I'm turning 60 this year and just bought an 1832 schoolhouse in the Scottish highlands (also in the middle fo nowhere!). Lots of work to do, but it is most certainly a dream come true. Welcome to the "What have I taken on club?!"😄
Oh is this the one near to Fort William? I got the details, it was beautiful but thought I would never afford to repair it - I'm 65. Still looking for something similar though. Please consider doing a RUclips it would be fab to watch you bring it back to life.
My 14 y. o. daughter says, you're talking like a sun 🌞 we wish you good luck with your lovely cottage and looking forward for more videos. Greetings from Germany
Hi Jude! I'm thankful your videos found me! Your bright and honest spirit shines throughout each video! I am almost 62, lost my 88 year old mom to cancer 3 months ago, and have been rather down. Your philosophy of making a change if you are struggling speaks to me. It is time for me to plan, execute, and move on! Thank you from my heart to yours!
I can see why you were sold before you got out of the car. Your new home is absolutely enchanting. I wish you many blessings and congratulations on your next journey.
Omggg I feel like this is my DREAM RUclips channel content! Gardening/homesteading and DIY of a gorgeous home that has so much potential. So glad you started vlogging the journey and can’t WAIT to follow along! 😍
Consider me sitting and watching every video! It's so nice to see someone from the queer community in this space on RUclips. Your home is gorgeous, Jude!
Well hello neighbour! I live in Royal Deeside which is a part of Aberdeenshire from Banchory to Braemar and have lived here for 22 years. It really is a beautiful part of the world and you are going to love it. The winters can be really harsh so get your freezer stocked up with milk and food. Make sure you have an alternative heating source to oil (I think you might have a wood burner because of all the wood in your store) just in case of power cuts and temps can get as low as minus 15. If there is heavy snow the oil tankers can't deliver. A portable gas stove and camping gas lights could well come in handy. I hope you love it as much as I do and good luck, I will be following you on your journey ❤
Ahh all of this advice is greatly appreciated, thank you!! I think I’m probably just outside of what’s classed as Royal Deeside - and it’s a beautiful part of the world! I have an open fire at the moment - which has a back boiler, so will heat the water in the winter! A wood burning stove is on my list of things to get when I come to renovating the cottage! (This reminds me, I must dip my oil tank!)
@@rewildingjude You can get a gadget that fits on the tank and you get a plug with a little antenna on it for indoors and it will read how much oil you have in the tank, pretty handy in the winter!
Yes, being prepared for power outages in freezing temperatures takes a lot of stress off of you. Even if you can't keep your home as warm as you like, if you can manage to keep things from freezing, and you have warm clothing and bedding, you can get through just fine. In one of your videos you mentioned a curtain over the door to help keep the heat in, so I think you have the right mind set to make it work really well! I look forward to seeing your garden, and your chickens, and your compost system, on your lovely little plot of land! Also, I realise that this is too late as far as advice goes, but when sleeping on an air mattress, you need at least as much insulation under you as you have above. A warm sleeping bag is a good start, but don't stop with just that. The last time I slept on an air mattress, it was in a tent, for New Years. The owner of the tent had a thick wool rug that she put down on the floor of the tent, I had a sleeping bag that is rated for about -5 to 5 degrees C, I had layers on, and was very comfortable.
How exciting to have a blank slate of a property to develop! As a Permaculture Designer, my advice would be to spend the time before you start planting in the spring to observe the land. Create a site map that includes all the influences on the property such as which way the wind blows, after rain where does the water pool? (as so much of your land is slopped this is good to know). Also, what kinds of wildlife pressures do you have? Deer? Rabbits, etc. How the sun moves across the land... etc, you get the idea! This information will be invaluable as you start to make design decisions. I am excited to see what you do and wish you all the luck in the world.
Oh wow!! You have an amazing job! Permaculture FASCINATES me so I’m definitely going to be taking as much of it as I can into consideration. I’m having to fight the urge to rush into it headlong just to get started though, because at heart, I’m a massive child! Haha
Well done! Having lived in rural Scotland for 30 years, when there is a power cut they are nearly always in Winter. You won’t need to worry about the freezer because it is situated in a COLD building and as long as you don’t open it during the cut it will be fine. You’re unlikely to need a generator if you have a heat source and oil lamps. You do need to make sure that you get your oil delivered early for Winter- one, it’s cheaper and two, you don’t want to be in a queue. Oil is expensive! Having the boiler serviced and the chimney swept is a must. I know that you’re excited but you really need to concentrate on getting the house ready for Winter, rather than gardening projects. Winter starts early in Scotland and will last for six months. I personally wouldn’t remove ANY of the outbuildings until you’ve lived there for a while- you can’t have too many sheds. Building a chicken coop seems like a waste of money when you have sheds that are easily converted. The plans in your head will probably change as you get to know the house and plot. You need to see what plants come up in Spring too. You’re going to have a busy few years! Ask your neighbours or local shop who is the cheapest for oil and what company most people use, there’s also a couple of websites to check daily oil prices.
Thank you so much for your advice! I was in Fife before moving here so Scottish winters aren’t completely new - but I’m expecting darker and colder ones being even further North! I’m waiting to hear back from the chimney sweep - and must dip my oil tank this week! I’m going to ask my neighbour where they get their oil from - and I must get a couple of oil lamps! My to do list is huge right now!
@@rewildingjude Well, if you can live in Fife you’ll manage anywhere! I just recently moved from rural Kinross/Fossoway up to Angus, I actually think it’s less rainy! Also, if you managed the Fife accent, you should ken the Aberdeenshire one easily enough. What good weather we’re having eh? Mind, it’ll probably be snowing by Tuesday…😊
I love the place.heres a few pointers I have learned, hope they help u.save your ashes from wood burning, chickens love to take an ash bath to get rid of mites and it sooths their skin.plant garlic bulbs, you cant go wrong with garlic,it comes back every year if you leave some bulbs.garlic water is good but for chickens.and, start a leaf/compost pile,it will come in handy for flowers and trees
So good to see your joyous face again! What a brave and adventurous person you've become. From your parent's home, to your home with Not My Cat, to becoming a rural homesteader. We are all with you as you replenish your heart and spirit. Thank you for letting us, once again, tag along. LOVE the open space, love the charming cottage exterior.
So exciting! So many sheds! A suggestion from someone who lives rurally where our electricity is sometime out for several days, get a small generator so you can keep that freezer cold so you don’t lose all your hard earned food. Can’t wait to hear more.
Yes!! I’m going to research generators this week! I want to get some solar set up on the workshop roof to run the freezer - but I probably won’t get to that before winter this year!
I love your DIY and offgrid focus. Can.... not.... wait... until you start adopting all the animals - starting with a dog ;-) I am in awe of the courage it has taken for you to make such a life-changing decision - and actually follow through. Thanks for sharing you and your world with us.
Thank you!! I’m so excited. A dog is next on my list!! I’ve a trip planned in a few weeks for a friend’s wedding, but after that it’s dog o’clock!! (And then chickens, and a cat… and maybe some bees…)
Never remove an out building if you can help it. The byer barn probably kept animals? Sheds for dry wood, a workshop, sewing room, outdoor summer kitchen, spray painting, imagine anything, guest cottage to rent even. I'm so jealous and fantasizing with you. Love the stone work , the poppies and roses, and everything. What a gem. I would keep growing beds close to the patio and kitchen door for pleasure and convenience. Are deer a concern? They are the bain of my existence. Blessings on you, your home and your endeavors. This will be a wonderful time to look back on. Look up Foxfire book series for old timey homesteading advice. Best of Luck
Don't throw away dishwasher use the draws for holding pots cut the door off and use for nest box for chickens use one of the shed for chickens night house So glad to see you back
What a beautiful soul you are. Really looking forward to your journey. Glad I’ve come across you. How lovely to see a genuine, happy, smiley dude to take away the trials and tribulations of this cruel world we are in. Bless you sweetie x
Jude I’m so excited for you. When I was in my early 30s with one husband and 4 small kids, our gas oven sprung a leak, we couldn’t afford a new one. We decided to buy a plug in toaster oven, in those days it was quite small. We used that little oven for many years, I cooked roasts, casserole, cakes, biscuits ect. It was easy to clean too. Now I’m 70, have a top quality oven ect, but to this day I ‘m still thankful for that dear little toaster oven that served a family of six so well. I tell you this as I watch your following vlog first. Best wishes from Australia
Looks lovely! My recommendation is to make the hen house as fox-proof as possible as they will dig under fencing and climb over the top to get to your feathered friends.
Loooove your property! My mother used to say that if advice was good people would sell it not give it. But here it goes, some suggestions from someone who started several gardens from scratch without chemicals: test your soil to see the pH. And leave a little sunny area for a meadow! Enjoy the journey lieber Jude!
That’s such a good saying!! I’ve been reading about soil testing! I might give it a try! I’m going to be building a lot of raised beds so I’ll be able to amend it where necessary!
I'm happy for you, it sounds like you have gone through a lot the past couple of years. Warm hug to you and may your new home bring you joy in the next chapter in your life. ❤🍀🌻
I’ve come across your channel while browsing on RUclips. I too lost both my parents in 2022. It certainly makes you look at life differently. Good luck on your journey. Your property is beautiful and your future projects will help you heal ❤
I think you hit the jackpot - what a great property! And nothing is as useful as multiple outbuildings! My recommendation: plant fruit trees sooner rather than later, they take time to mature. You've got space for an "official" orchard!
yes, and find out which direction most of the prevailing winds are: they can be absurdly vicious here in Scotland and many times the fruit trees won't do well in the Highland windy winters. And where he seems to be located, he will need tall deer fences to protect the trees.
Jude, what an adventure/new life! So exciting! Congratulations! If you haven't already watched him, you might enjoy watching Daniel on his channel Mossy Bottom. He is now homesteading in Finland after a recent move, but all of his original videos are of him creating a small, self sufficient, holding and working on restoring an old stone cottage in Ireland. He has some great ideas and info.
How lovely to find your videos here. I am in my 60’s and wish I had moved to somewhere just like your home years ago. I am a retired interiors and garden designer and would love to get my hands on a place like yours although I sadly don’t have youth in my side. I am very excited to follow your journey. The property is fantastic. Sending you love and all the best while you get yourself settled. Enjoy every moment 💕
You are not methuselah in your 60's. You are certainly young enough to take on a project and have fun. Don't let a number define you. Forget the number. Be you.
@@suewilkinson910 Age isn’t my problem. Unfortunately I have had MS for the past 15 years and am now disabled. I would love to renovate again but sadly I am not up to it any more.
Jude you really are a ray of sunshine, I am delighted to come across your channel and wish you an exciting journey on this amazing home, I have watched your videos all be it your most recent first now im on this one. My biggest advice to you is to have the asbestos checked, i did see the bedroom ceiling and I am concerned about that the most, as outside asbestos can wait. It is also an expensive thing to remove so just the heads up. I keep my fingers crossed its just horrid ceiling plaster, also you did comment about the back boiler and open fire that if the power went out you at least had that, do check this out as well, as my old house had this but when power was out we had to keep the fire low, as the boiler will get to hot and you need electricity to run it through the taps and so on. Jeez I sound like a negative annie but It is all good advice. Looking forward to seeing you as you build a new and exciting life and sending you much love and a big hug. Dede xxxxxx
You came across my feed a few days ago, & I thought - I know him (I quit knitting years ago.) I love what you're doing here & have been watching all your new videos, although not in order. I'm amazed at what all you can do. It's the attitude - you have a good one. I'm so sorry that you lost your parents especially one just after the other and I remember the elf fondly. Good luck in building a good life for yourself. I'm sure you'll succeed.
So thrilled for you Jude. Having followed you for a while and seen your huge courage in what the last two years has thrown at you I am in awe of your continuing to take the deep breath and move towards realising your dream. It may not be a log cabin that you used to talk about but pretty damn close. Looking forward to following your new adventures.
I love the barn. Glorious space. You are so lucky to have all those out buildings. Your property was great value, given all the land plus usable sheds. The house will be a palace, by the time you have renovated. That said, the house I owned in Melbourne was a renovator's dream and I never had the funds to do the major renovations it needed, before I moved to the country. i did replace several windows, refurbish the back entrance and laundry, as well as a bathroom reno. I had to restump the entire pkace as soon as I could after noving in. The most noticeable improvement was sanding back the veranda to reveal glorious mirbau timber, which I just oiled. I also built a shed and carport and designed and planted out my garden. All that took me 16 years. I am so envious of the greenhouse. That potting shed is so cool too. All so exciting. Funny how we all start on compost bays! I would work with your neighbours to restore the hedges as great habitat for the local birds and other wildlife. They will eat your garden pests, so are such an asset to encourage.
Jude, your new home is totally amazing. You will soon get it the way you want it, in no way have you made a mistake in going with your gut feelings on the property. I wish you a lifetime of happiness in your wee piece of paradise xx
I love goats and have 4 of them, all males and all rescues. Yes they need good fencing and no i don't have them for any other reason other than enjoyment. However they make excellent compost pellets 😁 and it doesn't smell. If you don't think goats are suitable maybe a couple of sheep. I have sheep, again all rescues, and have just started to teach myself to spin. You're into fibre craft sheep would be perfect. They are the most gentle, loving creatures and your little encolsed area would be perfect for a couple. Hugs 🤗
Thanks for the tour Jude, it’s an amazing property, I will happily follow your progress. I can’t get down to dig in the dirt anymore so gardening vicariously is quite interesting👍🏼 🙋🏼♀️
For your second video it's really good. Your very lucky to of found such a beauty. I don't think you made a mistake. Life is short and goes by so fast. Do what makes you happy and keeps you motivated.
The homesteading/queer combo is something I've been searching for for ages! Hard find in the sea of cis American/mormon/prepper homesteading channels 😅Looking forward to your content!
Too funny! I’m a PK who got my fill of organized religion early on and having these channels shove the Bible etc. down my throat when I’m just looking for nice homey content is jarring to say the least. I expect that won’t happen here
Jude, you came up in my RUclips recommendations, and I feel very excited about what you are doing - and as a lover of Scotland, I am very envious! A lot of hard work ahead of you, but I think you have the right mentality to enjoy the planning and the doing, and you obviously have lots of support on here and on Instagram. I'm happy to say I'm going to be following you all the way.
Hi Jude! Thank you for the tour. That land is something I would have loved having (especially in beautiful Scotland) in my earlier days. At 72 now, I get to watch and enjoy following other's journeys. You look so happy, can't wait to see you with a dog and some chickens.
Lots of room for quite a few fruit trees although I see you have an Apple tree or two already. You could have the chickens running free in an orchard as they will fertilize the ground quite nicely.
Oh no, that's the dexter room. 🥰 When you said you're a compost nerd, you had me on board. So glad I found your channel, how refreshing. I was in Scotland a few months ago ( from Australia) and I absolutely loved it. I will be following along on your adventure.
Hi Jude, You came up on my recommended and I love your channel already! It looks like you have found a perfect place to start the next chapter in your life! I am so looking forward to following your progress with the house and land. Best wishes, Em x
I am so glad I came across your channel. What a breath of fresh air. Your smile and such a pleasant voice to listen to. Your promptly is stunning. An absolute gem. I would love to see where the journey takes you. Wishing you best of luck. You’ve just gained a new subscriber 😊
I love the adventure you are starting on. Good for you on choosing a new direction. Life is worth living & I am so excited to see what you do. The outside space is beautiful!! Rabbits are a great source of protein. Easy to take care of. They multiply quickly. And rabbit poop is amazing for compost. It’s not hot so can be used immediately on plants. Just a thought.
The space looks amazing. You should definitely be able to become self-sufficient. A polytunnel would be perfect for that raised area. You can buy them with extra storm guards. Can't wait to see what you do in the future. Good luck
Ooh I’ll look for the storm guard ones! There’s a company in Shetland that make incredible ones - Polycrubs - but they are currently out of my price range! Maybe one day!
Thank you!! I think they’d love it. Mum would be sitting in the garden with a cup of tea, watching all the birds on the feeder and chatting to the cows in the field and dad would be wandering around muttering ‘you paid too much for this!’ In that way that only dads can! Haha
You are in a different league Jude. Your enthusiasm is infectious. You deserve all the happiness in your new home. These vlogs are superb , your editing and scripting are so professional . Totally hooked on your channel . Brilliantly brilliant . Thank you for sharing your journey . 🏴🏴
@19:24 - Jude - Your parents maybe proud of your middle age but I'm damn sure they are proud of you of what you have already done and about to do. Props to you brother. Great choice of life path. However, Winter is coming, Insulation, insulation, insulation! Don't let the warmth escape 👍
I'm catching up on your videos out of order, but want to echo the positive comments I'm seeing here. Thank you for this channel--for your positivity, your grit, your creativity, your humour and sunniness after what must have been terrible grief. The phrase "all my rainy days came at once" has stuck with me. Warmest wishes from Canada for success and happiness!
So happy and excited for you Jude! Great space with a lot of potential! Can't wait to see what you do with it to make it your own. All the best on your new adventure! ❤
10 minutes in i realised that your sweet nature and smile was making me smile so why would i not hit that subscribe button. I look forward to coming along on your journey with you 🤗
Love your new property. Would advise you to rethink your compost site. Your planed spot looks quite close to some largish trees. They will steel all the nutrients from the compost. And you want to keep all that goodness for your veggies. Better to site it near a building or wall. Or even out in the open. The centre of your planed growing space is perfect as it will be the same distance from all garden beds as you both fill it with garden wast and harvest your compost. Wishing you well with your new adventure.
You’re totally right! I didn’t think about the trees until someone else mentioned it! (The novelty of having trees to think about still hasn’t worn off! Haha) When it stops raining I’ll spend some time wandering the garden and making plans!
How beautiful your new home is! When I saw your first video I assumed you were living in a semi detached house. So it's cool to see that all those other buildings are yours! Good luck 😊😊
I think your property is quite beautiful and full of potential.you could let someone who has sheep use your paddock area. THEY WOULD ALSO KEEP THE GRASS DOWN as well as being a small income for you. Good luck with your new life. Should be very exciting.
Great to see you so happy and excited. You're living my dream ( with 2 dogs). Can't wait to see you start your renovations. Wishing you the best life Jude in your new home, God knows you deserve it, you have been through so much in last few years. Onwards and upwards 😊
Be sure to save some clippings, grass and/or weeds to put around flowers and flower beds! Weeds are fine to use, too! The clippomhs make a mat in the beds, keep down weeds and help hold moisture in, while stopping the earth from baking in the sun! When the grass mat gets watered down, you will do hardly any weeding! I did this for years with flower beds and the vegetable garden! And as the rain pushes down the clippomgs, you can always add more! Hope this helps!
What a great new chapter to your life Jude! It is an amazing space with loads of potential waiting for you to snazzy it up like you plan! It is wonderful to hear the joy in your voice and see a genuine smile on your face as you share your new adventure with us! Your parents would both be so proud of how your taking care of yourself and getting a cottage in the countryside with loads of room to start your homestead. Good for you! Way to go Jude Congratulations on the new home 🎉
Hello Queen jude I'm unique 63 year old Chris, living my life in cheshire.so glad you are jumping into a new life.what a lively spot you have chosen. Not taking on too big of a house is a better idea. I know Aberdeen is a challenge for the weather as I have family in the area. You can do any job you chose around the property.like myself you can learn as you go. I'd say never throw anything away until you really beleive you can't repurpose it. I will be watching your journey
Hello!! I’m really enjoying the size of the house - I managed to hoover the entire downstairs without having to unplug the hoover, which is definitely a plus in my book! My last house was definitely too big for me. That’s my exact belief about doing DIY and learning as you go! I too am a big fan of repurposing stuff!!
What a lovely new home you have. Love the greenhouse and your potting shed. We have an allotment, so excited for you. Loving your vlogs. PS I love Goats, they are fun and friendly. Keep you company.

I have chickens, they are fabulous, you won't regret getting some. Thank you so much for sharing your journey. I am looking forward to the next instalment ❤
Hello from California! I am not sure if your plan is to be self-sufficient for your needs only and you then have some type of job, or if you plan to also make a living with your property. If you are going to make a living from what you produce on the property, be mindful that no one thing will (or should) be counted on for income. Many people in the USA who are doing homesteading and selling products are doing several things, that means no single point of failure. Definitely remember the famous motto: Make do and Mend, as you are just starting before you invest in any pricey purchases. I wish you all the best and look forward to seeing your journey. 🙂
Hello!! I’m not planning on making a living from things I produce on the property! I’d like to produce enough things to sustain myself! Use it up, wear it out, make it do or do without is my favourite saying!
You have SO done the right thing Jude!! Your smile is infectious..Just remember, you have to do it to learn it - you'll pick up so many skills along the way... Well done you!
I watch Bealtaine Cottage with the lovely Colette. I immediately thought of her when I watched your video. Good for you, Jude, for making such a huge change. I'm really looking forward to watching your new life unfold. Hugs from Crete!
Hadn't heard of this one. Another good channel to catch is a gentleman named Dan and he first moved to County Sligo in Ireland and now is in Finland. I think his channel is still called Mossy Bottom. Thanks for the reference about Collette. I think folks are increasingly looking to get away from the rat race and return to homesteading; these shows help feed the dream!
Well done making this big leap, I wish you abundance and joy, but please don’t remove all the wasps nests, they’re garden allies, pollinating and eating pests
I work somewhere with an asbestos roofed garage and it looks a lot like the wall that was behind you at about 7:52. But I’m no expert, just freaked out by asbestos since I was a kid a learnt what it was haha! Good luck with everything I’ll definitely be following along with your journey!
I feel so lucky so have found your account this early in your journey! Your positivity is so infectious and I can’t wait to see what you do with your beautiful new home! 💕
Oh wow, it is really a fantastic place! I have outbuilding envy with the amount you have there 😄 We’ve added a few to our place, and was/is an 8 cow (small hill cattle type) barn that we have managed to fill full of sheep fleeces (I’m a spinner,) plant pots, and “it may be useful one day” types of things. As you will be homesteading too, one thing that maybe one of your sheds could be repurposed to is a ‘root cellar’ type thing where you can store your veg like potatoes, carrots, winter squashes, garlic & onions over winter. It’s something I’d love to have here one day 😄 You mentioned a polytunnel in the open area- I totally recommend one! Ours produces all year round, and has stood up to the Wild West of Ireland winds for the past 6 years. We put in raised beds and gravel paths & a stone paver seating/potting up area- and the gravel & pavers absorb the heat from the sun and reflect it back in the night, so it remains much less susceptible to frost than otherwise. It is wonderful how even the weak & cloudy winter sun can raise the temperature in a polytunnel so that it doesn’t feel quite so cold in there- especially since the wind doesn’t get in to freeze fingers & noses 😊. Have fun planning & dreaming, and creating your homestead 🤗
Welcome to Scotland Jude hope you will be very happy here, I live about 50miles from you my son lives in in Aberdeenshire. Omggg I feel like this is my DREAM RUclips channel content! Gardening/homesteading and DIY of a gorgeous home that has so much potential. So glad you started vlogging the journey and can’t WAIT to follow along! 😍
Ahh thank you so much!!
I was thinking exactly the same thing!
Consider me sitting and watching every video! It's so nice to see someone from the queer community in this space on RUclips. Your home is gorgeous, Jude!
A small Air Fryer will sort your cooking for a while until funds allow a cooker. Love & admiration sent to you.x
You can even buy Airfryer/Microwave combos these days. I'm thinking about replacing the gas oven in my mobile home with one.
A multi function toaster oven is very good. I love our Breville

Your charm and personality leaps across the Web… your future IS huge!!
You are so kind!!
I second the dog. Absolutely! Arthur says , “Get a Sheltie! They are the bestest dogs!” (Arthur is an 18 month old Sheltie)
What an amazing adventure you are undertaking and how lucky are we all that you’ve invited us along for the ride!
Can’t wait🥳🥳💃🧹🪣
Don't throw away dishwasher use the draws for holding pots cut the door off and use for nest box for chickens use one of the shed for chickens night house
So glad to see you back
What a beautiful soul you are. Really looking forward to your journey. Glad I’ve come across you. How lovely to see a genuine, happy, smiley dude to take away the trials and tribulations of this cruel world we are in. Bless you sweetie x
A pond and chickens are a must! What a great plot - so much potential.
I definitely want chickens!! I need to work out where I could put a pond!
For sure, your parents are looking down at you with so much pride. Love you Jude!
I would think they have already moved in... walking by his side always. ❤
Great advice! I wish I had more fruit trees and berries.
yes, and find out which direction most of the prevailing winds are: they can be absurdly vicious here in Scotland and many times the fruit trees won't do well in the Highland windy winters. And where he seems to be located, he will need tall deer fences to protect the trees.
Wow!!! You're living my dream!! Dont let those little bits get you down. Figure it out and keep on going!!! Cant wait to see what happens!
Ahh thank you!! I’m very excited to make it amazing!!
Ahh thank you very much!!
The homesteading/queer combo is something I've been searching for for ages! Hard find in the sea of cis American/mormon/prepper homesteading channels 😅Looking forward to your content!
YES!! I totally understand that!! 😂
Too funny! I’m a PK who got my fill of organized religion early on and having these channels shove the Bible etc. down my throat when I’m just looking for nice homey content is jarring to say the least. I expect that won’t happen here
hello ! Just wanted to say that the channel @Camper Vibe are also on a journey of renovation and homesteading if you’d be interested! :>
@@sleepysundaymorning Wonderful!! I'm gonna have to check them out
Try Canadians Tyler & Todd, also Vanwives ... queer homesteaders.
Very sensible with the freezer! I live in rural Devon and when we get cut off by harsh winter weather, having extra supplies is essential! 🥰👍🏻
Watching you on your journey is so fascinating. What a lovely smile. My condolences on the loss of your parents. Kind regards.
Thank you!! I like the idea of rabbits even if just to improve my compost!
I'm so happy to see you happy! Looking forward to following your renovation and life journey.
I'm loving your new place. The best of everything you plan to do. So lovely to see you gushing. Your folks would be SO proud
I look forward to coming along on your journey with you 🤗
Nice to see you again, friend! What an incredible life you are making. It warms my heart to see your smile and your enthusiasm for this new venture!!!
Your parents definitely would be so very proud of you, Jude. Congratulations on a lovely new home.
I really hope they would be! I think they probably would. 😊
Your property has a great infrastructure already! What a good jumping off point! ❤
Thank you!! It definitely has good bones!
What a cheery personality you have. So enjoyable to watch.you make me smile.. 😊❤
Congratulations on your new home. I look forward to following you on your journey. ❤❤❤

I could not have been any happier than when I came across this video. It is so good to see how happy you are and that you finally got the home you wanted so much. Looking forward to the journey you are about to take us on Jude.
Thank you so much!!
Lovely place! I recommend that you consider a polycrub rather than a polytunnel. Created in Shetland, they will stand up to all weathers.
I’ve been looking at polycrubs! I love that they’re made on Shetland - and they look incredible. I’d have to save up, but eventually maybe!!
@rewildingjude it would certainly be worth the investment. My father in law has one, and he's really pleased it .
Wow, I can see why your smile is so bright! What a wonderful place. You have a lot of work ahead of you, but you will have the most amazing home when you are finished.
Have you watched Bealtaine Cottage? Collette bought her house and 2 acres 20 years ago and has worked miracles with both the cottage and land.
One caution… she has some JK Rowling type views on gender. This seems to be much more common in the UK than the US, at least I don’t run into it here
You look so happy and excited! Good luck in your new home 🌈🏡
Oh, that last shot of the poppies and the chiminea ☺️😍🥹
Looking forward to your adventures. What a beautiful property - can't wait to see what the house looks like.
Well done making this big leap, I wish you abundance and joy, but please don’t remove all the wasps nests, they’re garden allies, pollinating and eating pests
Yes to this!!! They are an essential part of the ecosystem, especially since he wants to do lots of gardening. Veggies don't pollinate themselves!!
I work somewhere with an asbestos roofed garage and it looks a lot like the wall that was behind you at about 7:52. But I’m no expert, just freaked out by asbestos since I was a kid a learnt what it was haha! Good luck with everything I’ll definitely be following along with your journey!
Just knitting myself Corner to Corner blanket
Hope our cold weather wont put you off too much there are more good than downs living in the country side of Scotland the views for one.
