What do you think of the Offshore Diver? What are your favorite luxury dive watches that go luxury first but don't sacrifice on the diver side either? Let me know in the comments!
It's a great watch. Like the Sub there are some *incredibly* good fakes made in China. The lug-to-lug is too much for a wrist under 7". The 3120 base movements (diver and chrono) are prone to ejecting the crown and crown stem, it's held onto the watch by a very small set screw. If yours comes off the watch, do NOT try to put it back yourself, take it to AP or a very good watchmaker.
The Aston I can’t speak for (though arguably at the time it would have counted as a performance car?) but the sub in the 60s and 70s when Bond wore it was still very much a tool watch that put function first over everything, and its pricing at that time while not cheap was still far off where they’re positioned today. But none of that is to say the Sub for example is a worse off watch for that, only that it was a purposeful watch that over time was made more luxurious while the Offshore is the result of a luxury watch being given a new purpose :)

This was a very good review. I own the first AP scuba and it’s my favorite watch! Much thinner than the Offshore chronographs as well.
it's suit for wrist 16.5mm?
The new Zenith Defy Extreme Diver I believe was designed as a luxury item first and a tool second.

I wonder if with the new movement they put on this if they rectified the crown issue 🤔
why James Bond drove a DB 5 and weare a Sub? because they where just tool objects?
