Pink Lady Apples are also known by their cultivar name, Cripps Pink. Pink Lady apples were bred in 1973 by Australia's John Cripps. They are delicious and they were my beautiful grandmother's favorite apple. I love that you saved this tree!!!
Hi Justine and Ron. Have been watching your channel for a while now. Keep up the great work. Wow, you are lucky to have a Pink Lady apple tree. That is my favourite apple down here in Australia. It is a pink blush medium size apple, crispy and sweet, lovely to eat fresh. You could cook with it too. You will enjoy eating them. Hope the tree grows well for you.
Thought: poundcake might have been a way to use up a surplus of dairy and eggs? Maybe when it was time to freshen up and rid your pantry of aging supplies, you made a poundcake. We know they wouldn’t be wasteful so there must be a reason for such an indulgent recipe.
Hi Ron and Justine! I just wanted to say hello and tell you how much I love your channel! My husband and I live in Kansas City, MO, and would love to visit St. Genevieve soon! It's only 4 hours away from us. Have you heard of Herman MO? That's one of our favorite historical towns, and it's fairly close to you. Anyway, I hope we can experience pioneer days in st.gen, and maybe we'll see you around. Take care and God bless ❤
@@heller7083 they really do. The only things I don’t like them in is things like tarts and any recipe you leave the skin on for. The skin stays a little tough and thick. But if the skins are removed before cooking they’re great
Those would be amazing for breakfast with coffee. Had no idea you taught classes! That’s really awesome. Living history is so invaluable. Be it what you and Townsends do or be it Medieval and Viking Age. We just can’t appreciate the things our ancestors did if we never experience those things for ourselves. People travelled across the country and the world on sail boats and by horseback! Now that we have planes and cars most of us seldom leave our own states. Crazy. The more advanced we get the less driven we are to live. Thanks for living guys!

That intro "Welcome to the jungle, we've got pound cake" was totally rockin and gave me a good hearty chuckle 😂 And as a retired horticulturist, I'm so pleased to see rescued plants 🪴

Your live chats are always so much fun! Thank you. Despite the recent result in Ron's case, cutting your own hair is a great idea. You can learn to do it quite expertly. I started doing this years ago, after getting tired of overpaying for bad haircuts. Further, the sanitation of haircutting places is often questionable. At home, it's virtually free (after you buy the basic equipment needed), you can cut it just like you want it, at any time, and you will get better at it each time. I get better haircuts at home than I can buy, for free, never any wait, and it is always clean and safe. Self-reliance is always the best way to go.
Agreed! ive been cutting mine for about 5 years now, and while everyone was getting crazy pandemic hair I was just laughing 😂 I can cut it whenever I find time, and I always get exactly what I want - or when I don't I just have myself to blame 😅

Lavender and rosemary are in the same family of plants - the Lamiaceae. So you’re right. They do look and smell similar. Rosemary also has purple flowers that smell a bit like lavender.
