This is the only dynasty whose decline we are witnessing steadily. Most of the 8 dynasties in the modern era ended abruptly. Shaq was traded, Jordan retired, Pippen traded, LeBron left Miami, Magic HIV, Bird's back and decline etc. With Tim, even though the Spurs didn't ever dominate back to back, they always made the playoffs while Tim was there. Even though Kawhi, Tony and Manu were still there, everyone knew it was over once Tim retired. GSW still has their superstar playing at the highest level.

Steph changed the game forever. The dubs aren't winning anything this year but I think they actually have a small shot at another one as long as Steph is Steph and some of their young pieces continue to grow, they stay healthy, and get some luck. I can see Kuminga being an all-star in 2 years. Also, Wiggins heavily underperformed end of last year and this year so far, but looks like he is turning it around. He is still young and can actually get better. Mark my words, you don't want to see the Warriors in the playoffs as long as Steph has a heartbeat.

The points raised early in this video speak to just how important developmental coaching is going to be in the next decade. Big teams need to be breaking the bank right now on player development coaches, scouting personnel, G-League facilities etc...
Developing your roster from the inside, instead of the outside will become crucial if you want to compete and bad roster decisions will live long in the memory if you don't have the ability to 'create' serviceable players.

The Warriors were “light years” ahead of other NBA franchises. They all-in tanked a season (worst record) to draft Anthony Edwards but ended up losing the lottery ping pong balls and getting #2 in James Wiseman. If Ant. Edwards were drafted by Warriors, the Warriors dynasty would have lasted another 10 seasons.

And I've not seen the offensive 3 seconds call in NBA for at least (hmmm I don't know when it was last called), this is a very common call in countries which plays according to FIBA rules.

Another Hoops Tank idea is that the winner of the IST should get to host the All star game. It would further incentivize small markets like OKC to really go for it in the tournament, and could create a culture around keeping the game “at home” for a fanbase if they get it a few years in a row.

Don't think GSW are challenging for a title this year. But they are starting to play better. There is some hope. Wiggins is starting to look like the 2022 version. Kuminga seems to have taken a leap. Brandon Pod is a great late first round rookie. Jackson-Davis is a rotation level NBA big and a great 2nd round find. Klay will likely be back at a much better salary number. Draymond seems to have settled down. They may be able to make a move at the deadline or in the off season to add another player. Their window is definitely closing, but they may have a year or two with some luck. Imagine if they had drafted Halliburton instead of Wiseman, then they are like the Spurs with Kwahi.

So after 60s Celtics, imho, these have been real dynasties, by those criteria:
      80s Magic Lakers
      80s Bird Celtics
      90s MJ Bulls
      2000 Shaq/Kobe Lakers

There was an implication that the Nuggets and Suns are in the same boat and will have to pivot to better drafting to going forward. The Nuggets have all their picks and have been the model of draft and develop. The Nuggets have the best chance of sustaining the next wave of the modern dynasty. The new cap rules actually pull larger market super teams back down to the playing field that teams like Denver, Sacramento, Minnesota, etc have always had to play on.

CP3 is their oldest player.. and if you look at their top 4 players (Steph, CP3, Klay, Dramyond).. 3 of them are heavily slowed down because of their age. So your argument is just as Klay. Washed.

And Kuminga 2024 is way better than Kuminga 2022. So it's frustrating that they are not competing for a title now.

You can’t rule out age. Klay and Draymond spent the first few months of the season raging against the dying of the light. And as good as Steph still is, he’s not playing as well as he did at his apex.

I keep wondering when Golden State fans are going to consider the fact that a half dozen other teams got better while they stayed the same or got slightly worse due to age. Maybe when they either don't make the playoffs or get bounced in the play in tournaments it will occur to some of them.

People are saying it's sad what the warriors has become when it is exactly the opposite. MJ was pissed that Jerry wanted to blowout the team even though they have won a championship. MJ wanted to keep on playing with that roster until they lose. He wanted the decision to blowout the team would happen on the court. Meanwhile you got to give respect to the front office of the Warriors to let Klay and Dray to keep on playing even though they are not the same player they was once. They have earned the right to make the decision to end their era on the court and kudos to the front office for allowing them to do so. And now they are in the point that they cannot win with their current line up and they should be traded at this point in time but that doesn't mean it's disrespectful because Klay and Dray gave them 4 rings. It is just time to move on, simple as that. And they should be celebrated by every basketball fans for giving us one of the greatest basketball until it last.

With all due respect to JJ and other media members. The fact that Giannis isn't even mentioned in the MVP race whatsoever while having one of the most historic NBA seasons ever, really shows to me that his play is no longer respected or appreciated like it should or used to be. Not that he wasn't constantly disrespected before. I'm guessing Shai will win the MVP this season as of now

Sadly we know voter fatigue is a real thing, so I wouldn't touch Jokic either to win MVP which is a shame because both of them have been balling out this year and if they didn't already hit the "glass ceiling" of two MVPs they would both be in the discussion more. That being said, the Giannis disrespect is real.

A reason dynasty’s will be hard to come across again is because of teams & players giving up too quickly.
Yes, some dynasty’s worked well off the back. Miami big 3: played 4 seasons together, made it to 4 finals all 4 seasons.
But not every dynasty work that way, warriors for example.
(I don’t feel like doing research, so imma just guest their draft year here) steph was drafted in ‘09. Klay and draymond was drafted in 2010. It took them 5 years to make it to the finals & start their dynasty run.
I feel like some teams & players have a win & win NOW mindset. If they don’t win in 1-3 seasons together, a star player requesting a trade, or the team trading a star player.
My mind going blank rn, so I can’t think of teams to give example. But imma say the nets. KD, harden & kyrie could’ve been something special. But they didn’t stay bc they gave up quickly due to injuries & kyrie missing games.

Can you talk about just how good siakam has been for the pacers?
Since having his first practice with the team hes averaging:
25-8-6 with only 1 turnover on 63/50/75 shooting splits in only 32 mpg, hes a +56 and the pacers are 3-1 over that span.
He ended the sixers 6 game win streak, the suns 7 game win streak, the grizzlies 4 game win streak and his only loss was a 5 point loss in boston.. all Without haliburton...

I vividly remember JJ saying he wouldn't bet against a healthy gsw team, then proceeded to bet against them in the finals against Boston so take that with a grain of salt when he says he would never bet against steph 😂

Warriors are still in a reasonably good position. They have 2 very large expiring contracts--Klay at 42M per year and CP3 at 32. If they just don't sign them that liberates enough money to go after 2 high-level free agents. Even if they renegotiate Thompson's contract to something under 20M that's shedding 54M in salary.

    • @noname-ue7lb
      @noname-ue7lb 4 месяца назад +1

That's actually not how it works. If they let klay go they can't just use that 44 mil with the new cba the warriors can't just still spend 186 mil in tax like they have. I don't know the specifics but I know they need to keep klay and pay him the 18-23 mil a year he's really worth. Dray is worth more at 25 so klay needs to accept less than that. If he doesn't want that he, doesn't deserve the NBA. The warriors made him and fans would hate him if he went to play the rest of a shitty career for any team. He needs to stay a dub and accept less than what they already offered him. If he doesn't, he will never sell another jersey. He should have taken 48 for two seasons!!! Cp3 is another story. I personally think the dubs will change nothing and try and make it work next season with all the new guys. Curry still had at least 3 high level seasons and I think the front office hopefully won't panic and sell out their young guys to try and make a run this season. With jk, moody, BP, tjd, they have a bright future and it would be a shame if they throw that away for an already likely ruined season. They should try and make the play-in and hope nobody gets seriously injured.
