It's good to have parents like that. Mine, for example played some pop for my younger sisters and that was it for their connection with music. When I first discovered normal music I was already 16. When I started to learn to play instruments (drums, piano and guitar) and sing by myself Al they did was just bought me drum pads and I had to get money for everything myself but hey still were irritated with me practicing and often forbid to play the keyboards and guitar for days (I had a small portable synth and a squire strat so they just took the cables away) and I quit on drums pretty fast just using those for loops to help me play the guitar. And when I did some vocal excersizes they just made fun of me for making strange noises. So Chinese kids are still pretty lucky

This reminds me of Dan Simmons' Endymion, where a guy, who grew up in a nomadic clan, tells he can play the piano because they carried a grand piano with themselves in their caravan. He admits this was a drag, as they had to tune it every time they moved, but they did it anyway because the leader of the group insisted. This was the only thing I could not believe about this entire space opera universe.

I'm a singer (an amateur at that) and recently I decided to learn opera singing at home for fun and I stumbled upon your "opera arias you need to check out" video and that's how I started watching your videos lol. I collected a lot of classical pieces as well from watching your videos.
Well, even if they grew up in Australia and speak English as their first language, they both were born in Taiwan. They are surrounded by family members and friends who speak mandarin (which they also speak fluently), so that's not surprising their accent is so on point... 😊

How much does it cost in the Us. Because we got a tuning from an expert who had to put a lot of work into it for 120 Euros.

Joke R Not quite that bad... lol but there are a few notes that sound sound like that, and one note that the tuner guy royally screwed up, it literally twangs between two different notes 😂 and there’s and b flat that won’t hold when I press down the pedal, not too bad overall though

Well, even if they grew up in Australia and speak English as their first language, they both were born in Taiwan.
They are surrounded by family members and friends who speak mandarin (which they also speak fluently), so that's not surprising their accent is so on point... 😊
