Nothing naughty, honest, it's simply where I put an album on shuffle and listen to/discuss the first 4 tracks to come up and (SPOILER ALERT) in this case those songs were:

Great band, one of my favourites, they were as good in the 80s as they were in the 90s! Pretty different sound though.

People love this early REM. I think it is inventive and raw and cutting edge, but I can never bring myself to say it is actually better than the mid-career stuff. Blasphemy, I know
Very mild blasphemy compared to some of my utterances around these parts...and I wouldn't argue against you on it either! JSB
