Real explanations for him losing the Tour are: - He struggles in hot weather conditions (The tour was exeptionally hot with temperatures of 35-40°C) - He struggles at high altitude (as seen on Col du Granon and also Col de la Loze in 2020) - He isnt as good on very long steep climbs as Vingegaard (as seen on Col du Granon and Hautacam and also seen on Col de la Loze in 2020) - His team was much weaker compared to Jumbo Visma who could just send satellite riders in break aways (like Laporte and Wout van Aert on stage 11) and also had Roglic as a second GC threat that Pogacar had to take serious on stage 11 - Tactical mistakes on stage 11 where he spent too much on Galibier - Maybe also nutrition issues where couldnt eat and drink correctly because he was isolated from his team car and team mates between Galibier and Granon - After being behind he always had to be on the attack with Jonas just sitting in the wheel so he struggled in the final stages because he had to do higher efforts compared to Jonas
Everyone pronounces it differently. The two most common are 'Tah-day' and 'Tah-dee'. Phil Liggett and Bob Roll and Slovenian fans insist it's 'Tah-dee', but most cycling talking heads pronounce it 'Tah-day'.
Love "The ❤️ POG" , I've known his former manager Alan Pieper from Melbourne for decades 😀, Tadjer is from another planet, so exciting to watch , in his future career could he surpass Eddie Merck?? Watch this space 😊
He certainly can be, his main issue for that goal is that Tour de France is THE race. You cant be on Merckx levels and not win the tour. Personally i think he needs to ride a bit fewer races before the tour and be more fresh. But that said given Vingegaard injury this year might be his best chance at taking a “free” tour and win all 3 grand tours. Exiting times in cycling.
I cant remember what tour de france it was all i know is that it was between 2020 and 2022 - on one of the stages pogacar got dropped by everyone including the pelaton and it looked like he was gling to give up and then he suddenely just switched on and managed to come from the back of the pelaton all the way to the leading group of the race, passing all the gc riders as if it was nothing. It was magical and hilarious to see the gc riders faces as they steuggles up the hill and watched helplessly as pogacar easily passed and dropped them as if it was nothing at all. If anyone knows which tour it was or has a video of it i would really appreciate it if you could let me know as this is probably one of my favourite cycljng moments of all time
9:18 the reason why jonas vingegaard drop tadej pogačar 1 minute is because they attack him 1,2 on the climb until he ran out of gas later in the race. not because he was weaker than jonas or jonas stronger than him, i think they are on par he was just beaten by teamwork in that race. tadej pogačar raced that race like a solo rider without teammate infront while jonas had plenty help but kuddos to jonas he is a strong cyclist. pogačar will win that gc if they havent done that 1,2 attack
I hate the false narrativization of Tour 2020. Nobody thought or believed that Pogačar was a favourite, nevermind that he was going to win it, literally until he took the GC lead. Yet the video would have us believe this has been an epic battle between Roglič and Pogačar from the start, when it wasn't. Also forgets to mention that Tour of Slovenia is not on the level of WT 1 week races. Sure, he won, and as a Slovenian it was great seeing him race the home roads, but the competition were goddamn kids in comparison. And he also made it clear he's not doing Paris-Roubaix this year. Pretty terrible to leave that out.
Well nobody thought that he would win but it became very clear in 2020 thet he will be the future. Pogacar lost 1.28 early on on stage 7 due to being inexperienced and getting cought in a crosswind losing the main peloton. Yet on the last Stage he was only 57 Seconds behind Roglic . So from Stage 7 to Stage 19 he chopped off 31 Seconds of Roglic and everyone else in the Mountain stages and nobody let him go.... You dont let someone who is 1.28 away from first place go away on the Mountains (You let people go who are 7 minutes down.... not 1.28). It was simply that even with Team effort Jumbo could not prevent him from chopping off seconds on the bigger mountain stages. So it was pretty clear that Pogacar was indeed the strongest rider in 2020 to anyone who had followed the TDF 2020. It was just that nobody though he would win 57 seconds in the TT. I thought he would maybe be 10-15 seconds faster than Roglic since he won the National TT vs Roglic before and it was clear he was a bit faster than roglic in TT.
The Tour of Basque Country can hardly be considered a true blip. He had been riding as domestique to McNulty who was leading the race, probably as some payback and pay forward for a domestique whose services he would require at other times, but then had to chase from a losing position when McNulty cracked and he had to go after a podium result himself. His 3rd here can not be strictly viewed as being beaten by other riders as he was not racing for his personal victory, but was only high up as a result of being Tadej while riding for another. In the same vein, would you decry Mørkøv not winning a sprint when he drives on the front to lead out his Quickstep teammate, but often still gets top ten... then gets asked to go for the sprint himself when his sprinter gets disconnected or punctures in the run for the finish and then team has to salvage an option for a result? Think of Basque Country in a similar vein where Tadej was sacrificing his chances to win, working for another, but then had to change plans and recover something from a compromised position when McNulty cracked.
1:03 Legends? Egan Bernal and Nara Quintana are doping heroes. Welcome to THAT club. When a rise is unbeliveable, doping is just around the corner. They all do it.
A nice overview with a couple of missing highlights - such as a gentelmen's handshake after his fall and Vingegaard's pause for him. But come on - haven't you learned how to say his name?! It's Tadey or Tadei - you can hear it numerous times everyday on TV when he's racing!
While technically correct, the achievement “becoming the first rider to win the yellow, polkadot and white jersey” isn’t truly unique from a competitive point of view. The white jersey was only implemented in 1975. Six years prior to that, Merckx participated in his first TdF and won. In addition, he won the green and polkadot jersey. As he was 24, he would have also won the white jersey had it existed. Insane achievement nevertheless and a good videi. Pogacar is already one of the best of all time and he is still only 24.
Please do your Research on the ponounciation of the names. Its just disrespectful to say his Name wrong like 20 times. Not That Hard to Look it up before Recording in times of the Internet.
Tbh if TDF was in juli in 2020 then Roglic would probably had won because he would have a bigger gap going into the TT. Tadej doesnt perform well under hot conditions as seen in 2021, 2022 and this year
The only man capable of winning Paris-Roubaix without actually appearing on startlist is Chuck Norris. Tadej said that perhaps, at the end of career, conditioned on previously having won MSR, he COULD try PR, but would have to gain a few kilos and strenghten his arms.
Making this video but pronouncing his name wrong the entire time despite commentators pronouncing it correctly in multiple clips shows lack of research and attention to detail. Couldn't even watch the rest of the video hearing you call him "Tadesh" over and over

You claim that Vingo was stronger from Pogi in last year TDF. Don't spread false information, plz. Pogi lost TDF 2022 in one day and for one reason only: in stage 11 he was chasing four riders of JV in the valley, instead of sticking only to Vingo. That was a bit naive. Plus he pulled Vingo on top of first hill, also naively. Plus he didn't drink or eat the whole time. Plus having no support from UAE. Vingo on the other hand was wet nannied by WVA and took advantage on Granon. Race was effectvely over then and there. Pogi lost but it took five man to beat him. This year it will be another story. I'm a new fan of cycling so maybe I missed something, but do people really think he's clean? Do people secretly accept he's almost certainly doping but its ok because everyone else is too? Pogacar, Vingegaard, etc are crushing stats that cyclists who were proven to be up to their eyeballs on PEDs set... Something isn't adding up...
People that know professional cycling know most cyclists, even at the high amateur level, use PED's, but fair weather fans hopping on the Pogacar train will get angry if you even float the accusation. Don't disparage their heroes or they will trigger. I think the insinuation that he alone is doping is wrong, but to think he's totally clean is naive AF. That most cyclists do doping, however, does not mean that some don't do it better than others. Gaming the system is a science.
You did an in-depth video on a guy and you don't even know how to pronounce his name. Look, the Slovenian "j" in Tadej is the same as an English "y". - He isnt as good on very long steep climbs as Vingegaard (as seen on Col du Granon and Hautacam and also seen on Col de la Loze in 2020)
- His team was much weaker compared to Jumbo Visma who could just send satellite riders in break aways (like Laporte and Wout van Aert on stage 11) and also had Roglic as a second GC threat that Pogacar had to take serious on stage 11
- Tactical mistakes on stage 11 where he spent too much on Galibier
- Maybe also nutrition issues where couldnt eat and drink correctly because he was isolated from his team car and team mates between Galibier and Granon
- After being behind he always had to be on the attack with Jonas just sitting in the wheel so he struggled in the final stages because he had to do higher efforts compared to Jonas
Roglic?
@@bigromelu8727 what about him?
I really tried to find some likeness in the thumbnail image, but it really looks nothing like him
Awesome video, thank you! Small note, afaik his name is pronounced more like "tah-day", not "tahdesh".
So incredible that one guy can win grand tours and also classics like Flangers
Flangers 😌 my favourite race after Stereo Berlingo
I cant remember what tour de france it was all i know is that it was between 2020 and 2022 - on one of the stages pogacar got dropped by everyone including the pelaton and it looked like he was gling to give up and then he suddenely just switched on and managed to come from the back of the pelaton all the way to the leading group of the race, passing all the gc riders as if it was nothing. It was magical and hilarious to see the gc riders faces as they steuggles up the hill and watched helplessly as pogacar easily passed and dropped them as if it was nothing at all. If anyone knows which tour it was or has a video of it i would really appreciate it if you could let me know as this is probably one of my favourite cycljng moments of all time
top shelf production,
Thank you!
He made again, what a CHAMPION!
He's gonna have some great battles in future TDF with Vingegaard and Evenepoel !
Some things you are saying in the video makes me think you never watch any cycling races. This feels like my mom is reading a Wikipedia page.
Thanks 🙏🏼
UAE was not much help for Pogacar in the TDF. It was Jumbo vs Pogacar
In 2023 it was UAE vs Vingegaard. King Vingegaard won.
His name is Tadej, TA-DAY, not TA-DESH. Really?!
Sorry!
Who is the guy on thumbnail?
9:18 the reason why jonas vingegaard drop tadej pogačar 1 minute is because they attack him 1,2 on the climb until he ran out of gas later in the race. not because he was weaker than jonas or jonas stronger than him, i think they are on par he was just beaten by teamwork in that race. tadej pogačar raced that race like a solo rider without teammate infront while jonas had plenty help but kuddos to jonas he is a strong cyclist. pogačar will win that gc if they havent done that 1,2 attack
Then why was he also dropped on Mont Vent Toux?
Why did he lose in 2023?
Is he clean? How many random tests per year?
@@lordad He didn‘t loose time due to inexperience. He had a mechanical at the start of the crosswind section if I remember it correctly. 😅
Great video! but don't forget team tactics play a big role in races.
Yeah some teams have really great chemistry
@@Dyoochoob And money.
@ElSantoLuchador - well, yes, great chemistry doesn't come cheap.
Bro what the hell is this thumbnail
good video
Thank you!
The thumbnail pictures on these videos never look anything like the actual rider in the video
1:03 Legends? Egan Bernal and Nara Quintana are doping heroes. Welcome to THAT club. When a rise is unbeliveable, doping is just around the corner. They all do it.
Ta-Dash is really fast.
Tornado Tadej is a phenomenal call from that commentator lol
what is that thumbnail ?! lol!!
Who's picture is this? This is not Tadej...so weird.
Unbelievable is certainly correct and I don't men that in a good way. He just hasn't been caught.
A nice overview with a couple of missing highlights - such as a gentelmen's handshake after his fall and Vingegaard's pause for him.
But come on - haven't you learned how to say his name?! It's Tadey or Tadei - you can hear it numerous times everyday on TV when he's racing!
Super Schiavone!🎉
Who is Taddetsch?
While technically correct, the achievement “becoming the first rider to win the yellow, polkadot and white jersey” isn’t truly unique from a competitive point of view. The white jersey was only implemented in 1975.
Six years prior to that, Merckx participated in his first TdF and won. In addition, he won the green and polkadot jersey. As he was 24, he would have also won the white jersey had it existed.
Insane achievement nevertheless and a good videi. Pogacar is already one of the best of all time and he is still only 24.
what are these thumbnails?
Really good video
But the pronunciation of the names..
Just a quick note, its not pronounced Tade(zh) or (sh) but the 'J' is said like Y in yo or yolk or yawn for example.
Ow guys comon, pogacar alreddy 4 years a big star in cycling!
wait people are hating on him for crushing everyone? tadej king take all of their energy
Tadej doesnt perform well under hot conditions as seen in 2021, 2022 and this year
Roglic sort of got the karma back by taking the gc lead in the Giro this year
I cringe every time they mispronounce his name. He is not Tadež
Yes, it sounds awful.
Sorry!
@@TrueSportsLore Try “tadey”, much better…
Great rider and i hope he is not a second Lance Armstrong.
He is, but the question is whether or not he will ever be 'caught' like Armstrong
@@OxygeneAirTime Yes, but if he behaves like a nice guy until he gets caught, he can keep the titles he won.
My. super 🌟 star 💫💫 in. cycling pliz can. we. be friends Tadej Pobacar 😢😮
This is he's era.
lol ...that's when vinge need to retire early??? hahahha
You make video of pogacar and start video by mispronouncing
Pogacar.
Wow
The only man capable of winning Paris-Roubaix without actually appearing on startlist is Chuck Norris. Tadej said that perhaps, at the end of career, conditioned on previously having won MSR, he COULD try PR, but would have to gain a few kilos and strenghten his arms.
Not true I believe Chuck won on a stationary bike
@@keithmitchell8271 thank you for this, I lol’d on that one!
unbelievable rise usually means believable means, esp when the team is built off the backs of proven shady characters
Sad but true. He is the new Armstrong in all regards.
Making this video but pronouncing his name wrong the entire time despite commentators pronouncing it correctly in multiple clips shows lack of research and attention to detail. Couldn't even watch the rest of the video hearing you call him "Tadesh" over and over
I liked the word, "However" was sneaked in the commentary.
One comment. If you see J in names that are from any slavic speaking countries don't pronounce it like in english. Slavic J is like Y in word Yes.
Thank you Jernej, sorry for the mistake!
Will he return to out race Vingegard.... All eyes will be watching.
no turning back.. that danish is an alien
Pogacar isn't down to ride this weekends Paris - Roubaix
Is no one asking questions ? I think you should. I remember the miracle called Armstrong.
good video, but i cringed every time you pronounced his name wrong, you put highlights in your own video where commentators pronounced it correctly, yet you pronounce it "tadež", why? xd
Got the wrong pronunciation stuck in my head. Apologies!
This year you will see real Tadej Pogacar!! One on one Pogi was and is the best rider, full stop.
Nice video, by the way.
Tadej has an adorable baby face... why drawing him with a psychopath face in the thumbnail?. The drawer has a toxic idea about masculinity (an incel?)
Good video overall, but check some of your facts please. Tadej is not the youngest winner of TDF.
my man straight did a vid about the dude and not once checked how to fucking pronounce the name its Tah-Day
It's going to be a scream when it all comes out, the Truth!
@@rik_v4285 No you misunderstood, i don't give a flying fuck either way!
He’s on the best doping cycle in the tour
You forgot his win in La Doyenne
We're planning on doing follow up videos about his monument hunting. This was more focused around his Tour de France dominance. Did you enjoy the video otherwise?
@@TrueSportsLore Yess. I was just wondering why you skipped it
No mistakes will be made this 2023 tdf tadej will once dominate little jonas
Pogiboy has almost completed cycling for 80% i can say
Everyone hates the fact that the guy from Slovenia is the biggest beast.
In the group of everyone probably you are aline😂😂😂😂😂
why do you call him tadesch????😭😭
He also won Tour of California🫡
Would have been a thumbs up, but you include references to the great pretender Armstrong 👎
Robot voice over?
Hi Ivan, it's kind you think my voice over is a robot, however I'm very much human!
@@TrueSportsLore lol, sorry 😅. I thought it sounded quite normal first but then “Tad edge” moment happened… The last name actually sounded very well (some experts and voice engines still say “POgaKar” :)).
If you are going to make a video of someone, the MOST important thing is to be able to pronounce that person's name correctly. It's Tadej, not Tadesh!!!
Never heard the indian verison of his name before.. Tadesh!
Look, the Slovenian "j" in Tadej is the same as an
English "y". So, it really ain't rocket science to get it right. I get the feeling that some people deliberately do this because they are so envious that it is the only way they can cope with TP's success.
Great comment man! 😃😄😄 I totaly agree whit you! Greatings from sLOVEnija👋👋
Yeah I agree but that last sentence wtf I don't think anyone does that.
@@surreal7963 If you know how someone's name is pronounced what reason would you have other than trying to belittling them by saying it in a bizarre way? Every cycling sports commentator says "Tadey" but somehow you want to say it differently? Anyone who knows anything about cycling knows that the "j" in Alejandro Valverde is pronounced like a "h". So, if you do a video on Alejandro Valverde and you keep using the English "j", either you are a moron or you are trying take the piss out of him.
He doesn't ride Roubaix.
Hopefully WvA, Ganna, MvdP etc will make it one to remember!
i don't think he will win roubaix!
he was and has shown again that he is by far the strongest when it comes to endurance and hills but not close to explosive enough to attack on a flat race or wint in a group sprint!
and also there will be a lot more opponents then only Wout and Mathieu, also Kristof ,Degenkolb,... and even some names you nearly never hear of can win there
And Pogacar is not actualy the best when it comes to technical courses and Paris-Roubiax is very technical.
WTF is with the thumbnail?
