- In this video we will be showing you step by step on how to change the oil in your 3.6L Pentastar V6 Jeep Wrangler
What You'll Need!
-14mm wrench or socket for oil drain plug
-22mm wrench or socket for oil filter cap
-Oil catch pan for used oil
-5-6 quarts of 0w-20 engine oil
-Funnel to pour in new oil
-Small regular screw driver to easily remove O-ring from filter cap
-Shop rags or paper towels for cleanup
-Brake Cleaner or other degreaser

24 MM for filter
13 MM Drain plug
6.0 Qts for oil with some sources. 5.0 shows almost Qt low. It looks like 5.5 to 5.6 showed full. This is what I got. It may vary for you depending on drainage.

The wrangler is the easiest oil change I've ever done. Filter up top and easy to get to. You dont need a lift to drain the oil pan. And everything is easy to access.
The weight of the oil totally trips me out! 0W-20????
My wife's Tundra says it needs 0W-30. I put it in it once until I decided to give it some extra vitamins and minerals every IC Engine really needs and put Rotella T6 15W40 diesel oil in it. If it's good enough for my new Duramax, it should be just fine for some little gasser!
In process of the oil change on my daughter's Rubi now and doing this research for it after getting the T6 oil for this job now.

JL 3.6 take 5 quarts. You over filled by 1 quart.
Its not a 22mm for the oil cap its a 1 in or 25mm

Your jeep only takes 5 qts not 5.9.
Pentastar 3.6l in Jeeps takes 5.9L of 0w-20. 2018 and up.
@@martyhall9904 no the new 2018 and up JL takes 5 qts not 5.9. The old JK took 5.9. HTH.
@@coop4274 OK I have a Jeep Grand Cherokee and it takes 5.9Qt the 3.6L V6. If others are different I apologize and stand corrected.
@@martyhall9904 you drive a Jeep Grand Cherokee NOT a wrangler. This video is for the new style wrangler. The new wrangler changed to 5 qts from 5.9 qts.
