    As a craft beer guy, I love it when a brewpub will have something similar to X, Y, or Z’s macro brewed beer. Some of my friends are not interested in a beer you can chew or as some say, “that dark shit”. Giving them an alternative like this allows us to frequent more establishments.

      It's a premise that brewdog have positioned themselves as premium and charge premium prices for their product. We see it for pizza, burgers etc. It's done usually under the guise of super premium hard to find ingredients but they aren't at all. I'm sure they include the 'experience' in their prices too.

For me, I am more of a craft beer type person and whilst I am not all that keen on the majority of Brewdogs current beers I actually think they nailed this one. Personally I would take it over Guiness but to each his own as they say! As I write this you can pick it up for 4 for £4 in Tesco which is excellent value too.

    The maddest thing, is the location really. I am a scouser, legitimately incredibly stoned. However, I am stoned off of hash. And I've always said a lovely, proper hash joint goes so nice with a guinness. The flavour of hash and proper hash, not nasty shit you take a lighter to lol, Frenchy Cannoli hash, proper hash. That's the same as is in guinness like lol you just know you've got something really nice to enjoy. A mad red wine sauce with this chicken with bacon, that has mad herbs on top lol how they complement eachother.
    When weed is eventually legalised, the hash and pint of Guinness combination amongst older people (I'm 34), in Liverpool pubs needs to be documented. Men on the street, who drink Guinness and smoke weed in Liverpool. There really are so many of us.

    Brewdog don't hide the fact they want to take on Guinness - they acknowledge outside of Ireland there's really very little competition. Might see the odd place with Murphy's so that's what they want to fill. Same with their lager, they even use Heineken in their business updates - they want to outsell them.
    Ultimately there isn't the money in being solely craft beer, Brewdog have owners (TSG) that require certain levels of growth, if these aren't being met it'll come from the business. They play the whole craft card but really James Watt only cares about selling books.

There are plenty in Yorkshire and London.

    Camera is focussing just fine, it's just not focussing where you want it to, understanding the focusing mode you're using and how to control depth of field with the lens aperture helps you to control this and get the shot to look exactly as you want it to, sorry it's what happens when a photographer watches a review video! 🤣 I haven't had Black Heart on draught yet, but at home I prefer it to Guinness, and I don't keep it in the fridge either as if it's too cold you get less head and flavour, so right now I keep it in a brick shed in my garden which isn't heated so nice and cool inside like a cellar.

Funny thing is if you get people who drink macro lager to try a local lager they will love it. Small scale operations aren't the ones ripping of customers, publicans are and while not all do, more are getting better at giving over tap space to local beers. Also, tourists LOVE seeing local beer, they have no interest in a Heineken or moretti or Coors or rockshore while in county Laois on a day trip

    The reason Guinness doesn't smell much of anything is it's served too cold and the nitro head on it prevents any possible aroma from escaping, these are basics of beer

    • @mygigs
      @mygigs Год назад

      Serving temperature affects all beers. Should a Coors and moretti be served at the same temperature as Guinness? It mutes all aroma and flavours, THATS why lads are able to sink pints of Guinness fast. If the pints were warmer by 2-4°c you wouldn't see them as popular.
