This movie, knowing it or not, initiated the movement to better representation for asians, especially asian men! Such a huge inspiration for me and many other asians living in the west. Asians CAN be strong. Asians CAN be handsome. Asians CAN be American.
hard to believe from the time when Lee was on scene til now there hasn't been anybody who really represented Asians well, and I don't mean simple runs like kung fu and martial arts but in general like a normal role depicting them in a positive light. shows you how extensive the racist attitudes in culture still lingers
@@uniqfox How do you represent Asians well? They Arent all the same person and not every Asian is like Bruce Lee. There's good and bad ones. Even then calling yourself Asian clearly means you use the same racial slurs on yourself
truth is, asians don't need to prove those things you mentioned. God created us each different, unique, and distinctive. if people look down, disparage, denigrate, malign us out of ignorance or fear that's on them. I don't need Hollywood or culture to illustrate my self worth or define my identity.
In essence its true bruce lee ways although the actual event didnt happen but the way chinese felt including bruce was true. Some people were very un kind to chinese but bruce lee would certainly show anyone what he was made of!!!
if you studied jeet kune do you'd know that Lee in this scene wasn't even going full out, he was demonstrating very minimal/basic techniques and just playing cat/mouse. if he didn't hold back he could've very well crippled each one of them. when he was dodging the first idiots punches he could've delivered at least 3-4 right there and then. this was Lee being nice.
Jiu jitsu did not come to the United states until the 1960s and it was not that popular until the 80s and 90s. Bruce Lee went to high school in the early 50s. These guys would never have heard of Jiu jitsu, nor use it's name to describe Kung Fu.

Yep and a good actor like Van dam jet li etc lol they wud yet absolutely wrekd against a proper experienced fighter with 20+ years street fight and cage experience. However jet li and Bruce etc would absolutely annihilate normal people or amateur fighters.
