You guys are amazing. I am in my second year of the violin. I started in my late twenties, I tried guitar first as that's what my family plays but It didn't resonate with me. I practice every day. I love it. I can't go a day without picking it up even if it's only for twenty minutes.
thank you for IMSLP !!!! I always had sheet music(mother did grade 8 piano - but that shit is to hard for me) and only did till grade 5 piano to play, but could find some other sheet music to play in between. this is going to help a hella lot :D

Ling ling is a prodigy and practices 40 hours a day, is always better than you at everything...no matter how many hours you practice LING LING IS BETTER 😔
It's a meme. They did a skit a long time ago parodying the stereotypical Asian parent's way of "motivating" their child to practice their instrument, and "Ling Ling" is the name of the imaginary neighbor kid who's so amazing at everything that they can literally accomplish the impossible (in this case, practicing 40 hours in one day, even though there are only 24 hours in a day) and hearing about them is supposed to make the child feel bad and practice. After it became a meme, they started jokingly looking for real-life "Ling Lings" in soloists and prodigies who play so well they feel inadequate (or at least act like they do), and now they throw the phrase around so much that a lot of the time it doesn't even mean anything at all.

Yes, practicing each day can do wonders in our playing by familiarizing, "cleaning" dirty passages and the process for memorizing the notes to meke them one music. Thank you Brett and Eddy for your always reminding and motivating us musicians and future musicians as well.
