Faeland Review (Early Access) - A Beautiful Metroidvania with Zelda-Like Dungeons

- Faeland is a wonderfully animated Metroidvania with RPG elements, however, it seems to take a lot of inspiration from the classic Zelda games by implementing dungeons, and a more narrative focuses story. The story is set 1000 years after humanities creators (The Fae) wage a civil war wiping their race out. The protagonist’s (Sam) house is raided by ogres and sets you on the game’s journey to find out the evil that’s plaguing the kingdom. Although only the first 2 chapters are released, check out my review to see if it could be a game for you.

Absolutely beautiful game. This has been on my radar since day one and I'm hyped to learn it lives up to its promises. Surprised to learn that the story is more involved and the dungeons are big.
I noticed that the review copies had a loud and endless low health beeping but in the public release it's a muted throbbing. And I think Sam moves faster too.
I'm going to be so restless once I finish chapter 2!
I was very happy to find out there’s some narrative in it, not always common for a metroidvania. And yes, the second dungeon was awesome, felt structured similar to a Zelda game.
Feels similar to Chasm, if you tried that game, how would you compare the two?
I actually have not played Chasm before, I'll have to check it out!
I've followed this for years, at least 3 if not mistaken! Is this coming to ps5 or switch?
I believe they're definitely looking to port it, but not until after they're done with early access.
Is the full game done in confused by all these parts on steam....
The full game is not done. Only the first two chapters are playable, with the third one coming out in around a week I believe

@@peterc504 I wouldn’t necessarily say no point because you will still have access to the full game as it’s being released. You just won’t be able to play the game in full up front unfortunately

More than likely would not be until they are finished with Early Access, so it could be some time.
