The lottienat brain rot is so real. It starts with bickering and a tub and the next second you’ve read 250 fics and your brain chemistry has been forever altered
I think Travis is struggling getting sexually assaulted by the girls being led by Lottie during Doomcoming. They realize they were all high and not acting in their right minds, but Travis still has the unresolved trauma. He doesn't know how to feel about Lottie because on one hand, she helps him spiritually. On the other, she tried to murder-rape him.
Some things: • One of the prevailing ideas is the Underworld and eating food there. It's based on the Greek myth of Persephone, who got trapped in the afterlife after eating pomegranate there. Lottie's vision was her going into the Underworld and Laura Lee saved her by stopping her from eating the Chinese food. Jackie drank the hot chocolate, which is why she froze to death. I also think Nat had a glimpse when she ate hallucinogens in the pilot episode. But because she wasn't near death, she only had a brief vision of the future. I think if we get a flashback of Travis' perspective when he dies, we'll find out he ate or drank something. • I felt really bad for Nat when they lose the moose. No wonder she's so fucked up. She has all this survivor's guilt from not being able to feed everyone, resulting in the cannibalism. • It wouldn't surprise me at all to find out Shauna has killed other people since returning from the wilderness. Misty, too. • Mari literally and figuratively stirs the pot. It's hilarious how much of a little shit she can be. • After the reveal of Van being alive, we narrow down the survivors at the feast in the first episode. At this point in the series, I thought Lottie was in the middle with the antlers, Tai, Travis, and Van are to her left with Shauna to her right. There's still two more survivors next to Shauna, with Misty off-screen preparing the food.

Can't wait to watch the rest of the season with you! A couple of things I can say that aren't spoiler-y. Yes, you're right about the deck of cards missing the queens. Remember what Travis said to Lottie before he died. He believed that if he got as close to death as possible, he could talk to "the wilderness." He said to Lottie, "When Van almost died out there, when you did, you both saw something..." This episode is what he was talking about when he said that. Lottie had a vision when she almost froze to death. Van told Taissa in an earlier episode that she saw something after the wolf attack when she "somewhere in between" alive and dead. We don't know what she saw but she saw something. We saw Jackie's vision as she was freezing to death in the season one finale. Just food for thought.
imo ben is one of the saddest character arches. he was closeted his whole life and chose what he felt was safe over what he truly wanted because of societal persecution and then ended up dying in the woods with a bunch of teenage girls he resented. don"t get me wrong i love the team and the girls (except mari) but they are still teenage girls, i don"t think any of us would want to be deserted with a bunch of gen alpha teens. his flashback scenes always make me so sad.

I think everybody is entitled to their own opinion and mine just happens to be that lottie is a layered and interesting character. what exactly makes her or mari (who literally has like 2 lines every episode) that horrible for you personally? in a show centered around *female* characters, rage and violence inflected through trauma you will always catch me rooting for those *female* characters, which means I do not really give two cents about the male character in the scenario. I don't hate ben, I just think his storyline took up too much space in the season (:
