Had a ROO 42 which fit the wrist great 6 3/4 inch wrist. It was still a big watch on the wrist. I had it for a year and sold it. 1) the screw crown is not as good and have to be careful when pulling out 2) chrono had issues went for service and back then date changing was an issue. 3) rubber strap is good but the AP BUCKLE was too big and kept cutting into the skin 4) had to be really cautious not to ding the bezel as very hard to polish or reshape so everyday beater was not. If you never owned one it is a fun watch to have but nothing as good as a Rolex for everyday watch.
AP Royal Oak Offshore is for everyday use and you will have peace of mind especially strap problem. The AP Royal Oak metal is made for special occassions for me due to the strap problems in regards to its links. That is why I am going to becareful wearing them once got myself a new ones
I have a navy blue 42 mm offshore, along with 6 other watches, the offshore fills a very unique part of my collection being larger, on the rubber strap and failry sporty and having a certain look. It also gets some attention and i really enjoy looking down at it, the 43 dial is laid out better and with some of the new features is a more special watch with the ceramic bezel and pushers. Initially I wanted the rose gold or the black/steel but once I went to the AD the smoke taupe really hit the spot when I tried it on. It was far more impressive in person than in pics or vid. Am in process of buying one now. Rolex subs/gmt's are cool but a bit played out, AP is part of the future and will continue to be cool and stylish 20-30 years from now, very interesting pieces.
43mm Smoked dial is the one to grab! With changeable straps you can go black or taupe. The others are much more limited. (second I would go the grey ti version)
Ridah, they all look great on your wrist. The 6-9-12 chronos with Arabic numerals look really interesting. Did you get to see and try them at an AP boutique? Our local boutique here in US only has CODEs or Jules on hand
Go for the blue. It is beautiful and better daily wear where you don't have to worry too much. I think the other colors are nice too but blue will always be that classic color. I am looking forward to your video when you get it.
I’m not a huge fan of the Offshore, given its size.. but if you think it looks good then go for it! The blue’s a safe bet any day.. and i get what you said about scratching the 15500.. these offshores look wayy more durable.. i’d suggest going with a config that u like best and fits within your collection.. i know u have quite a few blue dials, so maybe factor that in to your choice as well! As usual, love the content and cant wait to see which one you end up picking!
Do it man, I’m a fan of bigger watches, my AP duo is the 41mm grey dial RO and the 44mm ceramic RO offshore with Rose gold hands and counters. The ceramic comes up lighter and smaller. I’ve hit the case on the fridge door, a metal door handle, dropped it in the bathroom on a tiled floor and not a mark. Same as my IWC BP PPC top gun. Ceramic is tougher than people think. The movement on the PPC mind, is less robust!
@@WatchSociety I’ll be rocking both of them in Ras Al Khaimah from Saturday for 10 days of vacation if you happen to be passing thru! Not at the same time mind…
Great video Ridah, look forward to seeing which watch scratches the ROO itch for you. One suggestion, and I'm sure you've mentioned it in other videos that I may have missed, but can you occasionally add your wrist size to the videos? It would give good context for the pictures and whether certain pieces would look similar on the viewers wrist. Keep up the good work.
I might have mentioned my wrist size and will sure do on upcoming videos. Strong thoughts of picking up the new offshore in titanium for a final AP 😆 thank you Mr. Kullar for your valuable input 🙏
Love the offshore to be honest. But rocking my avenger and Pam with pleasure. I would like the green offshore. Would be fun seeing you adding one to your collection. Titanium all the way, ceramic, naaa. Cheers bro
I would wait until the prices for the new 43 Offshores come down a bit. They are hot as hell right now, and AP is already working on special editions anyway. Edit: 5:53 The steel-ceramic (upper right) looks the best so far.
Hi ridah, this video exactly for me! I'm thinking exactly like u, been looking in the offshore in the last year . year Had the option to buy the 43 blue dial but I prefer the new 42 diver (without the chrono), I like the clean dial better. Hope I will able able get it next year. Anyway I want to off shore exactly for the same reason u are. Happy I'm not the only that wants to add another AP 😄😄 cheers mate and keep up the good work
Hey YoAD, we on the same boat! Never thought of the offshores before, never liked the size but AP did a really good job with the new curved cases on the 43 chronos, it actually wears and looks a lot smaller than the previous 44’s! I’ll keep you posted once it’s in and do a review on it as well.
@@WatchSociety yep! Definitely in the same boat. Had the rolex deep-sea before so I like the thickness. But as u said they did it deferent. If u will have the chance to put your hands on the 42 and make a review that would be awesome. Anyway hope both of us will join the offshore family asap. I'm aiming for the blue diver, but the green will be acceptable also 😄😄
I think the RO Black Panther prepared you for this bigger watch. You have the classics covered. Go Blue! Seems like the safer bet in terms of style but hey, you’re on the AP train now so build up your collection as you see fit and bring us all along for the ride!
@@WatchSociety I’m more into the RO Chronographs. The 38mm will be my next RO. I know it’s not an in house movement but it looks amazing, has a little more size but is still classic. But you’re right, the regular RO’s are just not that rugged. But that’s why we have Rolex! The Milgauss is playful 😝
@AllinherMovements 😂 😂 Why do even buy AP’s! For real, the 38 chrono is hot, wearable size even with the pushers. I went rogue listing my name for an offshore! Still cracking up about “thats why we have Rolexes”
This is my favorite watch at the moment because It looks big but wears small even wears smaller than an ap42 or RO if u compare lug to lug it wears exactly like a submariner in my opinion ro is a super delicate more for women because of the shinny bracelet watch and this is something which you can actually wear and enjoy..
I just got my ROO smoke taupe dial (featured in the video) from the AD. Just like you, ROO was never my favourite until this new fly back chronograph. Pull the trigger and go for it you are not going to regret it.
Congratulations Dave! The smoked brown dial is really nice too, I think these new releases will change the game for the offshore line. Can’t wait for the call ☎️
Hey Ahmed, most AP boutiques now have them on display ( not for sale 😂) hopefully it’ll come around and you’ll get a chance to see them in person. I can’t tell you, now, AP did a good job with the new offshores and you can’t go wrong with either! If weight is important to you then one of the titaniums could be a good option
@Watch Society yo Rida, today just had a chance to try the black steel one with black dial and red accents. It is stunning . Little big but wearable. I think it the most versatile version color wise and the most timeless one. I am surprised that I feel it is the most compelling version right now out of the lot.
Mate i know exactly what you mean. Never cared for the offshore and after owning a RO i got myself 44mm full ceramic piece chrono and it is the watch that i wear the most in my collection. It is not easy to make a big watch beautiful and AP knows how to work on great finishing on every aspect of the watch that makes the ROO beautiful and believe it or not sometimes understated! I would pick blue full titanium. It is cleaner and looks really nice and playful
❤️ Hey Shadi, well said brother! Something about there look, feel and weight of the new titanium in 43 that I just couldn’t resist! You’ve just confirmed my thought on it being a daily wearer. I can wait! 🙏
Hey man, this video brought up some very convincing points as to why I should buy one for myself. I'd go with the 42 gulf color way, the 43 is still too large and disruptive!
Ridah also has too many dark blue watch colorways ie batman, batgirl, the yellow gold smurf, it would be nice for him to go with the gulf as it’s different and more relatable to where he lives :)
I want the ceramic bezzle and like the smoked dial more, feels special, feels new 😍 I am waiting aswell right now to get this piece allocated. Fingers crossed🤞For me it would be the Perfect match for my 15450st blue.
I am a fan of the royal oak but not an off shore fan, I find them too big and a bit hideous. Each to their own. But if I was to chose then I would be down to colour, and it would be the blue one. Personally at that price point there are so many watches from other brands I would choose from. But to scratch the itch, I recommend you to get one and if you don't like it later then at least you won't lose no money on it. Good luck bro. 👍
❤️ Well said, indeed, a lot of options for price point! AP boutiques now display the offshore (not for sale 😂 ) the titaniums are worth having a look if you get a chance.
@@WatchSociety thanks bro. I value your chat. Big fan of your channel and I think its good that you ask your fans for their opinions. I have been fortunate to handle a few off shores in my time in collecting but I just can't get along with them. I am more into independents and you probably well know. The OS is very well made though, but the choice of materials like rubber probably has put me off in the past and they are just to chunky and clunky for me. That's the beauty of watch collecting. Everyone has their own preferences. I be excited to see what you decide and look forward to your purchasing adventure. Thank you for these videos!
I guess you might loose on the OS if you sell it, later. I don’t think they hold there value well on the long term, once many starts to hit the secondary market.
I’m a big fan of the offshore line.. love the new diver and the chrono 43 you’re looking to buy. That smoky dial is crazy.. with a black strap and deployant clasp.
I want the 26182ST as I am a big Tendulkar fan and Indian. I was told that ones that has a open case back, are in house movement and the ones that are closed or not. Is this true? Keep up the great content!
Oohs the Sachin! With no shadows of a doubt, nice pick! On the fold of in-house movements, I’ve heard the same, however, starting with the caliber 4401 (current 43 chrono and the new 42 chronos) all offshores will only have in-house movements ( the new gen is all open case backs) . The the previous chronos with the closed case only had the vertical clutch system inhouse made. 🙏
