- Does Guinness finally have a competitor? I compare Brewdog Black Heart draught stout to the formidable Guinness draught stout...but which one comes out on top in a taste test comparison?
This is a can comparison, before I got the chance to sample one of the new Guinness Nitrosurge cans.
Not sure why I chopped the top of my head off when filming, sorry!
Give Brewdog Black Heart a go and let me know what you think. Next I need try them head to head in a bar.

I bought Black Heart from Tesco a few weeks ago and now its my go-to, and I was a diet hard Guinness drinker
Nice. To be honest, it's just nice to have a choice of something different from Guinness! They've had the run of the stout market for decades, so nice that Black Heart is giving them a run for their money!
Brewdog slightly more coffee like. I prefer Guinness on Draught when properly looked after and Brewdog from the can. Both great drinks.
Guinness is a nothing beer that tastes of soft air and velvet. It’s for people who want to move a step beyond a metallic tasting corn syrup lager but aren’t ready for an actual stout with malt and hops in it. It belongs in the same aisle as chicken korma and instant mashed potato. It’s great for hangovers or for when you have to do something important like fly a plane or meet the king of Sweden. I definitely have a time and place for it. Guinness Export on the other hand tastes like a proper stout with some actual flavour. Anything that is described as a Guinness with more body has to be a good thing for the market.
It's just good that Guinness has some competition finally! 👍🏼
Good honest review. Rugby’s on this weekend. After watching your review I will give Black Heart a try.
See what I did there😉.
Haha, thanks Douglas. Maybe you can have a Black Heart in the first half and a Guinness in the second, if you're watching it 😉
Brew dog beats Guinness unconscious
It's okay, but sorry it doesn't come close to guinness. Guinness has way more depth to it .
You reckon? I thought they were INCREDIBLY close! Did you compare Guinness to Black Heart in the can, or as a draught pint?
