Our pleasure Jamey! Thank you so much for everything you’ve done to support us, but more importantly to propel this hobby forward with awesome games for people to enjoy together! Kudos to you.
I'm a huge fan of Stonemaier Games, and count Viticulture, Scythe, and Tapestry among my top 30 games of all time. I have gotten people into the hobby with Viticulture (which I never play without Tuscany unless teaching someone who's new to gaming, but with Tuscany it is a 10/10 for me). I also appreciate how engaged Jamey is with the community, even to the point of answering specific questions I had in the BGG forums. My list would be like this (these are all the ones I've tried so far): Viticulture+Tuscany Scythe Tapestry (which I love and need to play more of!) Between Two Castles Wingspan
What a great video! Featuring Stonemaier Games brings together two of my favorite creators: you and Jamey! I have at least 10 SM games and all the related expansions. Our first SM game was Scythe. It wasn't the title that got us into board gaming, exactly, but it did a heckuva job accelerating our appreciation and consumption in the hobby! Would rank Scythe, Tapestry, Euphoria, and Wingspan at #1 because a four-way tie is just how it is.
Viticulture and Wingspan are both in my top 10 favorite games. Rolling Realms and Scythe are both in my top 30. I really need to try all the other Stonemaier games. They consistently puts out bangers!
I am also grateful to Stonemaeir Games for sending review copies. I was shocked the first time as my channel is so small. I've personally bought most of their games, but I'm very grateful the 4 or 5 games / expansions they've sent. My top 3 are 3) Viticulture, 2) Tapestry and 1) Scythe. You should try Smitten, it is like a Button Shy game and is 2-player cooperative or solo. I still need to play Pendulum and Charterstone. Great video!
I've had the pleasure of demoing Stonemaier Games at a convention in Vancouver. If you're ever in Montreal, I'll gladly bust open my copy of Pendulum and play with you.
My top Stonemaier game is Wingspan but my second is Between Two Castles, which seems to be an unusual pick compared to most people. I just think it’s such a unique idea and incorporates a large group very well
Loved this! Stonemaier is definitely one of our favourite publishers too, so many were in our top 50 this year. Scythe came up on top - it landed at number 3 for both of us! Can definitely understand the Tapestry love, we are super excited for the new expansion - will be a great excuse to get it back to the table :)
I love Stonemaier Games!! Libertalia is a phenomenal gateway game and doesn't get the love it should. So simple mechanically, so much fun to play. Here's what I truly heart about SM games. The organization! You can tell that it's a company run by people who game themselves as the production is so well thought out even down to making it clear how to put the game back in the box. They just poop excellence over there at Stonemaier.
I love Stonemaier Games - Scythe was my first love that got me into this hobby. Then I collected everything that is Scythe plus more Stonemaier Games games. SUPER DUPER freaking excited about Expeditions. Surprised you haven't played Euphoria yet - it's really good and also hilarious. Play it! Get it!
New subscriber, great video! Whole family loves Wingspan (European Expansion is fave) and Viticulture. We’re considering Scythe, may be too heavy for us.
Very fun little ranking video! Wingspan wasnt necessarily my gateway game (that was dominion), but it was the game that really showed me how interesting and beautiful board games could be, so it will always have such a special place in my heart. I've only played 6 of those that you mentioned (wingspan, viticulture, tapestry, scythe, rolling realms, and red rising) but of those 6, I think my ranking falls almost identically to Jamie's, so well done :)
I've only played three Stonemaier games. Scythe, Wingspan and Viticulture; I'd really like to try Tapestry. Viticulture has never hit for me. Wingspan didn't hit until I played it with the European expansion, which just opens it up more. I have Asia, but I have yet to play Oceaania. Scythe I adore. I have painted it, own everything but the airships and played thru Fenris. When I heard the name: Expeditions I was really hoping for a co-op version of Scythe, new board and player boards but the ability to port all your minis over. Dreams dashed, but I'll probably check out Expeditions down the line.
With your enjoyment of worker placement, definitely give Euphoria a try if you have the chance. Not sure why it isn’t talked about as much. It is a gem!
I've only played 'Wingspan' and 'Rolling Realms' (which I loved). Red Rising has always looked interesting to me, but I haven't tried it. Looking forward to diving into the 'Scythe' universe with the new game 'Expeditions' coming out. Cool video guys, thanks!
I’ve enjoyed all the Stonemaier games we have played! My favorite is wingspan and I feel bad because it isn’t one we play enough but every time we do, I always yell out we need to play it more! I hope I can try out Tapestry soon 😊
1. Libertalia: Windows of Galecrest 2. Scythe 3. Viticulture 4. Euphoria 5. Wingspan 6. Between Two Cities 7. Tapestry 8. My Little Scythe 9. Rolling Realms 10. Red Rising 11. Between Two Castles of Mad King Ludwig 12. Charterstone 13. Pendulum 14. Smitten 1-9 made it into my top 100. 1-5 are in my top 50. 1 and 2 are at 2 and 4 respectively in my top 10.
SM makes some great games and I feel like every game they produce includes extremely high quality components. Great game pieces and artwork add so much to a game and when the game is already fun, it just can't be beat
SM and Red Raven are my 2 favorite publishers! You should totally get the Arts and Architecture expansion for Tapestry. It is almost as essential as Tuscany! Thanks guys!
Love SM Games!!! You guys definitely need to get the Rolling Realms expansion. They’re a lot of fun! Honey Buzz, Architects of the WK, AFFO - so many fun titles!
Clearly I need to try Tapestry now. I highly recommend playing Wingspan with the Oceania boards. I like the new game end bird abilities and nectar but I love the boards. It's easier to get food and birds but harder to get eggs. It's more balanced and makes it less likely for someone to play the egg strategy in the final round. I've only played Wingspan, Viticulture, and Scythe. Rise of Fenris was awesome. I want to play through it again.
@@FostertheMeeple I love the Winds of Galecrest, and I have no idea what the mechanic is either. Give yourself a gold star for a great explanation and then the next time you review a pirate game, work in "booty" as many times as you can. For fun and glory, of course! 🤣🤣
SM makes some great games. They are also a really great example of a company built with real dedication and heart. Their Champion programme is really excellent too. I'm not sure about Juno's pick though. Controversial!
What is the third campaign game you have two have completed (in addition to Charterstone and Rise of Fenris)? I’m very excited to get into Fenris, but in currently in the middle of Gloomhaven Forgotten Circles.
Our group loves Wingspan and Viticulture. I own Tapestry but sadly, it's on my shelf of shame because my group is underwhelmed by it without even playing it! We played Scythe but it was not overly popular. Maybe it just needs a couple more trials. Never played any of the others.
As a big stonemaier fan, I definitely need to try a few that I have not tried yet. Scythe got me into bigger games, played alot, lose alot to my wife (she's better at strategy, I'm a lil better at tactical..aka on the fly decisions), have played and enjoyed wingspan, but own viticulture with Tuscany, between 2 cities essential, tapestry with almost all expansions. We used to own euphoria and expansion, and it was fun, but just had too many other games that were better and played more! As for your comments about viticulture, I love the essential edition, but Tuscany definitely elevated it for me. As for Jeff trying to win without filling orders, it's possible. We had a 5 player game, and my wine cards were garbage, so .focused on visitor cards victory points and won with having only about 2 wine in my.cellar and 0 orders filled. The 2 new people to the game were just dying laughing that it's possible. We do have on order the one expansion that changes out the visitor cards that make the cards and game about needing to make wine and so forth. Anyways, thanks for another amazing video!
We played red rising and wingspan last night. I like red rising, but it just doesn't shine at 2. We kind of settled into our hand early and spent most of the last 10 turns just scouting and waiting for the end. If we play with more players it takes a long time between turns. I think it's a game I want to love, but always disappoints a bit.
Totally fair. I know lots of people don’t love it but I’ve never felt the slog or the complaints others have expressed in the game. I very much enjoy the puzzle of building the deck.
My Little Scythe outranks Scythe for me. Given how much you like Scythe, I'd say it's worth checking out. It's faster, smoother, friendlier, and cuter. It's a little light without Pie In The Sky, but I think it's really the essence of what I like about Scythe without all the extra cruft.
@@FostertheMeeple Yeah, and I certainly haven't played as much Scythe as you guys (never touched the Rise of Fenris stuff). The end condition for My Little Scythe is just a straight race for stars, which eliminated the "scoring is pretty obvious" thing I found from playing Scythe on computer. Different strokes for different folks, but it felt like the Fantasy Realms to Red Rising for me.
Dang, I'm watching this video and realizing there isn't a single SM game I like. Just personally I've found most of these games over-rated or weak compared to others that are similar. I was able to trade Wingspan for Inis though! So that's great! lol
I'm incredibly honored that you two would devote an entire video to our games! Thank you so much for playing our games and sharing your thoughts.
Our pleasure Jamey! Thank you so much for everything you’ve done to support us, but more importantly to propel this hobby forward with awesome games for people to enjoy together! Kudos to you.
I love that the dog tooted right as you were discussing the "booty" and it's abilities. Lol.
I almost fell out of my chair when you indicated Scythe was two...
It'll be interesting to see what Foundations lands at...

Wingspan is great. It was a game I played with someone who wasn't very into boardgames, but after 1 game he immediately ordered his own copy
It’s a common story for that one!! Love it
Random Fresh Prince intro? This is gonna be a good one.
Hahah how did I know you’d know what that was from

I love Jamie’s expressions when Juneau is clearly off screen making noise (chewing on something?)
Yeaaa she’s chomping on her bone haha
Wingspan, Viticulture, Libertalia for me! Fun list. I am thoroughly convinced now that I have to try Tapestry, and Scythe has always been on my list.

I love wasting telemarketers time on the phone.
How many times can we get Jeff to say "booty" in a video? Moar pirate games, stat! (But also, the explanation was really good - nice work!)
