  • Slowly working on the new carbon fiber gantry. It would have helped if all the screws shown in the packing list were actually... packed.

Regarding recess/spacer on joint: I've had similar problem but on AB motor bracket. The reason was: there was missing recess on top cover for one of standoffs. I've had to drill one.
It might be aluminium part, but I would recommend to check cavities for standoffs. Also make sure that you used proper left-right carbon fiber parts for X-joints, they have mirrored recesses and one of them just bigger. I know, sounds like a stupid advice, but it's pretty easy to flip the cover. I reassembled brackets several times until did it properly.
Another lesson I learned while I was assembling this gantry: do not tighten anything until it fully assembled. Since you have to assemble many individual parts and put them together. So, tighten them when they sit together. Force must be spread evenly. And that's literally about every joint of this gantry including tube mounts. Don't tighten them or re-tighten when you installed gantry into frame
And yes, they're missing m3x5 and m3x6 bolts. Thank you very much for that info, was very helpful, I've bought some extra bolts prior to observing that myself
Overall, I've found whole process tricky but satisfying
UPD: Also I've found one more strange thing: one of supporting aluminium standoffs for X-joint had different threading depth. One side had few less mm in depth. So I flipped it deep hole to long fixing bolt. I don't know whether it by design or random quality issues. Doc does not states anything about this

Thanks for sharing your experience. Hopefully it will help anyone else who buys the kit. I haven't worked on the printer in a while, I need to get back to it and get it running!

So missing hardware and parts don't align... Where did you get this kit? I don't want to make the mistake of buying this.

Unfortunately, all true. I used the contact form on the Chaoticlab website to let them know about my issues but haven't heard back. I'm not on any Voron or Chaoticlab Discord or social media platforms so I can't tell if what I'm experiencing is a one off, or a known issue. I've been able to work around the problems but won't really know the full impact until I'm up and printing.

Are you not going to have issues with the CF deforming/softening in the 50C the voron chambers sit at?

Hopefully the CF was made with high temp resin. I primarily print PLA with occasional PETG so I'm not sure if I'll use more than the top and back enclosure panels.

@@Arek_R. LOL! Who knows, maybe I'll fall in love with ABS... If the VOC don't knock me out first. Seriously though, I do have the parts for the neverwhere filter so we'll see.

@@TomsProjects I ran my voron on abs without the nevermore filter and it was really smelly in the room and I would even get a bit dizzy.
Once I've installed nevermore I couldn't smell anything anymore.
There is newer variant of nevermore which mounts on the back is much bigger and has hepa filter for microplastic particulate.
