At 67, I can say my generation is responsible for some of the BEST music ever. This is absolutely one of my all time favorites, and means even more today. Thanks John. So glad he is still with us.
Every generation makes great music that they feel is their own. Please don't be that "it was better in my day person". From big band,to Sinatra,to Elvis and Cash,to the Beatles and Stones, from Janis, Jimi, the Doors, to Sabbath and Zeppelin, to Jim Croce ,Cat Stevens, Van Morrison to the Ramones, Blondie, the Clash,Van Halen and The Doobies, to Frigging, the Smiths, Madonna and Prince, to Nirvana and Pearl Jam, the Killers and Oasis, To The War on Drugs,Kurt Vile, to Orville Peck......... On down the line(I didn't mention much hip hop but I have nothing against it). Each generation has their own style, music, zeitgeist and there is always some ding dong saying"it was better in my day"
@@scottpierce68 Maybe you don't read well my pleonastic friend, but at no point did he make any such claim. And neither has he edited his comment. If you're going to make an accusation using a _War & Peace_ length hyberbole then at the very least you should have facts to support your rhetoric.
@@scottpierce68 - You obviously just slipped over my OPINION and then made an impulsive comment. I said my generation was responsible for SOME of the best music. That said, we music lovers, no doubt, hold our various "formative" year's music with alot of love, enjoyment, and of course many, many memories. I happen to enjoy all music from classical to country and everything in between !!! I can't imagine a world without music. It goes with every part of life, IMO. Take care to all !!!
I heard this song for the first time today..... I was a 90's Raver and now listen to Techno and Tech House music, however, good music is good music and this track is amazing, what an arrangement! This is music.
Do you believe in magic is one of my all time favorites from the spoon. Great music, great song writer and instrumentist. Nothing beats the music of my generation. Just as inspirational today as then.👍
The first time I heard this song was in a movie. Darned if I can remember what the name of the movie was but this song has been a favorite of mine ever since. Does anyone know the movie?
John B. Sebastian's music never gets old. At least to these old ears.✌🤗
What a fantastic performance by John Sebastian. He's one of our greatest songwriters.

PS Just kidding, and I know what you mean... I see that same post on almost every single video of a song from the past.
Movies too.

Fantastic. I never realized how great the spoonful was until recently.
What a killer performance. Sometimes you get more power from just one guy and a guitar then with a whole rock band. John can pull that off.
Epic song from the movie: “ You’re A Big Boy Now” in memory of Starlet Elizabeth Hartman❤😊
beautiful song and an amazing artist thanks for posting - a treasure
God I love this song x

Great tune
That was incredible. so sincere. Thank you.
"It's okay to shoot the moon" x
The Lovin Spoonful was one of my favs back in the 60s.
John B. Sebastian
Awesome also love Joe Cockers version
John Sebastian looks a lot like John Lennon did when he was with the Beatles from early-to-mid 1968.
Tedeschi Trucks version is my favorite, after Cocker.

You're a Big Boy Now
Oh yes, I remember now. Thank you, Kathy
great performance but not the spponful....John and backing group
Not NRBQ either. They would back him up in the 80s and 90s. I think this is from Soundstage which came out of Chicago.
It's ok to shoot the moon
And beat your crazy heads against the sky.

Weergaloos
