When I hear this, I get such a rush from all those awesome memories of the 70's flooding back. Some may think we old for being there, but if they only knew what they'd missed. Never to be another era like it and how much I love that I was there. Thank You.

@@MrCatstail They were so, so good ... At the Hordern Pavilion Noddy at the start was drunk or on drugs .. he walked smack bang into the speaker stand. He wasn't right for a while but then he came good and was the best front man you have ever seen .. he was very commanding .. I am inclined to say charismatic. Jim was so calm and well centred. An amazing bass player. The whole show took you somewhere that you can't describe .. somewhere so wonderful ...

Im 62. When we were about 15 - 1974 or so - we first heard Slade Alive, and just loved the album. Our first exposure to :glam: Hard English Rock like that.. So unique.. We went and saw them at Winterland.. Some months later when we were listening to the album, an older, more sophisticated "Teenager" that we looked up to told us that Slade was a "gimmick band".. "wha..?" I never trusted that guy again..I never could understand how you couldn't like them. Great Band at the right time.

How is it they were underrated when they are rated 2nd to The Beatles in most top 10 hits? From their humble beginnings as the N-Betweens in 1965 through their mega hits in the '70s, their loud, brash style, both musically and visually, endeared many a listener over the decades. An amazing run of 17 U.K. Top 20 singles in a row, as well as a batch of classic LPs are proof of that popularity. IS THIS underrated?:

@@craigbutterfield592 You must be in England. I've got friends over there who echo the same sentiments as you. I'm in the US, and Slade never translated to American audiences for some godforsaken reason.
I guess I should have pointed out that I was talking about US audiences. I first heard them in the early 80's via Run Runaway. There are plenty of bands that made a mint across the pond that didn't make it as big over here as they deserved to. I was born in '71, and I didn't know much about them beyond the aforementioned 80's hit and that they wrote Quiet Riot's 2 biggest hits until I went looking for info on them in the 90's. Cheers

@@craigbutterfield592 Nice to know, I had to seek them out, and am glad I did! Sweet is another excellent band, for sure, though I feel they got a better shake at radio play than Slade did.
