More than 20 years after seeing this in theaters it's still incredible and I haven't seen anything quite like it since. Everything opens with his opponent getting stomped to the floor in some way that would end a street fight instantly. A lot of it is how muay thai moves but Tony Jaa always has such huge momentum in all of his movements in Ong Bak, and such intensity especially when "it's on" and he just drops stance entirely with efficient and effective minimal defensive movements. These early scenes were more relaxed but he can be terrifying and awesome in Ong Bak in a way I personally think second only to Bruce Lee and in perfect balance (later movies they have him way over the top). I love how in the film they don't send anyone flying on ropes, but elbows and knees are legitimately the tools for how a smaller guy would drop a giant.
