Guinness Draught Nitrosurge VS Brewdog Black Heart Through The Nitrosurge (Done Properly)
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 11 мар 2023
- Brewdog have taken on the establishment. They’ve knocked on the door of the biggest selling beer in the UK and shouted “oi, we can do better”.
So. They’ve come up with their answer to the monolith that is Guinness. Their version BLACK HEART has just hit Tesco in the UK. And it’s making big waves.
Around the same time Guinness Nitrosurge hit mainland UK as well.
So the question is. Which is better? Guinness Draught Nitrosurge or Brewdog Black Heart through the Nitrosurge?
Well. Never one to back down from a challenger? Let’s find out?

What makes Guinness such a fantastic pint isn’t that it’s the best tasting stout but that it’s incredibly easy to have a proper session with it. There’s nothing in it’s flavour that you grow tired of after a few.
Totally agree, plus I never get a hangover from Guinness? Never....oddly.
@-Deena. same or any other stout. Had 16 cans of Forged last night and apart from feeling a little groggy in the morning I'm totally fine now. If I'd have drank the same amount of lager I'd have crippling anxiety and be too scared to leave the house 😅
Well presented as ever Scott. Big thumbs up
Cheers Paul.
I love the Black Heart. I love the coffee, chocolate flavours. The best stout I have had.
Haven't tried Forged Irish Stout yet though.
I think it taste like Murphys stout Black heart dose
Looking forward to this.....i bought 12 cans of black heart the other day and prefer it to Guinness although a decent pint of Guinness in a pub wins every day...
Great domeage on that pour 👍🏼 love the branded glasses 😂
I’m very proud of my branded glasses 🤣
I've had the chance to try the blackheart now,
sorry, but for me, Guinness still wins, it's more refreshing/smashable for me.
Also, as for the future of blackheart taking over the market... ooooh, I dunno man, I was on a workplace jolly at the Cheltenham goldcup races yesterday... it's still nothing but guinness, guinness and more guinness. you'll never be able to take away the long heritage away from the fans.
It’s better than a lot of craft stouts. I thought this had great body for 4.1% and had plenty of roasted malt flavour. I’ve had so many thin, overly sweet stouts from craft breweries that have been pretty poor. This is well done
Great review, you’re getting better at the Nitrosurge pouring, just when you do the 2nd step pour keep the nozzle closer to the glass and target the back wall of the glass, this avoids bubbles on your head and an immaculate dome, but credit where it’s due mate, well done 👏
The pin prick trick can be used on any can with a widget, so you can have fun trying it out on different beers as it does smooth them and change the taste.
You can try a Guinness Draught can with the pin prick trick through the Nitrosurge device against the actual Nitrosurge cans and see if you can tell a difference. I can’t really myself, so buy the Guinness Draught cans as they’re cheaper (half the price, but not half the volume)
Keep ‘er lit mate 👍
Thank you for the kind words and further advice. I will certainly take that on board. Cheers.
Great comparison Scott 👌🍻
Cheers Lee.
Hi Scott
Been watching a few of your videos in the last few days and what a great watch they are, laid back and no nonsense.
I’ve recently been comparing Camden Stout, Brewdog Black Heart and Guinness Draught.
So far I’ve tried it both straight from can and through nitro surger.
Do you find the nitro surger changes the flavour profile of Black Heart?
It definitely does for Camden Stout as the sweetness is reduced.
Will be using it on Guinness tomorrow.
Thanks for this. My wife got me a NS and four cans of Guinness today (it's me birthday) and I'm looking forward to trying it later, when I've fully charged me gadjit. But great to know it can be used with other beers and the Brewdog certainly looks like one to try.
Happy birthday. Enjoy.
great vlog scott like yourself i do like guiness but not its biggest fan i tried black heart this week and i have to say hands down flavour wise its a winner and you convinced me to buy a nitrosurge aswell
Cheers. I couldn’t agree more. It nails Guinness on taste and aroma. Be interesting how long it hangs around.
Have a great day.
I fancy some of that brew dog, been getting some great reviews and the price is brilliant ( for a brew dog beer ) nice one cheers 🍻👍
Cheers mate. The Brewdog is £4 for 4 with club card at a minute. That’s a steal.
I've just tried brew dog for the first time, and it's an amazing stout.
It’s not bad is it.
Excellent comparison mate, just not sure I could be bothered with the faff of the pin prick method 🤣.
It is definitely a faff mate 🤣🤣🤣
I tried black heart and I thought it was a more drinkable stout with a lot going on in terms of aroma and taste very much of coffee and chocolate 👍
As from today until April 3rd Black Heart 4 packs are £4 clubcard price.
You can’t go wrong with that can you?
This should be intresting
I think the comparison in your terms is put draught guiness in a can and compare with brewfog in a can both using nitrosurge
You don’t need to put a pin in it
Enjoyed that review Scott. Taking the time to use the gadget properly on both beers makes the comparison much better for me as a viewer.
Guinness developing a gadget which improves a competitor's beer is hilarious..... I doubt they'll mind too much if the sales multiply because people are buying it to use with other beers.
Maybe next time get your tin helmet on and use the gadget to create a shamrock in the head of the Guinness. I imagine your comments box will be nitro surged if you commit the ultimate sin.
Be lucky
If you don’t listen to criticism Billy. Then you’re a fool. I got some for my first pour video. Rightly so. So I went back and got it right. Not difficult is it? Well it is for some obviously 🤣
Currently £4 for 4 in Tesco. Crazy good beer for that price. I have paid £4 for a single can of stout I havent enjoyed as much.
It’s not bad is it. 🍺🍺🍺
Black heart 100% . I've said many times I preferred Beamish when it was available in England to Guinness and I prefer Guinness original to Guinness draught !! You won't often find Guinness original in a pub though !!
Black heart is decent dave isn’t it.
Brewdog will only compete with Guinness when they bring out a suger cap of their own .
The Black Heart has more punch ….. But it ain’t no Guinness!
The BrewDog is a one part pour out the can . There’s reasons for Guinness two part pour … 🙈😂. These reviews are so much fun . 😅
Murphys and beamish both kick guiness arse!
Brew dog is not designed for this. It will now be flatter.
With NS cans being £2 each they are way overpriced, considering they have no widget, so we're paying more for less. The BH is a steal for 10 x cans its £1.20 each, I have tasted one and liked it. I will try one tonight on the NS unit and I reckon will like it more, along with the price I like it even more again.
Great video, I’ve got some today to try, does it need leaving in the fridge 24 hours like the Guinness nitrosurge?
Also what’s your cleaning method for your glasses for you to get that lacing 😍
Just your opinion chum....loads would agree with you millions would not it's that simple.
Oh well chum. That’s what it’s about. Opinions
@@ScottReviewsThings 100% chum.
Lost most of the weekend to family stuff and the rugby, so haven't had the chance to grab a surger yet but this is very cool. Have you ever shotgunned a beer? Guessing the pin thing is a bit like that, equalising pressure or something. Definitely trying both like this, cheers mate 👍🏻
Imagine going through that faff after a few. End up like pinhead in Hellraiser 🤣🤣🤣
Tried the black heart through the Guinness surger and thought it had a horrible chemical taste
Interesting 🤔
Did you need to put a pin in it?
Black Heart is OK - bit to rich with the burnt coffee taste for my liking...
Black Heart is the best Brewdog beer for ages. I agree it’s not for everyone though. 🍺🍺
Good to see 👀 you took my pin 📌 tip on board 👍 it will save you a fortune Scott in Guinness cans..
I’d be a fool if I didn’t listen Danny.
@Scott & Wanda's World get on board and be the first Beer Tuber to review one of every kind of style in the alcohol world.. I reckon Carling would be a good place to start 🤣
Maybe I'm wrong but putting the first crack on the ring pull and then waiting for it to stop hissing seems to give the same effect and is easier, more convenient than a pin
@gt3911 first crack I'd reckon releases the widget.
@@gt3911 it’s easier to activate the widget that way than the pin prick, if it’s activated you need to crack it open and pour quickly otherwise it’s fecked
Read this in capital letters
Brewdog black heart is far more superior in many interesting and satisfying ways
1 atoms is more accurate
2 the overall taste is superior
3 the opening of a can more interesting
4 price point (Tesco)
5 Guineas old and imo I wouldn’t need to question twice it’s time has come to an end yes not taking away any effort to Guineas I’m just stating facts I live down in north of the compass England that is my overall verdict.
The thing about guiness it tastes the same wherever you drink it in the world.
There would a lot of people that would disagree with this.
Nice video,,but too much faff for me,imagine doing that after a skinful? There would be beer and foam all over the place.draught guiness is nothing like the bottled stuff.superior drink by far in the bottle.
You’d be like Pinhead from Hellraiser after a few pints trying to do this wouldnt you 🤣🤣🤣
What an amazing coincidence that the other beer tw@t from Wales did exactly the same thing even putting both through the nitro surge device. I guess you still watch his videos despite the tiff
Or. I recorded it yesterday afternoon. Before I’d even seen his. But thanks for watching.
@Scott & Wanda's World loool that's unlucky, bet that's not what he'll think
@@brendan904 I couldn’t care less what he thinks 🤣🤣
The so called “beer expert” couldn’t even get the simplest thing right and looked like a complete fool. Much rather watch Scott here who at least provides some good information.
But then that’s what happens when you are a raging alcoholic drinking the moment you wake up.
@@leonmalone7841 lol he does three beer reviews before breakfast
You're wrong 😁
Wouldn’t be the first time.
