I'm self-taught amateur on acoustic guitar. Comes natural/play by ear. Family music heritage is in fiddle 🎻 and guitar ... and ukulele. (But I have an indelible timing & coordination issue ... dyslexia & scotopic sensitivity ... I was forced to switch from left to right hand. It erratically affects my coordination & timing in music. But I totally enjoy seeing others succeed. ) SO I TOTALLY APPRECIATE when people can reach this level of mastery.
When I clicked on this, didn't actually expect her to convincingly play it but it ended up being a masterclass in flute playing. The double tonguing is so refined. Here is a challenge: RUclips video called "McCoy Tyner - Softly, as in a morning sunrise | Piano solo transcription". I have been trying to learn it on alto flute. It only goes down to B below middle C, so can be played on concert flute with a B foot. It is a fun solo. Could call the video "Can a classical flute player sight read a jazz solo?"
Remember when Rush E used to be considered a black midi piece relagated to being only played virtually? Feels like every musician I encounter on the internet has played it lmao

I played flute/piccolo while in the US Army Bands and I wish that I could still play, my embouchure is too messed up now and I can’t get a halfway decent tone anymore. I love your playing.
Absolute legend! Me myself being the only flute player in a high school band I know how articulating and air is the more harder part to master (for me at least) but jasmine mastered it perfectly. If you do end up seeing this comment, have any pro tips I can use?

Your a flute MONSTER Jasmine! It reminds me of one piece that I wrote on Logic Pro - it's called Movement 19. It's very very very loud and scary. You should probably try it one day. I'll record it and then upload it so you can try it. You are gonna ace it!
So me and my friends are in band and they play flute while I play alto sax and it’s actually quite sad because all of the flute’s in our band want to quit due to their band teacher. He is apparently really mean and like really doesn’t care very much which is sad because some of them could be really good at playing flute but probably won’t be thanks to their teacher, like for example their teacher was absent today so ours had to step in and teach them. They didn’t know a part to one of the songs because their teacher never taught them it and just expected them to be able to play it, well they couldn’t so when Ms. Griffen, our band director, was teaching them they spent like half of the class just trying to fix everything while we sat and listened. After that I would hope they got better and want to keep playing even though they probably don’t want to. Sorry for rambling I tend to do that sometimes. 😅 You did awesome at playing this tho! ❤
