There is no one on the planet that sounds like Willie Nelson, nor will there ever be...He is a one of a kind legend, and we should all be grateful that we were around to share his magic all these years...Bless you Willie
Grew up down the road from Willie's hometown. You may not know but he's been around a LONG time. He WROTE the song "Crazy", recorded by Patsy Cline. When Willie is gone, Texas just won't be the same anymore.
Willie's early singing career didn't do very well. His style was considered unorthodox. So he backed away and pursued song writing, and was quite successful for twenty or so years. Then he came back to the stage and became one of the biggest names in music. My dad used to say that Willie was so far ahead of his time, he had to go back to Texas for twenty years and let the world catch up to him. I agree. Great reaction, thank you for doing this.
If Willie and Keith Richards have taught us anything, it's that one can successfully preserve their health with a process similar to making beef jerky.
Last time I saw him live, about three years ago, he was gasping and struggling through his songs, pointing to the crowd to finish lyrics when he couldn’t. His guitar playing was still on point, though.
Bonjour Marie! Willie is a legend in American Music...as well as a legend with the Mar i Juan a Smoking crowd. He also is an activist and an advocate for Farmers. Glad that you have reacted to him several times. As noted in the video, he wrote the song "Crazy" made most famous by Patsy Cline, et je vous le recommande vivement de regarder. ~Be Blessed
That was really, really good. I lived in Nashville for 30 years and have been watching Willie Nelson for 50 years and more. Those popups provided by the station offered a different glimpse of Nelson. Wrote his first song at seven. Kind of like Aurora :-)
See how just a guitar as backup can make a song so much better. This was my moms favorite Willie song, and she went to at least 2 of his concerts (that I know of) in the 70's. He is a great songwriter and has written for many artists. Great reaction. ✌️😎
So happy you enjoyed this. This is one of my favorite songs of all time. Willie interprets this so beautifully. When he performs this you believe he has lived this and is truly feeling every word.
I really enjoyed your reaction to this song Marie. I hadn't heard this one for quite some time. It was nice to hear it again and watch your reaction to it. Look forward, as always, to your next post.
Great pick.this is a simple but beautiful version pf this song.willie is a legend as big as texas itself.i see you you are almost to 40k subs dear, way to go Marie!!!!much live and respect from Michigan😁😁😁😁
Loved your message about not taking things for granted. If anyone has a thought in their mind about loving someone, they should share that thought with that person. Love you Marie! Blessings!
Elvis did record it first - three months after his separation from his wife Priscila. He later said, "It was a song that said what I was trying to say in words - music has a way of doing that." This was co-written by MarkJames - who also wrote another big hit for Elvis called "Suspicious Minds."
Thanks for that girlie... I love Willie and don't think I ever saw this performance. As a fellow Home Fry :) I appreciate your reactions. Have a great week!!!
Great reaction to an amazing country performer. The feeling bad would be the way I'd feel if you ever stopped doing these videos so please NEVER STOP! Hugs from Idaho!
Great reaction 👍👌 and thank for brightening my day. I've never seen this version but it is very nice. Please keep the videos coming 🙏 prends soin de toi et reste en sécurité ❤ Kl
One of my all time favorites here. Thanks for reviewing it. You have to make time to review "Seven Spanish Angels" also by Willy, and really listen to the lyrics in it too. Another one of his best songs ever, IMHO. Love ya! Keep up the great reviews and additional information and input/viewpoint. You really add an interesting commentary in your videos. I love this channel.
Willie is in his late 80s and still records even now. His music career goes back to the 60s. Most people don't realize that he wrote Crazy for Patsy Cline, who was a very inspirational woman in country. She pretty much set the foundation for people like Dolly Parton and Loretta Lynn.
I've always enjoyed this song, and have never heard this simplified version of it with just Willie and his guitar. I thought it was terrific! A young Willie Nelson too! And like you mentioned a lesson well worth learning. Great choice! Great Reaction!!
Tu fais mouche Marie! C’est une chanson simple sur un sujet profond. C’est tellement facile de prendre pour acquis ceux que nous aimons le plus! Dommage que l’amour soit souvent si compliqué! You hit the nail on the head Marie! It's a simple song about a deep subject. It's so easy to take the ones we love the most for granted! Too bad love is often so complicated!
Watch the video again. Note the condition of his guitar. No other guitar sounds like it. It's the only one Willy will play. Every year at the end of his tour the guitar goes to one particular shop for repairs. Willy named the guitar Trigger which was the name of the horse owned by famous singing cowboy star Roy Rogers.
Havent seen this one before, but I loved it! Have always loved Willie Nelson.. Home Free just did a cover of one of his songs "On The Road Again" which now takes on a totally different meaning now that we have this pandemic.. Willie did it as a fun boppy road trip song and HF does a more melancholy, wistful version. Love you.. Love your reactions!! Thanks! (When you get a chance listen to Willies song that Patsy Cline did.. Crazy.. SO So nice!!
His guitar is pretty distinct and well known. He named it Trigger. He still uses it, and is quoted as saying basically that if he ever lost possession of it, he would stop producing music. He once sent it overseas to keep the government from confiscating it for owed taxes, I heard. Lol
I think Nelson wrote it & then Elvis recorded it. As Nelson got older, he started singing more. I think this is the perfect combination of the meaning of the lyrics & the voice.
Willie is 87. Blue eyes crying in the rain is another beautiful beautiful song. FYI: I I am still buying lottery tickets. Remember, when I hit the big one I'm bringing you and your family to America for a grand tour and several meet and greets.
You're exactly right, "Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain" is excellent. Marie reacted to two versions of it last September: - duet with Shania Twain ( ruclips.net/video/_br4qulARHI/видео.html ) - Willie alone ( ruclips.net/video/UhXsOlovvBg/видео.html )
I know the song, but I'd never seen or heard that version before. It's melancholy, but great. And it's often one of the first songs guitar players learn. There are tutorials on RUclips, I'm sure, if you want to learn it. Maybe you'll be playing it on tv one day, Marie!
Willie Nelson is a great songwriter - If he had only written the Patsy Cline song "Crazy" it would have been an artistic statement beyond the vast majority of songwriting - but Willie is also a great interpreter of classic songs, such as this one - love Willie Nelson
This is an old reaction, but I hope you are feeling better? I don't agree with some of Willie's politics, but he has always been of my favorite singers/composers. Unique voice and a very good feel for the poetry of music.
This is the version i grew up with. I'd never heard the Elvis one. Even so, i'm pretty sure the original can't hold a candle to this one. I don't normally listen to it b/c it breaks my heart but i made an exception for you. :) There's another updated version by Willie that is more grandiose. Instruments, background singers, etc. Both are great in their own way. I also love the Pet Shop Boys' pop cover of it. It's still the depressing lyrics but definitely much more upbeat so not as sad lol.
I've never heard this version or this performance but it was great! The studio version with the piano is even more powerful and I prefer it to the Elvis version. Your review/interpretation was excellent and you could not have picked a more beautiful tribute song for Framboisette.
Another song (of similar genre) that you might like is "Marie". There are two versions. There's a Leon Redbone "guitar" version and the Louis Armstrong (classic) version with the Mills brothers recorded in the 1930's. I really like this song probably because I had an "aunt Marie" who died quite suddenly from a rare medical ailment. Both versions have a New Orleans flavor.
One of the songs mentioned on screen was Crazy by Patsy Cline-trust me, you need to check it out. And you still didn' answer my question about how many things you knocked over or off with your new softball-and can they be glued back together??
Yes I would like that song ever since I heard it years ago I'm here in the USA. You mentioned the kitty I do hope if the kitties owners notice the kitty is sad and missing you I hope they love the kitty enough to ask you if you would want to keep it. And if you find out kitty is happy and just loving where it's at please let us all know and if it is happy maybe one day you could go visit it and take videos.
Was married for 23 years and now divorced for 7 almost. I can relate to this song. To this day I still think of Kim 💖 and wonder what Iv'e could've done to save the marriage. If she called me right now and wanted to get back together I would jump at the opportunity.
This is my favorite live performance of this song of his. Just him and his guitar. I think he performs it perfectly here. Most of other reactors reacted to the live version where he's playing with a band and sings it with different delivery timing. It's still good, but not as great as this solo performance.
Marie you might like to watch the video Andy Williams and The Righteous Brothers - What'd I Say(Year 1965). The brothers did this right after bobby sang unchained melody. They had so much fun with this number that I think you would really enjoy it.
Tomorrow is a big day, in my opinion, for 2 reasons, one sublime, and one much more of this world. First, it will be Holy Thursday, when Jesus Christ celebrated the Last Supper on the night before his death, and gave us the Holy Eucharist. Secondly, it will be “Opening Day” for Major League Baseball here in the USA. It is always a great and hope-filled day for baseball fans, as we hope for a successful season for our favorite team. Let’s go Mets!
Marie, Framboisette m’a envoyé un “e-mail”, me demandant de te dire qu’elle t’aimera toujours. C’était bien surprenant. C’était un “e-mail” bi-lingue! 🤛😉👍 Bon courage!
This is not really a reaction recommendation. But if you really love Willie, his best album is Red Headed Stranger. The whole album is a ballad--it tells a story through song. And, of course, it is a "western" story
Truly classic! I’m still waiting for you to react to my recommendation of Marc Martel-Under Pressure-featuring UQC (quarantine edition). We love him in Texas so he has done well
I Loved it when you said , "wow , just a voice and a guitar" because , to me , that is the BEST kind of Country Music : simple , pure and honest
Or a blues musician
The really awesome thing about Willie Nelson is that, even with his lifestyle, he sounds the same today as he did in that video.
He sounds about the same but all the smoking and age caught up with him he can’t really hit the notes any more but seeing him live is an experience
If Willie and Keith Richards have taught us anything, it's that one can successfully preserve their health with a process similar to making beef jerky.
He actually started smoking weed to help him quit smoking cigarettes and drinking 😂😬 and he did!
Last time I saw him live, about three years ago, he was gasping and struggling through his songs, pointing to the crowd to finish lyrics when he couldn’t. His guitar playing was still on point, though.
@@johngilbanni6385 at his age, that's not terribly surprising, especially with how much he's smoked throughout his life.
Grew up listening to Willie Nelson and Kenny Rogers. My parents listened to them when we went camping as a family. (years and years ago, lol).
Awesome reaction Marie. Willie Nelson 😃👍 great artist.
Great song by great artist.👍😎🇸🇪💕

great song and version...great reaction Marie...vous êtes génial .. passez une bonne journée... all my best,Kent in Ohio
I saw him live. He wrote over five hundred songs.
Lyrical genius Willie knows how to touch your soul
Thanks for that girlie... I love Willie and don't think I ever saw this performance. As a fellow Home Fry :) I appreciate your reactions. Have a great week!!!
This is one of the most heart felt songs ever
Great reaction to an amazing country performer. The feeling bad would be the way I'd feel if you ever stopped doing these videos so please NEVER STOP! Hugs from Idaho!
I went to an outdoor Willie Nelson concert in 1985 and it was amazing. Thanks for the video. Stay well.
I'm so sorry you lost your kitty - I know she was very important to you - I hope you feel better soon , Marie
As usual, you get it. Some songs directly from the heart and hit you directly in the heart. Beautiful reaction.
Hello Miss Marie !!! I Have Listened

Love ya! Keep up the great reviews and additional information and input/viewpoint. You really add an interesting commentary in your videos. I love this channel.
With blues legend Ray Charles
This one reminds me of his "Angel Flying Too Close To The Ground".

Très bien exprimé Bill!
Super! Salut Marie. A lovely song. Passe une Bonne journee
Masterful guitar playing. Willie had a gorgeous voice too... Willie wrote this song...
One of the greatest duos, Trigger and Willie.
Thank you, Marie.

Awesome reaction 😉
So smooth, such wonderful lyrics, gentle delivery, raw talent. A master of his craft.!!! I hope you enjoyed this.
Never thought Willie Nelson was that great.
I love Willie Nelson. Thank you for reacting to his stuff!

Elvis. Willie. Or the 80s band Pet Shop Boys, it’s a great simple song that means so much. Great lyrics and beautiful.
Pet shop boys version is horrible .
I think Nelson wrote it & then Elvis recorded it. As Nelson got older, he started singing more. I think this is the perfect combination of the meaning of the lyrics & the voice.

That was almost 40 years ago. I still love me some Willie, but time has taken it's toll on his voice.
A great version of ELVIS with orchestra and more...of course.Beautiful VOICE.
Iconic voice and a genius song writer.
Nobody sings this song better than the original singer of this song Elvis Presley. The voice and emotion he gives you is just fantastic.
Willie is the best.
One of his that is often overlooked is The Last Thing I Needed.
You have to react to Willi Nelson’s cover of Cold Plays song “ The Scientist” so sad his version.
Good ol' Willy such a great singer/song writer and even a funny actor. Watch the outtakes and jokes from "The Dukes of Hazard" movie
Willie Nelson has also wrote a lot of songs that he dint record but other famous singers did record that was big hits
I love him! Look back at your decisions in order to make better ones in the future. If you learned something, even better! Ah to be young again!
This is an old reaction, but I hope you are feeling better? I don't agree with some of Willie's politics, but he has always been of my favorite singers/composers. Unique voice and a very good feel for the poetry of music.
Willie at his best.

I seen Willie play many times. Sounds the same every time. Well done sis
IF Willie ever dies . . . . . that guitar, Trigger, is gonna be worth MILLIONS. He still uses it.
It belongs in the country music hall of fame .

Excellent song .. Pet Shop Boys covered this song uptempo .. excellent as well
Greetings from Texas, Willie Nelson's home state. Plus, I noticed your Oklahoma flag in the background, which is my home state.
you should listen to angels flying too close to the ground by willy.
One of the songs mentioned on screen was Crazy by Patsy Cline-trust me, you need to check it out. And you still didn' answer my question about how many things you knocked over or off with your new softball-and can they be glued back together??
I'm very sorry about Framboisette
His Album is "The Redheaded Stranger " is something You should react to . He wrote the Song "Crazy" that Patsy Cline recorded .
Love me some Willie!
Always on his mind but he always fool around. It's in the DNA, like Johnny Cash, I Walk the Line.
Great song and coincidentally my Willie Nelson t-shirt came in the mail today.

'Angel Flying Too Close to the Ground' !!

Angel flying to close to the ground- Willie Nelson

Brenda Lee recorded the original version 1972 ..
His Best!
Willy's music is great if you liked this try the song called Good Morning America it's great like I said his music is great
Willie wrote it, Elvis sang it, then Willie sang it and won a bunch of awards.
Brenda Lee recorded the original version
Love the Oklahoma state flag in the background! I live here in Tulsa, Oklahoma!
What song did Willie Nelson write for Elvis?
Always on My Mind.........
