LOL - nothing like trying to tidy up the nursery when the teenager comes home and is upset that you are rearranging HER bedroom!
She's ready to learn to fish and take down small game Spirit gets hungry enough she will follow them to the lake, her first kill is coming she has the best teachers in the valley.
That's amazing, I'm assuming the parents are increasingly ignoring her demands for food in order to motivate her to start hunting. There at the end Spirit almost seems to be begging humbly and Jackie is having to turn her head and hold her ground. I would be a lousy eagle mom- I'd be saying "aw, poor thing, let me just dip down to the lake and get her a fish. We can train tomorrow!" 🤣🤣🤣
I watched this footage live today and was so mesmerized but then time flew and I realized I better get back to work! I am new to all of this so not sure if all eaglets are this territorial? But when she comes in fast and snags the fish right out from under them before they even have a chance to get any, it cracks me up. And she guards it with her wings like a dog guarding its bone and does not hold back going after her parents’ talons. They must be made of steel to withstand those bites. Spirit is the perfect name for her because she sure has a lot of it, and a fighting spirit at that. When I leave my windows open and she starts to carry on and squeal I’m sure the neighbors are wondering what the heck is going on at my house, haha. She’s so beautiful and I love her personality. I could watch her all day. Thanks to FOBBV we get to watch all of this from a safe distance for the eagles and see things we would never otherwise get to see.
She’s so ear piercing territorial of this nest she may never leave oh my daddy’s little girl 🦅

This screen shot looking from behind Spirits' head down to the ground indicates their nest must be in one of the tallest trees in the Western Hemisphere.. It must be well over 100 feet to the ground - wow-wee what a height... No wonder that they can see for at least 20 miles up there.. She must have super-duper telescopic lenses in her eyes because she is supposed to be able to spot a mouse crawling around down on the ground away in the distance.. GOD did one hell of a job in creating and configuring their eyesight requirements..
I thought E-20 in FL had a loud voice……this little one takes the cake! She is SO SQUEE-FULL! Her parents hang in the nest with her much longer that I would. I love learning about these awesome birds, and seeing the personalities of eaglets!
Those are some interesting sticks... the highs/low pitches out of Spirits mouth 🔊🎧🔊👀🤣😂 Listened to her echo throughout the lake area in the early morning..Then the highlight of my day..cam appearance, again.😘😘 right back at ya 💖
She clearly doesn't realize that she will be leaving this nest behind but it still belongs to mom and dad. They can do with it as they please. Perhaps they are even trying to encourage her to leave by bringing in those big sticks.
Spirit is so vocal about her dislikes. Poor Jackie has to put up with Spirit’s tantrums.
She’s just like mama when she was younger always nagging at shadow that’s why he’s so good at ignoring it he just goes about his business like he’s all alone he’s like holler all you want I’m gonna clean the nest😆

Spirit must lurk, watching the nest, hoping to get a feed. She seems "Johnnie on the spot" whenever the parents land. And genuinely perturbed when there's nothing to eat !!! Squee Squeee Squeeee !!!!!

Momma Jackie let Spirit know real fast my talons are bigger than yours and Spirit responded fast lowering her head but she still had her tantrum. Wonder how much longer before Spirit is fully on her own and not reliant on Shadow and Jackie.

Poor Spirit, after she realizes there's no fish in Jackie's talons or her beak, she just whimpers incessantly, as if begging for some food until she tires out (or gives up) and pancakes. I love the shot from behind her head as she looks out from the back porch. I almost feel as if I'm with her, that I could reach out and touch her. She has the best close ups! I love you Spirit!
I suppose neither of her parents has flown with her down to the lake to initiate fishing lessons with her.. Then she can feed her beak whenever she wishes.. Surely someone in the area would have seen the family down there training her to fish...

She thinks that food come from her parents talons. Now comes the tough love of them making her go hungry enough to teach her that she can get her own food with some instruction. Spirit is entering adulthood.

I observe that Jackie keeps adding sticks to nest and has covered up Spirits previous pancaking area. Is this the parents way to inspire Spirit to get going? Nest is pretty stick filled. There's only a small area left now where Spirit csn still flop down on.
When are the parents going to teach spirit on how to catch fish? Need to do asap.
That is up to Spirit. She is capable of following them to their hunting grounds and watching how it’s done. Fishing is a skill that takes some time to master.
She really is very young and has a lot of learning before she totally leaves
