Slovenian Tadej Pogacar of UAE Team Emirates went on the attack in the yellow jersey on stage 17 of the 2021 Tour de France, with only Jonas Vingegaard of Jumbo-Visma and Richard Carapaz able to follow the stinging attacks from the race leader before he took the stage win atop the Col du Portet.

Just rode the Col du Portet two weeks ago. This climb is madness! The first six kilometers are so steep, averaging around 10%. If you cross a small village called Soulan it gets a little bit better from the percentage, but than the sun and the altitude is starting to bite. Definately nothing for beginners but it`s so much fun! If you can climb you have to try this mountain someday!

@Uzi Totally agree. A really dirty move imo. He needed the extra seconds just as much as Vingegaard, and certainly more than Pogacar. But he knew if he just kept bluffing, the other two would take the leads. Fortunately, he didn´t get anything out of it in the end. What an effort by Vingegaard.
