Recently got a solid case back as well. I absolutely love mine. The perfect daily AP. So simple yet beautiful. I use to daily a submariner and now it sits in a watch box collecting dust lol.
Can't go wrong with the Diver. Some people say it's boring but it's such a versatile AP. Glad you got one back. Keen to find out the story behind the red band...
Eric, would love to see you do some videos of some more easy to get / more affordable pieces such as Omega. Any thoughts on the Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra Worldtimer? Great work as always. Keep it up!!
I love this watch I had one in titanium but sold it, I have regreted it every day, but found another in steel. I wear it every day, it's heavy and built like a tank but it's a keeper.
Can’t believe how nice of a job they did on refinishing the bezel. I’ve seen so many that are destroyed by attempts to restore that crisp AP finish ☝🏻🥴
I absolutely love this piece, especially for the price you paid. I have a varied collection but prefer larger watches, owning a DSSD and two Panerai's (44 and a 45mm). I would love a white dial AP 15710ST but new they're over $21k and now selling for $25k from online dealers. For that price there's a lot of other pieces to choose from. Congrats on the pickup!!
The problem with the white dial version (A010) is that the white strap gets dirty and stains fast. I am contemplating on changing it to the dark blue strap that came with the watch. Otherwise, it’s a really beautiful watch. The see though caseback is also very nice as it showcases the beautifully finished Caliber 3120.
@@Cutekid69 ..haha.. I did the reverse ... i had mine from AP Boutique in Las Vegas. I had them change it to the dark blue dial immediately. After 2 years of hard wearing, i was itching for a change. Got the Strap change out for free in Ap boutique in singapore to my original white strap. It's a totally new look and experince.. a hell lot louder..
@@richardyeoh812 did you see the new divers? New movement, new quick release straps. But. They changed the hour markers on the dial to blocky fat rectangles instead of the more classic double hash and thin elegant lines on the older Divers.
Hi..offshore diver forged carbon is top timepices, can You tell me your opinion which is bether by your tase :carbon diver or stainles steel diver..is it big diference in weight?
I'm not a huge fan of the Genta design watches but in this configuration I could see myself wearing one. Since you seem to be in need of a beater watch I'd say this one is a keeper. Wear it in good health Eric.
recently sold my black ceramic diver for a good profit. they are skyrocketing right now, but I needed the money... definitely a super cool watch, one of the best APs
I knew those AP divers, I find them very atractive. Specially that black dial, black rubber one. As Leonardo DaVinci usted to say, sometimes the most simple gives the most satisfaction. I personally wouldn´t change anything in the design of that watch, except of some functional aspects that you mentioned. Congratulations on another excelent video Eric!
Have the clear case back version but switched the strap to the tapered AP rubber strap with the 20mm buckle. BEST decision ever. The 24mm buckle that came with it felt too big and dug into my wrist. The 20mm buckle has no issue and feels much more comfortable and aesthetically looks better.
Would have love to see the before and after before you go it polished? Did you take pics of the before and whose your guy that polishes it, may need a few pieces polished. They did a great job
I like it a lot but the white dial version. My beater is the Montoya Titanium, not as scratch magnet and a way more reliable JLC movement! Nice video!!!
Eric - your video nailed it for me and I went ahead and grabbed a 15703ST diver for myself for a daily beater. The 26400RO & 26470OR’s are great, but I am always concerned to just wear them daily, so this diver fits the Bill perfectly! And agree on the fact that the multi colored and material variants just don’t do it for me like the simple black does! Great review and thanks for everything you do!
Love the AP driver; super cool! Have you ever seen the full rose gold version?...worth checking that out too. Great content Eric thanks for the channel!
I have the same watch with the sapphire back... wear it in the pool, shower, every day... the rubber strap is very comfortable, and it's a unique look... would take it over any Rolex any day
Great video Eric. I love this watch too. BUT with the exhibition case back. It’s GORGEOUS!! Can you tell me what the model number is for that one please?? What years was the exhibition case back model available?
Keep it on rubber and it's a daily beater, switch it to a brown or black hornback and it's a dress piece, put it on a grey alcantara and you get a sporty driver's watch.
I remember your previous video about it and I looked at it and AP before getting a Rolex GMT-Master II. I initially was introduced to the AP Royal Oak Offshore with your 'Watch Your Style' videos with CRM. I liked the 44mm ROO as they had oblong ceramic chrono pushers and bezel. I liked the fluorescent coloured ones, which were Boutique-only and were released over two successive Baselworlds: 2015 and 2016 with the Chrono-Diver. They look higher quality and more distinctive than a Submariner, in the same way it looks more higher end than a Tudor Pelagos. The 42mm Royal Oak Offshore only had steel bezels, like your first AP from your recent video: the 'Safari.' They have mega-tapiesserie/ 'waffle' dials. It just looks more exclusive than a Submariner, which everyone has. The dial is very legible which I look for in a watch. Watches of Switzerland is an Authorised Dealer, whereas they weren't when I looked back in 2017 and it was Rox Diamonds in Glasgow, Scotland, who I called and they had to be ordered as there weren't any made yet, this was the 44mm Titanium or Ceramic case models, with delivery in April. They were £16.5K or nearly £17K a brand new AP RO Offshore 42mm diver in Watches of Switzerland in Autumn 2019. They have brought smaller models out and I follow the Prague AP Boutique and the manager and one of the staff on Instagram: instagram.com/kirill_krjukov?igshid=jii2idn93978 instagram.com/jakub_pragueboutique?igshid=2ay4sp7j1wch
I like the offset crown. I also like the helium escape crown on the Omega Seamaster 300M. I’m probably the only person on earth that hopes that Omega keeps it in future models. It’s a super sporty look that gives the watches more character.
And the prices started going up after Eric released this vide 5 months back. Good luck trying to find a full set at USD20k. Thought it was undervalued because it’s basically AP’s answer to Patek’s Aquanaut. Basic, steel , rub er strap. Albeit biggerr and it’s actually a real diver watch. I did replace the rubber strap with the more tapered 20mm buckle version from the offshore chronos and it looked and felt way better on the wrist.
Buying the first generation at around its lowest (I purchased mine for 10,250) and holding it was probably one of the happiest accidents that I've had.
As a Special Edition .... My everyday watch is a 42 mm AP, RO, OS, Diver in Blue/Tangerine, White Gold and Stainless Steel with an Open Case Back, and when I bought it in 2018, it was a lot more expensive than 13.000,00 $ ....
Hey Eric - a request, I’m gonna keep hittin’ ya on this one - would love your review of the FP Journe Centigraphe Yellow Dial Titanium - mix it up a bit!!
Eric awesome watch, I would take it over an PP aquanaut any day, it is a real sports watch @ a real price. The tang buckle is big because it is a diver not a prissy watch, let it be. I could of bought the red boutique edition many years ago for peanuts but who knew? Enjoy it, the AP diver is one of few models that are still affordable and that you won’t be afraid to walk through a door without nicking it. Best, Jeff Long Island N.Y.
I like your videos Eric and I don't miss them. What is their opinion of the APs: Audemars Piguet Royal Oak 14790ST Military, Royal Oak Wempe dial and Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Dual Time Automatic 26120ST.OO.1220ST.02; are they rare? are they collectibles?
Great video Eric! I am looking for a 44mm RO offshore blue on rubber...prices are out of control! I will check the boutique in NYC to see if they even have one.
Hey Eric. Will AP replace the rubber down the road if it cracks and dries. I've been considering one of these for a long time, but I've already wondered about that. I wear my Sub like a beater and I would want to run this one hard too if I had it. Thanks!
Hi Erik! Time to get my first AP. I could get the black diver, 2020 with exhibition caseback or a 2017 Bumblebee (both full set and in supermint condition) Both at 20.5k Which one would you think is more desirable and holds it‘s value better? A quick hint would be appreciated! Cheers from the middle east
For many years, I wore mine practically 24/7 and with battle scars to boot. Awesome video and it just inspired me to put it on again.
Recently got a solid case back as well. I absolutely love mine. The perfect daily AP. So simple yet beautiful. I use to daily a submariner and now it sits in a watch box collecting dust lol.
I have this watch and I love it. The perfect AP to wear to the beach then out on the town for a long night with the boys.
Very versatile
I have the exact watch and love it. Very simple and elegant. The dial is beautiful. The off center second crown is unique and gives it it's character.
The off center crown is an Omega thing ;) But yes it is a really cool watch.
Thank you for outlining all these excellent arguments for the AP diver. Great video Eric.
The internal rotating bezel seals the deal for me, love at first sight & pull the trigger 5 yrs ago with the exhibition caseback & never look back 👍🏻
Copied from IWC Aquatimer
Didn’t know they made one with exhibition case back
Hey Eric it must be great feeling when you can admit that a watch, which is a holy grail for many is a beater for you 😎
Very true lol
