I’m actually flying from Copenhagen to Philadelphia then onto Tucson, all on AA premium economy. And the cost was $500 more than economy. Considering it also included 2 checked bags it’s a steal and that is round trip. Great video Thanks.
If you're just doing a 2 or 3 hour flight, you can tough it out in cattle-class. But for a long-haul flight, just those few extra inches of space alone make the upgrade worth it.
I enjoyed watching this, you two are so adorable together and funny. Thank you for comparing the difference between Premium Economy & Economy. I'll be taking my first trip to Europe with my bestie next year and I'm leaning towards Premium Economy. Great review!
Hey, it was our pleasure to bring the review to you!. Thanks for your kind words. If you can definitely do premium economy especially going from the US over to Europe because that's a night flight. Coming back is during the day so to save a few dollars you could always do economy coming back. Thanks for watching. Have a great trip next year! It's really exciting that it's your first trip to Europe!!
Hello great video. But unless I missed it I was wandering how much more the seat leans back in premium economy vs economy?? Is it a big difference? Thank you.
Hey, great question! Both seats in economy and premium economy recline but the seats in premium economy recline just a little bit more. But not dramatically more. What makes the big difference is that the premium economy seats are wider and definitely have more padding compared to the economy seats. Appreciate you watching and thanks for leaving a question. Cheers!
We have travelled from Mumbai to chicago in premium economy . For such a long journey, though the cost is more but the two three inches space gives a comfort .
We would agree...the extra space especially the extra width of the seats makes all the difference in the world! Thanks for watching and for your comment! Cheers!
Thank you! You are certainly correct ...on a long flight that extra space can make all the difference in the world! Thanks for watching and hope your next trip is a great one. Cheers!
I am heading to Europe next summer. I usually fly main cabin extra, but have a terrible time sleeping on red-eye flights. So for our trip I booked Premium Economy going there and regular economy (main cabin extra) coming home. I also got the bulk head for extra room. Hoping to be able to sleep better. Off topic...We live near Charlotte by way of NJ. :D
The way you booked it with Premium over and Regular back makes a lot of sense. But we only dozed going over and before we knew it, it was time for breakfast! Hey, hope you are enjoying the move from NJ to the south as much as we are! Thanks for watching and hope next summer's trip is a great one!
@@TravelwithNJSteveandSue we love it down here. Only thing we miss from NJ are friends and bagels. On my last flight to London last June. I slept only 20min. It wrecked me. I felt squished. From what I’ve seen this will be improved. Lol

Thank you for sharing this video cause my wife and I flew to Thailand 4 times already on the economy and next year we’re though about upgrading to the premium one 😀
For long haul fights like going to Thailand the extra space of Premium Economy can make a big difference. Just wish the cost was a little less! Thanks for watching and for leaving a comment! Safe Travels!
Thats true! The airlines are charging a lot of money for every upgrade now, although we just were able to upgrade on an American domestic flight from economy to first class for $150 one way. But still, these airlines and their money grabs are insane. Thanks for watching and for your input.
Sorry about lengthy post but question about comfort. Im debating going Premium PHL to EDI. I recently went to another country economy on another airline. My concern isn't the quality of food, etc. Its comfort. I have back and hip issues. Im wondering is Premium Economy better as far as softer, wider for more comfort, more recline to alleviate pressure on hips, etc? I was in alot of pain last time I flew due to cramped economy, not being able to move in seat as much, recline etc. And im short and average weight. Trying to decide to either never fly again or if Premium economy might help. Lie flat business is a bit pricey. For dates Im looking Premium is about $1,000 more than Economy which Im willing to spend if it means I can travel.
No problem. Appreciate your question. Yes, premium economy will definitely help. The seats are wider than economy, the cushions are better, you are not touching the person next to you, and the seats recline some. (but not flat). Also, if you can get bulkhead in premium economy there is plenty of space in front of you to get up and stretch. So, from what you say, I think premium economy is for you! Good luck and thanks for watching! If you do go premium, please post back and let me know what you think!
Hey HW. No not at all. In Bulkhead you actually get more legroom. Yes, Premium is fast becoming the new go to for travelers but it's too expensive in my opinion. But I guess everything is expensive now! Thanks for watching! Enjoy your weekend!
Hello and thank you for the video. My Husband and I are headed to Thailand (24-32hrs) from Norfolk VA. I have been concerned about the lack of leg room and size of the seats. My hubby and I are tall and plus size. Is there room to walk around the plane? Also, we were thinking of flying there business and premium eco for return. Do you think premium eco would be nice size for 6 feet tall people. I really would like to save money? Again, great video!
Hello, they packed these seats in pretty close and seem to discourage people from walking around the plane and only want them to get up if they have to go to the bathroom I think your idea of going over in business and coming back in premium economy is a good one, but I would suggest getting the bulkhead seats like we did in premium economy cuz then you'll have much more room for your legs to stretch out and you'll have a little room to stand up. Good luck with your trip. Travel is very exhausting nowadays. When we last came back from Europe it took 10 hours and I swore I would never fly more than eight. After that I give you guys credit for flying all the way to Thailand. But I'm sure the experience once you get there is going to be phenomenal!! Safe travels! Thanks for watching and thanks for asking a question!
You are right. Most of the seats are configured that way + it's very uncomfortable on a long distance flight. That's why if we're flying economy on a 777 we try to get the seats that are just two seats next to each other. Unfortunately, unless it's bulkhead you will be back by the bathrooms! Thanks for watching. Thanks for the input. Cheers!
From the east coast of the US, the flight took ~8hrs going over and ~9 hours coming back. The flight left the US around 7pm (which is typical) and flew during the night and arrived in Munich around 6am their time. Now coming back, you fly during the day. Either way, it's exhausting! great job! personally, it's criminal to charge $1400 more for premium just to get the essentially the same/similar food as economy. and for premium economy, with the seat in front of you at full recline, that would make it even more of a no-go. more than any other reason, the front seat fully reclined and crowding me into my space is the big factor for not going premium economy. at least for 7-8 hour flights. thank you!

Hello, the seats in premium economy are definitely more comfortable than economy. They're wider but they don't recline all that much. And unfortunately I would say they're still not that comfortable for sleeping. I can never sleep on a plane no matter where I'm sitting and just doze a little bit. So I wouldn't buy premium economy seats. If the goal is to get a good night's sleep for that you'd have to move up to business where the seats recline flat. Hope that helps. Where would you store your personal items if you are behind the bulkhead as you didn't have a seat in front of you to put it under. I don't like storing my bags in the overhead. I like to keep them with me. I dont have carryon luggage...just a couple of small bags that would fit under a seat.
Unfortunately, you have to put them in the overhead bins but in the seat there was a very small cubby that could fit a wallet or phone. Thanks for watching and for asking a question!

I bet Munich and Prague were great to see, the footage was beautiful and a nice 18 days in Europe by the sound of it. I think I would be fine with economy to save the extra money 😃👍~ Anna
Hi Anna! Yes, Bavaria was great and so was Prague and Split! Once in a lifetime trip! But hard for me to be away from home for so long! Hope all is well with you guys! See you around! ps...saw a lot of very old structures, just like where you live!
I have found American Airlines to be pretty poor in comparison to other airlines. The care the crew give, isn’t great and that costs nothing, plus the food is ‘adequate’ at best

No not at all. Never had that happen to us on any of our flights back to the US. Maybe they wanted people to fall asleep so that the flight attendants would not be bothered! LOL. Thanks for watching and for leaving a comment! Cheers!
My original comment about not flying economy was supposed to be on another video. Somehow, RUclips put it under yours.
I think RUclips gets mixed up sometimes!
Morning guys and ooo seems like there is a big difference in price but good that the food was the same quality, nice you got ice cream in economy.
If you're tall, which i am, the extra leg room is a gamechanger more than anything else.
You are so right. I can see that being a big issue when you're tall. Thanks for watching. Thanks for leaving your input. Cheers!
I have found American Airlines to be pretty poor in comparison to other airlines. The care the crew give, isn’t great and that costs nothing, plus the food is ‘adequate’ at best
We agree with you...it's really no frills basic transportation in our opinion. Thanks for watching and for leaving your input! Cheers!
In my case the difference was about 300€ per flight so I chose premium economy for both flights :-)
Thats not a bad difference and I would choose premium too! Thanks for leaving a comment! Thanks for watching! Cheers!
It's a wall. Which means LESS leg room because you can't put your feet under the seat in front of you.
Well actually the wall was so far away that we could fully extend our legs in bulkhead and not even touch the wall! The only think we don't like about bulkhead is that you can't put a bag in front of you under the seat. Thanks for watching and for leaving a comment! Cheers!
my question why US people go to Bavaria Garmish ? Maybe i completely wrong but i beleived you are US Army retired officer because you probably keep a good souvenir from USAG Bavaria Garmish or and the military hotel Edelweiss (Vacation or TDY)
Hello! No, none of us are retired from the US military! We went to Garmisch because we wanted to experience a small Bavarian town and see the Zugspitze Mointain! It is a beautiful place to visit! Thanks for watching and for leaving a question. Cheers!
It should be 777-200, not 700-200.
You're right, thanks! I'm going to fix that. Thanks for watching and thanks for letting me know!
I vote for Premium Economy. And if you book way in advance you can catch some good offers in Premium Economy. We are flying to Miami in August for a difference of 600 dollars between Premium and Economy. How you say: the early bird catches the worm 😁
You are so right! We noticed Premium Economy prices starting to go up 6 months before our Dublin trip! So booking early...very early...is the key! Thanks for watching and for leaving a comment! Cheers!
Economy vs. Premium can be a big dif, but it really depends on the airline.
Likely very true! I expect to see more Premium Economy offerings as airlines see it as a money maker. Thanks for leaving a comment!
Hello พื้นที่วางขาน้อยไปหน่อย ขอให้สนุกกับการเดินทางนะเพื่อน Thank you for sharing and see you again 💕
You are right. Definitely a little tight and economy! Happy travels and thanks for watching!
Premium
Agreed that's the way to go.... I just wish the prices were a little bit lower! Thanks for watching!
if we ever flew we would need the extra leg room
I hear you! Especially with a flight more than an hour....it gets uncomfortable! Thanks for watching and happy travels!
For 12 plus hours flight don’t do economy. Forget it if you get a wide guy sitting next to you. Economy is bad
We agree 100%! The only way is to find a section on the plane (the 777 has a few of them) where there is a row with only 2 seats. Therefore, you and your traveling buddy don't have to be pushed next to a stranger for 12 hours. Thanks for watching and for your input. Cheers!
❤❤
Our pleasure! Thanks for watching!
Im 6'5 so I need premium economy lol
6 foot 5? Yes! There is no way you could survive in economy! Thanks for watching and for leaving a comment! Hope your next trip is a great one! Cheers!
