- In a pulse-pounding and unforgettable scene from the martial arts classic The Way of the Dragon, Tang Lung, portrayed by the legendary Bruce Lee, joins forces with the brave staff of Chen Ching-hua's restaurant to take on a ruthless gang of thugs. Together, they engage in a fierce and sprawling battle, with Tang leading the charge, his lightning-fast moves and indomitable spirit inspiring his allies to fight with everything they have. The restaurant becomes a whirlwind of flying fists, shattered furniture, and broken bodies as Tang and his companions unleash a barrage of kung fu techniques on their opponents. The choreography is a masterpiece of controlled chaos, showcasing Bruce Lee's unparalleled skill and the raw power of a united front against oppression. As the dust settles and the thugs lie defeated, Tang confronts their leader, his voice filled with righteous anger and unwavering resolve. He delivers a stern warning, making it crystal clear that the restaurant is off-limits and that any further attempts to intimidate or harm its people will be met with swift and merciless retribution.

This fight has a great comedic timing. Also, those goons are phenomenal, each of them has their own personality, especially the leader.
Much of the movie drags and has a overall boring plot but it's filled with great scenes like this and excellent characters in general.
I think that comedy is the sound fx
why did Bruce have to do Joey Fatone like that?
@@JohnDoe-pt7ru❤

The "mama mia" part gets me every time in this video 😅

Maybe he's the original Mario.
@@eldesgraciado6690 I always thought that he was the Italian version of Wolfman Jack. 😅😂🤣
His speed and control is astounding! Form, perfect!!!!!! When he breaks out a 2nd pair, it's over!
I love how that last thug was about to leave but bruce was like( nah-uh u getting this whopping too)lol.
That Smile Is The Smile Of The Great One. Bruce Lee Was And Still Is The Greatest
Totally! I highly recommend reading ALL his books too. There's some Great trivia as well as noble teachings.
The poor chap at 2:01 behind Bruce unfortunately took a nunchaku to his lip which was a permanent scar he hid under his tash! :O He said that after the take, Bruce was so embarrassed & hugged the fellow.
He also accidentally kicked the Boss man in the Jaw! Apparently Bruce was so cocky that he would kick the Cigar from his mouth! But it all went wrong one day when he suddenly turned his head. =D He said that he never heard anyone apologize so profusely as Bruce did that day, but that people would loose teeth gladly for Bruce because he was such a joy & honour to work with. Thankfully no teeth were lost, but words were spoken & Bruce would cut out the tomfoolery!!
They all noted that Bruce was highly driven, passionate, restless & intent on looking good on screen. He practiced the ceiling lamp kick constantly up a brick wall with a marking, & that he also had the most rigid hand shake you could ever imagine! He would make you feel proud to be human. What a great guy. Truly humbling, but his books are very perspicacious. Buy "Striking Thoughts" if you can find it. It will teach you a lot about yourself.
Bruce Lee Was That Good.
The way Bruce kicked ass with the nunchucks is what inspired me to learn how to use nunchucks. Another scene that had my mouth wide open in amazement was the scene where he extended his lats to do what back then was known as a "cobra spread".
Still don't know how Bruce did that.
One of the things I loved about him the most - relaxed he just looked like another skinny guy (albeit in great shape). But when he flexed up the muscles just popped out with stunning definition. Don't know that I've ever seen anyone quite like him.
@@darkwolf-22 The lat spread? Bodybuilders do it all the time. I can do it, heck you probably can do it.
And to think this scene was cut from VHS tapes in the 80's, unreal!! Best scene ever
They were actually censoered back then? Lmao wack
@@Maximusg400 All scenes with nunchaku were indeed cut by the BBFC, the british censors at the time, yes.
My dad had a copy that he recorded on VHS back in the day in the 80s and I remember this entire scene.
In the Video Gems version, this scene was intact.
@@gmshadowtraders they weren't cut out of the Rank releases, which were subject to British censorship, but this scene was definitely shortened in them, for instance where the beardy bloke is fumbling around with the nunchaku wasn't in it
The way Bruce's victims fall and flail around after being his is hilarious.
shit was classic
This was too funny. The bad guys were clueless.
I love this scene. Bruce Lee teaching this mobsters a lesson.
Bruce: *pulls out nunchuck*
*More reinforcement arrives*
Bruce: *pulls out a second nunchuck*
Attachment Equipped: *Akimbo*
Busted out laughing
Bruce: takes down half the guys
Bruce: puts away second, only needs one
Pure comedy.
Choreography and sound effects simply magnify this fact.
I dunno what happened to sound effects in this dub... In the original its much better.
Seemed much more like action with a hint of comedy (which IMO is ahead of its time, as many modern action movies now do this). The movie gets much more serious as it progresses especially with the Chuck Norris vs Bruce, zero comedy in that scene
The camera men had to ask Bruce Lee to slow down, he was so fast.
😁😁😁😜😜😜
notice the punching sound is exactly the same velocity (volume) in every hit. SFX in the 70's at it's worst. lol
The only thing they're missing is that number taking machine like down at the deli.
Classic Bruce Lee... THANK YOU!
“Go and get him, but NO GUNS” 😂 😂
Good thing for Bruce.
Lee van cluff alan ladd
@@elpacho....9254 Absolutely. I was blessed to have found the complete collection of "Bruce Lee's fighting method" and, as memory serves, he himself said once that with all the studying of martial arts in the world, it didn't matter if someone could pull a gun out and shoot you dead. He never once said they were useless or pointless, but he also was realistic and not "Hollywood" about it.
When he threw that paper from his pocket onto him I died ☠️
I was 14 when this movie was made. Bruce's movies were all rated 18 but my friend and I went to see them all 😆. Clearly a lot of camera work in them, but Bruce's skill was phenomenal!
You tell me how many fight scenes are better than that. I have seen this 100 times over 40 years and this never gets old. We are talking major ass kicking. My mother from her 50's thru 80's loved Bruce. There is nothing better than a good ass kicking.
choreographed clap trap but you believe it's real life!
When I was growing up I think every kid who watched Bruce lee with Nun Chucks went out and bought a pair. Of course, we all knocked ourselves silly trying to use them! Still an awesome display from The Master!

Bruce Lee the greatest martial artist of all time !
I can never get enough of this scene! Best part of the movie. I loved how Tang Long throws his Nuchucks at the Mob Boss and points down like "You didn't pay the bill". Then sends a warning to the Boss who didn't heed it.
The last thug was like a Three Stooges moment 🤣
Bruce Lee still number 1 today .
50 years later this is still such a cool fight scene!!!
Bruce just picked everyone off with his nunchucks (reach advantage), while the guy with the long-range staff stood back like a coward, telling other people to "get him". It was a senseless scene.
@@terryadams2652 senseless but cool!!!

I love how the guy with the gun at the end is desperately trying to find a place to hide it.
Bruce knew how to entertain ALL cultures! He did it! He broke down racial barriers with this film. Set in Rome, with a white cast, with Chinese dialogue with action & comedy. What an achievement.
ARE U RACIST ?? WHAT THE HEII D0ES IT MATTER THE RACE ??? U MUST BE 20-30 YEARS 0ID AND IND0CTRINATED BY THE MEDIA
A little too much credit, fan boy. Yes he broke race barriers in being an Asian lead man who was muscular and kicked ass instead of being the house boy or the gardener. He couldn't speak English very well and had no acting ability. He was in fact a one trick pony. However, his influence in changing Hollywood's typecasting of Asian leading man did not last long. No Chinese leading man has starred in any movie unless you count Crazy Rich Asians. There has been zero TV shows with a Chinese leading man. Every Asian is either a background character of generic Asian stereotype, a sexless eunuch of an engineer or science geek. His influence had been exaggerated and really faded to nothingness.
@@ms.annthrope415 He couldn't speak English well? He grew up in the USA and made it in Hollywood as the Green Hornet's sidekick Kato.
bruh this is so boring and to imply white people weren't in every film is odd they created film
@@ms.annthrope415, have you not seen the latest installment of the 'Kung-fu' series? It's leading character is a Chinese woman. The setting is modern day San Francisco.
Love this movie, so funny and greatest display of skills by the Master...
Watched this scene countless times and just noticed how Bruce intercepted and anticipated everything. Indeed, you are watching a master at work.
Of course. He choreographed every scene.
@@sdcashman45 probebly would have been many close calls though. Bruce got a bloodied face in enter the dragon when he mistimed dodging a punch from the Han.
@@sdcashman45 You do understand that Bruce knew and mastered several martial arts right? He wasn't some actor who needed stuntmen and he was so fast they had to slow the cameras down to catch his movements...don't make ti semm like Bruce could not do this in real life.Go look at his real life exhibitions if the footage is on youtube
@@Teo_live Your evidence?
@@MrShaziman The same evidence used by all human events not on camera, eye witness accounts. Btw I am not sure why you need evidence for rather common injuries in martial art films.
If you want to see someone hurt himself, just give him a nunchuck to play with, lol, 😂. For sure he’ll get a few goose eggs on the head.
Had some as a kid. Put myself in the fetal position many times.
More like the inner elbow.
Takes time, but one can get there. It's been ages, but I could swing the sticks something fierce.
Starting at 5:36 his mock punches at the boss's stomach are like lightning strikes. Wow lol

There’s been great martial artists past and present who have graced our screens but LEE is the best I’ve no doubt about it . His aura can never be matched 😊👍🏴. Same it was funny 🤣🤣🤣
Such a goofy scene, but Bruce took it seriously and I love it. 🙂
Bruce Lee's weakness definitely wasn't being attacked one person at a time.
God I miss when fight scenes were filmed and edited this calmly. Wide shots, not too many cuts, and camera movements were mostly steady. No close up shaky cam, just pure skill. You'll get the occasional close up to emphasize a huge blow, but it's not the entire scene.
hence why John Wick is so good. It takes cues from these classics.
@@JohnDoe-pt7ru Yeah and they have their fast camera movements when needed, but you can still see and understand the action.
It looks like someone went in and embellished the sound effects a bit more when Bruce uses his Nunchakus - well done. Bruce Lee will always be EPIC. No one comes close. 1:18
If Bruce wanted to he could have used that gun he tossed aside and in his own words "Bang ... settle it!!!" Lol!!!

I remember seeing this as a kid in the movie theater when my parents brought myself and my sister to see this GREAT classic!
These movies skits are master pieces and should be put in archives also i like the movie kung fu hustle. Pure art. One more thing, at the 6:02 mark you can see how fast bruce lee really was when he grabs dude shoulder! And these characters were way before atari, sega genesis and other electronic games
Don't know what Bruce Lee's insane speed has to do with electronic games, but technically Atari existed as a company already in 1972 and had their Pong arcade game out. They just hadn't released the famous Atari 2600 home system yet. The Magnavox Odyssey was also out in 1972.
