@@Tyborg425 Get a thermal first and then a coti later if you need it. Thermals are useful during the day as well, and you can't use a COTI in the day (well the chinese clip 1 you can because it has a handheld adapter, but it's kinda whack). Also cotis have an issue with a lot of false positives unlike dedicated thermals. So its a lot less useful than a dedicated thermal. I would only get a coti if you start using dual 14s on a panobridge, or quads, as basically what the coti provides is the ability to have thermal without neutering your regular IIT FOV. As a side note, a binocular setup where both IIT tubes are facing the same direction with a coti is inferior to a 14 and a thermal imager, because the image you get from dual tubes is actually the exact same as a monocular. You really are not getting any advantage unlike a panobridge or quads.
RH25 is the winner. Cost / benefit of the RH25 is far better than any of the other units. The Nox18 can not be used as a clip-on. The SkeetIR is the only comparable unit but it costs over 3X as much.
@@customnightvision does it have an adjustable diopter like the Nox18? Also work as a handheld scanner? I’m never going to use either in dual band system just want a handheld scanner
@customnightvision well yeah but I'm asking to find out if anyone has experienced this. Typically thats how your eyes work. Its stereoscopic vision. But it registers in your brain as one image.
Binos are practically pointless. The image you get is basically the exact same as a monocular. A panobridge is far superior and a cheaper setup. You should only get a clip on if you already have a thermal imager. I wrote a comment below extrapolating my reasoning.
This is a great vid and the info about the eyepieces isn't something I've heard before. I want to love the Nvision because it's US-made and seems like something you might see in "serious" use unlike a lot of the imported stuff, but in every single video I've seen of Nvision (including the one you showed) it seems like there is just so little detail in the environment. It always looks muddy and low contrast. Yes, the detection on targets seems good. But for a helmet-mounted monocular used for scanning, that's only part of the picture. I wonder if it's just a lack of image processing on Nvision's part. The fully manual NUC is also kind of annoying.
Does the nox18 have a way to collimate with i2 optics? My biggest disappointment with getting a thermal was the images being shifted and not being able to resolve it.
Probably not going to mess with Chinese tubes. The industry has been pretty negative towards anything containing even the simplest components from china. However, the Argus quad is something we want to offer, potentially.
Yeah, why not, you can have one over each eye or get a thermal overlay for a pvs14 and still have one natural lighted eye, and anything in the middle of your pvs14 vision will be highlighted with thermal

What do you think about the Trijicon IR Patrol M300W or the Armasight sidekick 640 mini?

I have a single pvs14 can’t figure out if I should thermal or eCoti clip on. I like shooting and run and gun. But evade and detect is cool.
Hopefully this video answers that for me?

Thank you for your work
Love some facts and data, and long videos. Serious
I wish NVision would make a thermal clip on like the skeetIRx! Have you gotten to test/use the nox35 yet?
Nvision coming out with clip on later this year.
I have many hours behind the nox35. Its actually my favorite thermal.
@@customnightvision does it have an adjustable diopter like the Nox18? Also work as a handheld scanner? I’m never going to use either in dual band system just want a handheld scanner
Do your eyes compensate when you run thermal on one eye and night vison on the other by combining both images into one in your brain?
depends on your brain man.

How about pixelsontarget voodoo-s? Essentially a skeetir?
The voodoo s is excellent. Check out my review on it.

Theoretically maybe.
It wouldn’t be like a true collimation but the eyepieces could be adjusted to a position that’s more comfortable or collimated by eye.
