  • Hi everyone! This plant is one of the first things my husband ever gave me. After many years, I'm finally pruning & transplanting it. Thank you so much for stopping by. :)

36 years old! Thats awesome! I found a 3 steamed dracaena plant at the side of the road with not pot, just laying on its side this past spring. Its about 7 feet tall. I potted it and had it outside tied up to our siding. Well, here in southern Ontario it was time to bring it in or cut it down. Our ceiling is about 7 ft tall in our 1000 square foot home. I finally decided to not cut it down and I placed it in a corner of my bedroom with fairy lights yesterday. I absolutely love it there!!! I'm so glad I found it at the side of the road!! One mans garbage really can be another mans treasure! I'm curios how old this one is.

That is such a nice story. You saved the dracaena!😊🙌 They certainly are a strong plant. I bet it looks beautiful with the fairy lights. 😊

I have a ~28 year old one that belonged to my brother and has been severely neglected for probably two decades. I've pruned it and it grew again, the leaves look so much better now as well. Three years later and I actually have a lot of love for it.
What worried me was the very thin stem(? my English isn't the best), but seeing yours isn't much thicker made me relax a little bit.
It does need to be repotted again, which I'm looking to do this week. Thanks for the video!

Once I trimmed it, the mother plant looks much healthier. It quickly pushed new growth. So glad I did it. Your English is great! 😃

I just filmed the backyard garden tour and I forgot to include that. I will definitely give ya'll an update the next time we film. The (mother) plant has several new growth points. So exciting to see that. The four stems that I replanted are alive... but could look healthier. Thank you for asking and watching! :)

Thank you.😊 Three of them did well for awhile. I lost one immediately and the other 2 I lost before the holidays. It was completely my fault. I overwatered them. I still have one that has 3 new growth areas. Not the success I was hoping for. A learning experience for certain. The mother plant is doing well.😊

How do I get it to stop making chutes after I chop off a branch?

That dracaena could actually be in full sun and they’ll appreciate it a lot. They’re heat and drought tolerant and when in stress (not a bad thing) they get a red tint I believe and they’re Beautiful I’m also 99% sure they’re succulents native to Madagascar

Hi, I live in zone 9/9b central California. For the last 20 years I’ve had it outside on our back patio that’s full shade. 😃
